I really enjoyed this story! The narrators were great, but the southern accent of the MMC was going in and out and this threw me off a little, but overall a great book!
I just love Abby and her dynamics for her characters. She writes fantastic situations and sensations and this was done so well with angst and tension. The audio brought all that to my ears in a great way.
I had a hard time getting into this one. It read like high school/YA with spice. The voices were even juvenile. I didn’t care about the characters. But it was an interesting concept.
So Wrong - Abby Millsaps
This book was super weird. Hunter and Greedy (yes that’s their names) meet and begin to fall for each other. When Hunter's mother introduces her to her new fiance…. Greedy’s father… Things change for her. She runs. He stays and they are thrown back together when their friend Levi gets injured playing football.
It’s weird because I don’t understand Hunter’s rationale for anything she does. Greedy literally doesn’t move on and wants her so bad it made me cringe but I couldn’t stop listening. I am also now impatiently waiting for book 2 to see what happens next, especially after Greedy get’s hit with that bombshell.
It was well written and it's going to be one of those series I will love to hate.
4 stars
64% in and I just couldn't do it.
My goodness, I really pushed myself to finish this and I just couldn't.
I wanted to like this book so bad. I just couldn't connect with anyone. I didn't care what was going on, I couldn't focus on the story or the characters. It's just a big nope from me.
DNF 64%.
Overall I wasn't feeling the story. It felt rushed. The narration was good though. I do kind of want to read the next book to see if the story can pan out and redeem itself.
Overall it was ok but I got easily lost listening to the audiobook with 3 POVs and dual timelines. It just wasn't for me.
The characters seemed one dimensional at times and the progression of the relationships felt fake. I didn't really like any of the characters.
It definitely was not what I expected and honestly I don't think I will be reading anymore from this series.
This was a read that I rated 4 ⭐️ right after finishing it. The more I think about it after the fact, the more I downgrade my rating. I’m standing by my 4 ⭐️ since that’s how I felt at the time. I enjoyed my time with this book. I found it entertaining and interesting in the moment. In reflection, details don’t line up for me. I understand the big picture but wouldn’t be able to explain details to anyone asking about it. Even some of the spice was confusing - I still don’t get the logistics of the truck situation - I know what was supposed to be happening but can’t figure out how it happened. I think this book is a fun time but wouldn’t recommend it if you’re really into details.
The narration was okay. My gripe was that whomever narrated Levi’s character wasn’t my favorite. The southern accent didn’t seem authentic, and it irked me throughout the listen.
Thank you NetGalley, Abby Millsaps, and Dreamscape Media for this audiobook ARC.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this arc!
What a cute book. I really enjoyed it. This was my first by this author and will not be my last. Great writing style! A fun and easy read.
I went into this book totally blind and I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of the storyline and the backstory. There are chapters from all three of the main character's viewpoints and I thought it added so much to have all of these perspectives. It's the start of a series so I'm looking forward to seeing where the story goes. I listened to the audiobook and the Southern drawl was a bit overdone, but otherwise an enjoyable listen.
Hunter, Greedy and Levi have been friendssince forever but seperated from each other and when Hunter come back home and Levi is hurt and hiding a secret and Hunter pretend to be his girlfriends and Hunter having feelings for Greedy things get complicated for the trio. it alsobend in a clifhanger and check TW before reading there a lot of hard topic in this book.
What a fun story. Great narrator. It made the story unfold and feel like watching a show. I loved the fast pace as well. The chemistry and tone for what is to come was perfection
DNF. The accents on audio were driving me insane and the characters were too immature. I could not finish this book and would not recommend it.
This is my first Abby Millsaps book and it certainly won't be my last. The story kept my attention and I definitely didn't know where things were going. I do need Hunter to be kinder to Greedy in book two because I am 1000% a Greedy stan. He needs to be protected. This book was messy but in the best way. And that cliffhanger will have you confused and reaching for book two asap!
Hunter is a high school cheerleader who is well aware of the cliche and hates it (slay baby girl) Even more stereotypical when she goes and falls for the opposing teams player. But oh what a man Greedy is.
Life is going perfect and they are on the brink of starting college and their lives together when Hunter gets invited to her mom’s surprise engagement party.
The real surprise here is that it’s Greedy’s dad her mom is marrying. Which makes them step siblings. Which means nothing can happen between them ever again.
Fast forward a few years and Hunter and Greedy are forced to occupy the same space while she sorts her life out. Their mutual best friend Levi is an accident and has to stay with them as well. Family pressure leaves Levi needing a fake girlfriend and Hunter is all too happy to volunteer. If only to keep space between her and her broody step bro. Sparks fly and Hunter and Levi find themselves in a situation. Or two…
If you’re into these tropes, you’re gonna love this book!
Why choose
Fake dating
Mental health rep
College romance
First love
Sports romance
(Check your triggers before reading)
I’m definitely #lovinglevi but I’m also #needyforgreedy
THAT ENDING THOUGH. I need book 2 immediately.
I spent most of the beginning of this book trying to figure out who everyone was in the present and past. Hunter dated Greedy in high school and then ran and Levi who was their best friend knew Hunter's secret. This story takes a very interesting turn at the end and I can't wait for book 2!
This story held my attention and created a world of intrigue for me. It's a why choose story and I can see different avenues opening up as we go into book 2. This is a very interesting story and I love it so far!
I listened to the audio and the narrators did a good job with this one.
Hmmm I have very mixed feelings on this one. I wanted to root for everyone. I liked the characters but didn’t love them. Not a lot happened and the back and forth between high school and 3 years later felt, very young. I kinda want to see how the revelation of the end is taken but also I have big issue with how this all went down. We didn’t really learn enough about the characters and certainly wasn’t much headway made in current timeline. Overall was ok.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this book ...well let me tell you that addiction was what I found. Pure and complete addiction. I couldn't stop listening to this audiobook until I finished it. I was hooked.
In general, the story is about three friends who are brought back together by "life" after being apart for several years. There are a few secrets being kept that you can tell will cause some issues at some point. And there is a lot of unresolved heartache being "swept under the carpet."
The story is told in two alternating time lines. It goes back to how everyone met and then jumps ahead to present day. By doing things this way, you get a solid feel for why the characters are how they are. You get a feel for the difficulties they experienced. It's a well developed storyline and really flowed well. I liked the characters and connected with them. My heart broke for them all in different scenes.
Since I was listening the audiobook, I can only speak to that version of the book. It was done really well and I truly enjoyed it immensely. The narration was "spot on" and really felt pretty solid.
Thank you to NetGalley.
So Wrong by Abby Millsaps is a captivating start to The Boys of South Chapel series! This book is a whirlwind of emotions, steamy romance, and complex relationships that will keep you hooked from start to finish. If you feel like you’ve met Hunter before, YOU HAVE! She’s Joey’s BFF from Abby’s Boys of Lake Chapel series (now complete!)
Hunter, Greedy, and Levi's tangled past and present make for a gripping narrative. The story alternates between their high school days and now, revealing deep connections and lingering pain. The chemistry between the characters is intense and electric! 🔥
Greedy’s possessiveness and Hunter’s internal conflict are portrayed with raw emotion. One of the most powerful moments is when Greedy declares to Levi, "She's mine." It sets the stage for the emotional rollercoaster that follows.
If you're a fan of second-chance romances, steamy love triangles turned harems, and stories that tug at your heartstrings, So Wrong is a must-read. Dive into the passionate, drama-filled world of South Chapel and prepare to be swept away!

This is the first book in Abby's new series The Boys of South Chapel. Abby has a way of drawing you in from the start of her books. This one was no different. Her characters are so good and she has a way of making you feel so connected and attached to them. I absolutely loved Levi. He's just so sweet. I can't wait to read the next book in the series especially after that cliffy!!
I absolutely loved this audio. It was fantastic and the narrators did such a great job bringing this story to life.
