Audiobook review: YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO THE AUDIO! Wow, The star of the show was June (who plays Hunter) she is now my favorite female narrator. I could listen to her all day and she does sexy so well. The guys were great too but, she stole the show. As a whole, this is an audiobook I highly recommend. You'll love it!

I knew going into this book that it was going to be an emotional read. I thought I had my heart prepared but still, this book broke my heart. 😢

The characters were so well developed that I felt like I was falling in love right alongside them. I also was emotionally wrecked with them.

The story is told in a “then and now” pattern that allows the reader to see where it all began, where it all ended, and where it all could go.

Hunter was a fantastic FMC. She’s struggling and trying so hard to be strong. Her mother really messed her up emotionally and she’s trying to heal. I loved her friendship’s with both Levi and Greedy. Everything starts off in a textbook love-at-first-sight way and it gave me all the warm fuzzies.

The chemistry between the 3 of them was so good. I am a huge fan of why choose romances so I couldn’t wait until they were all together. (IYKYK) 😉

I am anxious to see how their story progresses in the next book! There’s a character that’s introduced at the end that I am SUPREMELY interested in. 😍

That ending literally had me GASPING! I would highly suggest mentally preparing yourself for a cliffhanger and to already have book 2, 𝐒𝐨 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, downloaded so you can dive straight in.

This book deals with some heavy topics, so please, make sure you protect your mental health and read the trigger warnings before reading.

If you love why choose romances that start off as friends and progress into something so much more, go add 𝐒𝐨 𝐖𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐲 𝐀𝐛𝐛𝐲 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬𝐚𝐩𝐬, to your TBR today. The audiobook was absolutely phenomenal. All of my audio girlies definitely need it!

Having enjoyed the Boys of Lake Chapel series I was excited to see Hunter getting her own series because I needed answers when it came to the tension with Greedy.

That being said, I really struggled with this one because of how it was written and I genuinely hate the miscommunication trope so so much.

The narration, which is fantastic in my opinion, is what honestly kept me hooked because if I had read this as a hard copy I’m pretty sure I would have DNF 🤣

OH THE ANGST! Oh my, my heart still hurts. So Wrong is everything that made me fall in love with the brilliant and emotive storytelling of Abby Millsaps. Tragically broken but beautifully resilient characters, complex character arcs where pain and sweetness are seamlessly interwoven, emotionally complicated character chemistry, and a wonderfully tender but unflinching exploration of the impact of direct and indirect trauma. So Wrong is full of heartache and gentleness and fierce emotions. The chemistry, the swoon, the steam, the SECRET- it’s a rich and resounding and utterly addictive beginning to the characters’ whose stories I was desperate to see unfold after Lake Chapel. I could NOT put this mesmerizing story down- I’m completely a goner for all of these characters and their heartfelt and intricately woven destinies.

After the Boys of Lake Chapel, I was so thirsty for Hunter to get her own HEA. And for Abby to uncover what I knew was a deep and life altering history with her now estranged stepbrother Greedy. I knew her story would be just as heartbreaking and turbulent as Joey’s. Abby never fails to deliver substantive character journeys- at times triggering, usually painful, but also full of hope and healing and restoration. And my goodness do we get that, or at least the beginning of it. Temi and Greedy. But we also have Daisy and Duke, with the return of their best friend, southern chamfer Levi. The history! The complications! The unresolved feelings and the broken spirits. But most of all, the secrets. There was so much more to lovable Hunter’s exuberant bravado than I expected. So much emotion, as their past collides with their present. And in both they must confront past and present trauma…and past and present versions of themselves. A reckoning is coming.

HUNTER. My girl. I loved her so, and now my heart beats for her in a whole new way. So much we didn’t know or see…and so much still to unpack and explore. This vibrant and beautiful best friend has so much broken in her- so much she’s masking. She broke my heart. Greedy- I feel even more madly in love with him. He’s just so GOOD at his core, a beautiful boy who loved and lost, now a man full of longing and regret. His patience, his gentleness, his unflinching love and devotion truly shattered me. And the surprise that is Levi- the gentle, ostracized, stoic sweetheart. The stalwart supporter who now needs his friends, but who now emerges from the background in a way unexpected. My goodness I loved them. They are all broken in their own ways, all unbreakable tethered, and all so very lost in their own pain and insecurity and their very big feelings. They captured me heart and soul. Abby creates such vibrant and rich and compelling characters- you are consumed by their pain, by their hearts, by their hope.

Told in the past and the present, the narrative perfectly pieces together their history as they try to figure out their future. Abby writes about trauma and heartache with such deft care- there’s a tenderness to it, but also an unflinching courage. These characters are truly a mess…and they keep making it more complicated. There is so much unresolved between them, because each has yet to confront the hurt and damaged part of themselves…yet. It’s clear their connections, their love for each other is both their lifeline and a wound. They’re all trying their best- to adapt, to heal, to take care of one another…even if it harms themselves. Even if it’s a half truth. But it’s clear that hiding from each other isn’t the way…especially for Hunter. They're all raw and exposed and hearts all at risk….and now I need more!

The audio is really well done. The content of this story is heavy and emotive and gripping- and all the narrators brought just the right amount of intensity and gravitas. A beautiful and emotionally rich listen!

Hunter, Greedy & Levi

I went into this book blind as blind as a bat. I have never read anything by Abby Millsaps, I did not read the blurb. All I knew was I remember seeing it all over my bookstagram feed when it was released back in May. SO, when I saw the audiobook was up on NetGalley, I immediately requested it, no questions asked and was fortunately gifted a copy!

I'm glad I'm someone who likes a why choose romance, because going in blind I had no idea this was one, or that that's basically all Abby Millsaps writes!

I was seriously impressed given this is a second chance romance with a dual timeline. I LOVE a dual timeline book when it is done properly, however to balance multiple timelines AND multiple relationships within a poly/why choose situation? Wow, Abby handled it well!

I adored the nicknames between Hunter & Levi and Hunter & Greedy. Hunter and Greedy's relationship in the past was focused heavily on the physical, but I was captivated by Hunter's friendship with Levi. Levi's character is fantastic. I love his development and back story.

There are so many good tropes in this book. Abby has also packed an emotional punch by tackling so many difficult topics (people should probably check trigger warnings).

We were hit with that cliffhanger at the end that I think was an interesting choice. We knew Hunter had ties to europe/the UK because she spent so much time there, but to introduce an entirely new character who will undoubtedly be added to this relationship is a bold choice by the author. I respect it.

The narration was great as well. June DeBorahae, J. River Pierce and Liam Dicosimo did a good job. I seriously appreciate that they had a different narrator for each character - even the MMCs, because I find far too frequently it can be difficult to differentiate between MMCs when they're performed by the same narrator.

Thank you to NetGalley, Abby Millsaps and Dreamscape Media for the ALC!

🎧 The audiobook of 𝙎𝙤 𝙒𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 was so perfect. I already adored this book but being able to listen to Hunter, Levi, and Greedy tell their story greatly enhanced the reading experience. 10/10 recommend doing the audio for this wonderful book. The narrators, June DeBorahae, J. River Pierce, and, Liam Dicosimo portrayed these characters so well. The raw emotion and chemistry between them was palpable. Absolutely flawless.

I’m a sucker for a why choose romance. 𝙎𝙤 𝙒𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 delivered. It was an emotional ride and THAT ENDING?! 🤯 I need more. I really enjoyed getting to know Hunter, Greedy, and Levi throughout 𝙎𝙤 𝙒𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜. I’m very much looking forward to future books in the 𝘉𝘰𝘺𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘭 series. I cannot wait to see how everything plays out!

Even better the second time around. The way Abby writes these characters is so refreshing. They are dealing with such heartbreaking things. And the spice!! Phew, so freaking hot. Don't mind me while I listen to the truck scene on repeat 🤭
I knew the cliffhanger was coming, and I still was upset the book ended. Can't wait to listen to book 2!

I already ADORE this series and was so excited for the opportunity to listen to the first one and be re-emerged into the lives of Hunter, Greedy and Levi. The narrator’s chosen for this book were SPOT ON. Hunter was fantastic, the accent for Levi was a little different than in my head but that’s ok. The dual timeline is done well. It blends in with the present day time perfectly. These are such great “why choose” and I cannot wait to continue on with the rest of the series.

This was well penned plotline and the characters were amazing. I was listening to the audiobook and I enjoyed reading it. Each character was given sufficient scope to contribute to the plotline.
I had a great time reading this.

I have no idea what I want to happen! I'm hoping for a why choose but honestly, step brother and his best friend is hot too 😂

This book is beautifully written around a really sensitive topic ♥️

I love the then/now flashbacks, it really builds suspense!!

Roll on book 2!! I need more, like now 😂

After reading & loving the Boys of Lake Chapel I was excited to finally get Hunter and Greedy’s story.

What I was for sure expecting? Really good spice and some kind of cliffhanger that would leave me desperate for more.

Things I wasn’t expecting? For it to be so sweet and kind of a slow burn. And I was not expecting falling in love so hard with Greedy but I’m not mad about that.

I did this on audiobook and I loved it but I might have to read So real with my eyeballs because I cannot wait that long to see what’s next!

I was given an ALC of this book and my opinions are my own.

Abby!! Ma’am! You did my baby Greedy DIRTY!! He is to be protected at all costs! I also need to know more about Spence, because even though he spilled the tea, I have a feeling we are going to come to love him just as much. This book was a lot of back and forth between high school (then) and three years later (now). Hunter & Greedy are high school sweethearts, with Levi as their bestie to complete their trio. But something tragic happens, then circumstances get complicated and things fall apart. This is messy, tragic, but so damn beautiful. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!!

Thank you Abby Millsaps for the ARC!

I've been looking forward to reading this. I'm so happy to have had this opportunity to listen to the ALC. I was a little worried about the dual timeline and multi pov with an audiobook, but it transitioned well. I felt connected to the characters and felt the chemistry. I will be sure to read the next book in the series when it comes out!

dnf at 55% (alc/read along)

im going to be honest and say most of me not liking this is on me, i hate dual timeline (didnt know it was one so im giving myself a pass on that lol) and im not the biggest RH/WC fan (esp when it is mfm but im trying and again didnt know lol). so overall i should have tried to research a bit more the ins and outs of this, however i didnt want spoils so.. whatever

however, i simply think if you are going to have 3 POVS AND a dual timeline things need to be 1)a little more fast paced. 2) more detail on what the actual heck is the plot and point to this story. i dont really think anyone should be over halfway through a book and not understand where the story is going and what is going on. also i read someones review to where they mentioned the WC aspect of the book doesnt even start to occur till after 85%… which again just no. LOL

i think greedy (garrett) is exactly as his nickname states greedy and possessive. hunter needs to speak the hell up about whatever is going on with her (again, something i feel i should know over half way through a book but again whatever.) and levi is just kind of there? there is next to nothing going on in his pov that i have learned other than hes stubborn, injured and has a piece of shit bigot of a mom.

over all listening to this, i was bored and agitated and i just dont care enough anymore to try and stick it out to hopefully learn more than a crumb about these three characters.

this was unfortunately my first book of abby’s i wish it wasnt but i will eventually give some of her other writing a try as i have one of her physical books gifted to me by valentine and the mention of hunters bestfriend thats in a poly rh in this book intrigued me so ill probably look for whatever the title of that book is at some point

This was… weird. The female narrator was wonderful and the writing was honestly spectacular. The story though, it was a little disjointed to me. There was just so much going on at once; Three POV’s, two timelines, and a whole bunch of trigger warnings.

Did I like it, yes? Question mark intentional there. The characters were all likable in their own right, it just kinda felt like they all got thrown (in bed) together for not reason other than to all be together.

The ending was a total shot out of left field and definitely leaves you wanting more, even though it is hella jarring.

I had already read this book and loved it so much. I knew the audio would deliver and boy did it. If I didn’t already love this I love it even more. The narrators brought this to a whole new level. All the emotions, all the stars, will forever recommend this series to everyone who loves why choose.

Hunter deserves the world and beyond.

I feel like this book was missing something to make it a great read for me. The constant back and forth made it a bit difficult to keep my interest and I wasn't a big fan of the ending. The concept of the story was great and I did like the relationships that formed between the three main characters. I am just now realizing that these characters are part of a bigger cast from the author's other novels and maybe that is the piece I'm missing. Still a good read but does end on somewhat of a cliffhanger so you'll want to read the next one right away.

The audiobook narration was done well by June DeBorahae, J. River Pierce and Liam Dicosimo.

Thank you to NetGalley and the the publisher for access to the ALC in exchange for an honest review.

So Wrong is the first book in the Boys of South Chapel series and can’t be read as a standalone. I am so happy to be back in this world and finally get Hunter’s story! I loved her in Joey’s books and love her even more now! I absolutely love Abby’s writing and how she has you fully immersed in the story. I flew through this book and that ending has me wanting the next book now! I loved everything about this book…the angst, the back and forth timeline, the spice, the pining, the heart and emotions…everything! I can’t wait for book two!

I listened to the audio and highly recommend it! June DeBorahae, J. River Pierce, and Liam Dicosimo all did amazing jobs of bringing these characters to life for me. They had me sucked into the story from the very beginning!
