Wow!!! This book was so good! Right from the start I was drawn in and stayed that way until the end. THIS is what domestic suspense is about!!

Imagine having your whole life erased in a matter of minutes because you were doing what was right. This is what happened to Laurel. Fast forward and Laurel is now Hannah. Hoping to finally find safety and the happiness that was so brutally ripped away from her, she, her partner Jasper and their daughter Pia move into a beautiful new home in a posh neighborhood. Jasper knows she has a secret from her past but doesn't push her about it hoping someday she'll be able to tell him about it. As she meets one of her new neighbors she starts to relax a bit. The bond is instant and Hannah finds herself giddy with the knowledge she has made her first friend in a very long time. She is even somewhat looking forward to the neighborhood barbecue on the beach. As she meets some of the rest of her neighbors she is stunned to see someone from her Laurel days. As sinister things begin to happen Hannah wonders if her past has caught up with her and who could be trying to get their revenge on her. Fearing for her family's safety and afraid her secret will come out, Hannah takes things into her own hands and starts looking for clues.

This was well written and most of the characters were likeable even when they weren't. It is told mostly from Hannah's POV with a few chapters of Laurel's POV for background information. I absolutely recommend this book. It did not disappoint!!

Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for an early copy of Your Little Lies. This was a great read. Looking for the notebook was basically the only ridiculous part of the book. As a mom what Hannah went through was excruciating!!!! I was a little confused about the blouse still not too sure about that part but all in all give this novel a go, you will be happy you did.

FANTASTIC! The best book I have read this year. If it's not on the best seller list when published I would be very surprised. The author has done a great job at keeping you guessing. I just couldn't put it down. Superb writing

This book had me hooked from the start! I had so many questions throughout. I loved how much action and events were in this book. I thought I had it figured out, but I was wrong! I loved it.

Hannah, Jasper, and Pia move to a new neighborhood. It was obvious from page one that Annabelle was not who she said she was, and was out to get Hannah. The things she did were also very predictable. I feel like this book would have been much better with a part one and two. part one being Hannah, ending with a dead body. Part two being laurel and then an ending. It didn't flow that well; almost as the whole plot was rushed and lacked suspense. It wasn't that catching. I skimmed more than anything . But the ending was not what I expected....

DNF - Neutral rating

Unfortunately I will be putting this one aside for now. The concept for this is sooo intriguing, I love the gated community setting so much and the idea of our protagonist moving to a paradise only to find her past is already waiting there to haunt her is right up my alley.

Sadly the writing is just not for me and after only a few chapters I know that I am going to struggle to become invested in this story if I can't get past the prose. Fortin's writing style is very clinical, there's and abundance of 'Jasper said' 'Jasper added' 'Hannah said' 'said Hannah'. It accompanies every line of dialogue and every action, and is rarely replaced with synonyms, It just feels a bit robotic and it detaches the reader from the story in a way that I don't personally enjoy. Likewise all actions in a scene are written out, listed, even smaller ones that aren't plot relevant, as if the writer does not trust the reader to fill in the scenes imaginatively or to remember the characters names or where they are in a given moment.

This could be a stylistic choice, but as I know the prose is not a good match for me I will be giving it a neutral rating.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I’ll definitely be reading more of hers.

Jasper, Hannah, and their young daughter Pia move to an exclusive coastal area, Silverbanks. They have a beautiful home and a solid marriage but soon after moving in, Hannah catches a glimpse of their next-door neighbour and panics when he recognises her from her former life. The storyline goes back and forth between Hannah then and now, but it wasn’t difficult to keep track.

Hannah soon makes friends with a neighbour, Annabelle, but it’s not just Hannah who’s keeping her past secret. Who is Annabelle really?

I was hooked from the first page and read it in record time. It’s a well-written, brilliant storyline with some twists and turns, and an ending that I wasn’t expecting.

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for an advance reader copy in return for an honest review.

Your Little Lies
By: Sue Fortin

4 Stars

Sometimes, the past will come rearing it ugly head, as Hannah knows too well. A new house, with her man and daughter, and on the beach to boot, what could be better? The past slowly creeps in as strange things begin to happen all around her. Her life will be forever changed, again.

This story was a wild ride. From beginning to end, it was an emotional and very charged book. The danger and drama are palpable from the pages. I was hooked. The ending was great. In terms of storyline, this one was action-packed and filled with danger, crime, mystery, and love. A mothers love. It had engaging and interesting characters. It was emotional, and once I got to reading, I hated putting it down.

*I want to thank Netgalley and the author for this book in return for my honest review*

I devoured this book in two days.A twisty domestic thriller that I couldn’t have predicted at all.The main character came across as irritatingly emotional but the storyline was quite good so you ignored this minor flaw.

Ohh what can I say other than this was one of my all time favourite thrillers that I have read. I loved the storyline the characters and the twists and turns what more could you ask for in a thriller.

Hannah, Jasper and there young daughter have moved into the luxurious Silverbanks it’s away from the city and just what the family needed to start a fresh. The neighbours have organised a welcoming bbq for Hannah and her family. But when Hannah is introduced to one of her new neighbours she can not believe who it is he pretends that he doesn’t know her but now Hannah doesn’t think she is as safe as she thought then strange things start to happen has she put her family in more danger by moving the this place.

I absolutely loved how the story went from past to present it definitely made the suspense build up I thought I knew what happened but wow I so wrong. I will definitely be recommending this to everyone. Amazing book amazing author thank you for the chance to read this.

Good domestic thriller that examines the choices we make and the consequences of those choices. Hannah is haunted by her past when she moves into a beautiful oceanfront community with her husband and the area is not as serene as she hoped.

I enjoyed this interesting story.

Your Little Lies by Sue Fortin is a domestic thriller that grabbed me immediately and did not let go.

Hannah and her family have moved into the luxurious community of Silverbanks. It is the fresh start that they needed, and they are optimistic that this will be a place that they can enjoy for years to come. But a chance meeting at a welcome to the neighbourhood party will have Hannah more fearful than ever of a past that she has tried desperately to escape.

This is a story that kept me glued to the pages as I tried to assemble all of the pieces to a complex and tension-fuelled puzzle. Told from the alternating viewpoints of the past and present, you too will be desperate to see how it all connects and unfolds.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for an ARC.

OMG... This was so good!
A domestic thriller that had me gripped from the start. Full of tension, suspense, and intrigue. Sue Fortin certainly got my emotions flowing with this one. It had some gut-wrenching moments, and I had to fight back the tears a few times. Fast-paced and compelling, I flew through this book. There were moments when I gasped out loud ( the hubby had to check if i was ok) and twists I did not see coming. With a great plot and well written characters, I don't often give 5 stars, but this book deserves them.

An anxiety induced read that had me holding my breath throughout. I recommend this to anyone who loves reading domestic thrillers.

Synopsis

Immersive Suspense..
The luxury gated community of Silverbanks seems a dream delivered for Hannah and Jasper - yet it is soon to become just as far from that as it is possible to be. A pacy and propulsive domestic suspense with a plot populated by a credible and well crafted cast, edgy narratives, twists aplenty and a well imagined backdrop. Compelling and immersive.

Hannah has lived a totally different life, as Laurel, before she met Jasper. Though he has always known that she had a secret, she was too afraid to tell him what the secret is. When they move to a new seaside neighborhood, strange happenings, and a body on the beach, threaten to expose Hannah's previous life. And she's afraid that if the worst happens, Jasper will leave her and take their daughter, Pia. Will Jasper continue to stand beside Hannah after she is charged with murder?

I loved everything about this book. The characters are well depicted and readers will root for Hannah to regain her life and her joy. Jasper is a refreshing character -- a rare, and much appreciated, depiction of a man who honors his commitment, not one who bails at the first hint of trouble, nor one who is seeking only what he can get out of a relationship. The ending was unexpected, but reasonable and satisfying. I hope to read more by this author.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

I read this one at break-neck speed as it caught my attention immediately and wouldn't let me go until the end! Happy couple Hannah and Jasper have just bought a new house in a great development and move in with seven-year-old daughter, Pia and dog, Luna. Hannah is elated until she meets new neighbors, Bryan and Annabelle whom she recognizes from her "former" life--that of course no one else in her family knows about! And we're off! Then the novel vacillates between her old and new life as we see the terror, the stalking, the murders, and just how she survived. It's an excellent cat-and-mouse game that will leave you with your mouth hanging open!
