thanks to Harper 360, NetGalley, Laurie Gilmore for an ARC of this book.

5 stars!! It's not often that you hear about a FMC being the grumpy character in a grumpy x sunshine book. This was a great continuation of the Dream Harbor series, it was nearly a love at first sight situation. Kira was unsure of what her life would be like once she moved into this town, especially since her sister Chloe wouldn't be around to witness it. Bennett and his dogs stumbled onto her newly opened Christmas tree farm, and they were constantly attached at the hip ever since. I'm glad there's a fourth book in this series, I can't get enough of these characters.

Another adorable romance with a satisfying HEA from Laurie Gilmore. This one is grumpy x sunshine and forced proximity which I ate up. What I love most about this series is how cozy each book is and that they are interconnected so we get to see characters from the previous books from time to time. This is the perfect book to read when you're looking for something sweet and low stakes.

Unfortunately this book was not for me. A lot of stereotypes, literature tropes, and a bad sort of hallmark movie vibe. Almost didn’t finish but I pushed through.

Kira even though she hates the holidays buys a Christmas tree farm and does it to prove that she doesn't need the help of her parents or twin sister. Bennett is there visiting his sister and has been nominated to scope out Kira's place as the town peoples think there is a dead body or treasured buried somewhere. Kira is grumpy and not wanting to accept help from the town or from Bennett. They are both dealing with issues in their past when a snow storm comes through leaving Bennett to stay with Kira. That's when the two realize they actually like each other and decided on a holiday fling and after the new year he'll go home and she'll go on her way. Will that work for them though? Kira's grumpiness then sweetness was a little exhausting to me and annoying how she could flip, I'm not entirely sure she was my favorite character in the book. I did like the book ended on a happy note.

Thank you to NetGalley, Laurie Gilmore and the publisher for this ARC

A great addition to the Dream Harbor series. Super realistic, no, A Hallmark movie in book form with a little spice, yes.

Thank you NetGalley and Harper 360 for the advanced digital copy! Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Thank you Net Galley and publishers for letting me read this arc in return for an honest review.

So I read this in one day. Not because it was so good I couldn't put it down type of read. No, this was a one day book because I wanted to get it over with. This whole series is like a hallmark movie threw up all over, and this one was my least favorite of the series so far. I didn't like the main characters. One, they're not locals so you don't read much about the cozy town or weird and quirky villagers. And two, they're not likeable or relatable at all. Kira is just mean for no reason. She's the spoiled rich girl who can't do anything. And Bennett is too nice that he's a pushover. They fell for each other way too fast to set up any kind of relationship buildup. It was all a bit too forced. And again this series throws all the clichés in your face, which didn't work this time around. Do I want to read the rest of the series? Yes, but will I regret them and cringe? Also yes.

We love a Laurie Gilmore novel! This is like a Hallmark movie wrapped up into a book and I devoured it! This was a nice quick and easy romance to read and a must add to your winter TBR. This is heartwarming, festive, has good amount of spice with the perfect amount of seasonal coziness and light heartedness.

This was a cute quick Christmas read. It felt like a hallmark movie with a little more spice! Bennet has a need to fix things and Kira is insistent on paving her on path (on her own) for once in her life. When the two paths cross there is definitely friction (in more ways than one). I don’t love a third act breakup but it was quickly resolved in a way that made my heart happy to read it. Would recommend to anyone looking for a cute little holiday book!

Kira North hated Christmas.

Kira's twin sister has married and left to live overseas, as someone that has always depended on her sister's more level-headed personality, Kira feels extremely adrift. After watching a bunch of homesteading videos, Kira gets it in her mind that what she needs to do is buy a farm and with a trust fund just sitting there, well, a Christmas Tree Farm is purchased. This is third in the Dream Harbour series but each book works as a standalone, the tying thread is the small-town and friend group that flutters in and out of whoever the main characters' book is at the time. I read a paperback copy of this and there was a map of the town, which was fun to see and imagine all the characters going to and fro shops and businesses. Kira gets paired up with Bennett, series readers will remember him as the brother to a past lead, he's in town for vacation and to get his dating life in order, no more fix-it women. So, we have a determined to make it her on her own for the first time in her life and a will explode if he doesn't help, couple.

When she lifted her eyes to his, he was still looking at her like he had plenty of ideas on how to keep her warm.

If you couldn't tell by the title, this works super well as a seasonal read, snowball fights, Christmas festivals, stroopwaffles!, you're probably going to want to lean into those feelings as the actual plot was a bit slow going. Kira and Bennett meet and have instant attraction right away but Kira's a grumpy gus who does not want to give into her attraction as she sees that as her going back to her old ways. Bennett has a bit of that as well, he was burned bad by an old girlfriend, he actually moved from the East to West coast for her only to be told, he was too boring for her and then to be used a periodic desperate grab when she got lonely. He's working to shore up his defense for women who only use him. He never builds up too tough of a wall against Kira but he does get his feelings hurt after they have some bedroom scenes (some spice heat to these scenes) and Kira still tells him she doesn't want him, for some later in the book angst. Kira, exhaustively, ping pongs hot for Ben and doesn't want to lean on anyone.

Lumberjack fantasies that Kira didn't even know she had rushed into her head.

This was pretty low angst but at over three hundred pages (to me, this easily should have been two-twenty-ish) there wasn't a lot to keep this going, the relationship issues were draaaaaaaaaaaaged out. There was also a little bit of mystery thread, the farm Kira bought is rumored to have treasure or a body!?, buried on the property, it's what first gets Bennett out there continuously, friends/townspeople pressure him to go search for the body so the new gal doesn't find it and get scared away. I don't know, this mystery thread gets brought up and then, just about, completely ignored for the majority of the book, only to be kind of brought in with some found letters and then secrets revealed in the epilogue.

He wanted to confess that all he wanted for Christmas was her.

The page count was way too long on this for me, making the story feel dragged out, Kira ping ponged too much, and the mystery thread wasn't invested in enough. It was fun to visit the town again, see past couples, and experience some festive vibes.

4⭐, 2.5🌶️

Ahhh nothing hits better than a well written grumpy sunshine Christmas romance. While I didn't connect with Kira's storyline at times, I enjoyed Ben character. I will say this book kindddd of reminded me of another book that came out this year with the grumpy/sunshine couple, and the MMC's obligation as his family's yes-man. I will say I may have liked this more if I eyeball read and didnt listen to the audiobook - I just wasn't a fan of the narrators voice. It didn't fit the age of the characters and pulled me out of the story at times.

Thank you NetGalley and Harper 360 for an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review!

***Thank you to Netgalley and One More Chapter for an e-arc copy of The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore! All thoughts are my own!***

Kira North hates Christmas, which is unfortunate since she just bought a Christmas tree farm in the town of Dream Harbor.

Bennett Ellis is on vacation in Dream Harbor, taking a break from his life in California. But mostly, taking a break from his latest run of disastrous dates.

After a run in with Kira in her fields, Ben has no intention of offering to help the grumpy owner set up her tree farm, despite the fact she clearly has no idea what she’s doing.

But somehow fate finds Ben at Kira’s farm once more, and as Kira watches him swing an ax at the first tree, she finds herself appreciating his strength and questionning why she refused help in the first place.

Laurie Gilmore has done it again, giving us readers another seasonal hug of a book. Each book is such a cozy and comforting read. I actually went to an event Laurie was at recently, and listening to her talk about how she came up with the books was very interesting. From how she creates her couples to using some of the characteristics of her characters from her own experiences.

Any time I read a Dream Harbor book, I just love being back with the cast of characters. Their friendship is what I love to see in a friend group. And seeing the entire town coming to support the tree farm was great.

This book definitely gave the cozy Christmas vibes. Her books definitely read like a Hallmark movie, which honestly I need sometimes. But this book didn't have as much of a mystery element as the other books, especially The Cinnamon Bun Book Store. It was very small, the romance on the tree farm being the main plot point.

Kira and Bennett are such flawed characters, but the fact that they were willing to work through their flaws to make their relationship work was so relatable. I like how realistic the characters in this series are. I can't wait to read more of this series as the books come out (especially Annie and Mac's story.) These books are just such light reads and definitely cozy.

The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore is available now!

This is the series to read when you just want all the cozy feels and Hallmark movie tropes, and I'm all here for it. I've read all 3 of the books out in a short period of time, and I really wish I could just keep going.

Dream Harbor has become one of my favorite little towns to escape too. I love the cover of this book and have been wondering what was going to happen to the run-down Christmas tree farm and now we have our answer. It was fun to get to know Bennett a little more since we always would hear about him from his sister. I wasn’t so sure about Kira, but she grew on me. I think my favorite series so far has been the 2nd one but I really enjoyed the holiday vibes and the dogs in this 3rd installment of the series! I look forward to getting to know more about the dream harbor residents and seeing how all their stories connect!

Thank you, Net Galley, the author, and the publisher, for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I am officially completely obsessed with this series! I was so excited to receive this approval to do this ARC. I had just finished book 1 and 2 in October so it was perfect timing! this is seriously the most perfect Christmas book!

Some Tropes:
🎄Grumpy x Sunshine
⭐️Small Town
🎄Forced Proximity
⭐️One Bed
🎄Second Chance

This book has my 2 favorite things. 1. Small town romance and 2. Christmas . Dream Harbor is the most perfect town and I’m devastated it’s not a real place! The characters in this book were perfect. There truly isn’t anything else you need to ask for from this book!

Thank you to @netgalley , @harpercollins360 , @onemorechapterhc and @lauriegilmore_author for giving me the opportunity to do this ARC! I am so grateful for this opportunity!

2.75 stars but rounding up to 3

This was cute and brought the cozy Christmas vibe that was promised! I ended up liking these characters and the dynamic of their relationship, even though I was a little wary of this setup in the beginning based on the first two books set in this universe. It was a new experience for me, reading a grumpy/sunshine trope where the FMC was actually considered the "grumpy" one. However, I tend to get picky with the grumpy/sunshine trope, and to me, this kind of felt like the FMC was not actually grumpy and she just kind of got randomly defensive and snappy out of nowhere and then would just go back to normal at the drop of a hat. And the MMC was not really sunshine-y either, he was just a nice guy with an incessant need to fix everything. Also, the ending left me a bit unsatisfied. I think both characters brought interesting personal issues to the table that I would've loved to seen actually addressed, but I feel like it got kind of rushed and glazed over in the last 20 pages or so. I really wanted to know how Kira's self-healing journey went!
