ALC Review:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Juliet Monroe moved to her sleepy town to escape childhood trauma. Working from home and content keeping to herself, she has avoided making connections with most of the townspeople. But when Juliet discovers she has a new next-door neighbor, she knows there will be no avoiding him. With a plant in hand she bravely introduces herself. Will her new neighbor be the key to creating lasting relationships, or will he push her further into social isolation?
But He’s My Grumpy Neighbor is the first book in Annah Conwell’s But He’s a Carter Brother series. This is an interconnected series. Each book follows one of the Carter brothers as they find love.
Book one is filled with popular tropes such as: grumpy/ sunshine, opposites attract, and enemies to more. In addition, mental health plays a large role. Two of the characters suffer from anxiety and as a result, panic attacks ensue.
This is the fourth audiobook by Annah Conwell that I have had the pleasure of listening to. As with all of her previous books, I found it to be enjoyable. Leanne Woodward and Evan Sibley did a great job narrating. They brought the story to life with their voice acting.
If you are looking for a sweet romance, I recommend checking this out. I plan to continue with the series. I look forward to seeing how the remaining Carter brothers’ stories unfold.
Special thanks to Netgalley, Dreamscape Media, and Annah Conwell for allowing me to listen to this book in exchange for my honest review.
I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.
Adrian and Juilette were well written characters.
Juilette had me laughing especially when Adrian first moved in. Adrian’s family was just amazing. Their dynamic was just so well done and made me continue with the series. The only complaint I have is that I wish the chemistry better Adrian and Juilette would have come across a little stronger.
The narration by Leanne Woodward and Evan Sibley was just perfect for this story.
I don’t usually go for cozy romance novels, but when I saw But He’s My Grumpy Neighbor on NetGalley, I decided to give it a try as a sweet audiobook listen. This book delivered exactly what it promised: cute, whimsical, and delightfully lighthearted. I loved watching Adrian’s character evolve from a gruff “beast” to a gentle “puppy” under Juliet’s care, while Juliet found her own confidence through Adrian’s steady strength. They really felt like a perfect match. While it’s not on the level of a Nicholas Sparks romance, it was a charming, uplifting read and an easy listen. I especially appreciated how clean it was—no coarse language or graphic content! Now, break over, back to fantasy ;P

I enjoyed the story arc overall, but the narrator(s)? were too off with their accents to really get into the story. The FMC is supposedly from California, born and bred, yet the narrator for her character has a Canadian or Wisconsin accent. I found it hard to get into the story with this glaring discrepancy. The MMC also was supposed to be from Atlanta, Georgia, yet his accent also had the Wisconsin lilt to it and I was just too annoyed by these issues to really get into the story. In thinking of the story alone, I think if I had read the physical copy of the book instead of listening to the audiobook, I would have definitely enjoyed it more. In all, I would rate this 3 stars.
I will always love a good clean romance, especially on audio. I will ALWAYS read a book by Annah, but when I saw this book available as an audiobook on Netgalley I RAN to request it.
Grumpy x sunshine never fails to miss but the fact that our FMC calls him "Sunshine" as a joke 😂 I was dying. Totally underrated.
Their playful banter and adorable tea obsession had me obsessed with every single second, while the deeper pieces with family trauma and personal growth had me crying when necessary. I felt all the emotions.
Honestly, if you’re in the mood for a book that's basically a Hallmark movie, look no further. The dual POVs let us see Adrien's grumpy charm and Juliette’s relatable quirks, making it impossible not to root for them.
The narrators were also perfect for each character and exactly how I imagined they'd sound. They embodied the characters PERFECTLY!

Huge thank you to Netgalley for the ALC in exchange for an honest review ❤️
I believe this is my first book or audiobook by Annah Conwell and it was fantastic! She has definitely gained a lifetime reader!! This is a beautifully written story and the characters were well developed! And the narration perfectly captures the essence of the story!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
I loved how Juliette and Adrian are together and how they help each other and their anxiety. They were an adorable couple and they had me kicking my feet and giggling. I am so excited for more books in this series because this one was so fun and sweet. This was so great!
She fell first (and she fell hard) but who could blame her when Adrian seems like such a dreamboat. Grumpy sunshine isn’t my favorite trope but it’s a good one and this one gives a good version of it. There is a super cute neighborhood that draws you in and the romance on top of it makes it a good read (or listen).
4⭐️ Audiobook ARC Review: I don’t know why I put this one off for so long, but I finally got to it, and oh my heavens, this book had no business being this cute! Definitely my favorite by Annah so far.
Adrian and Juliet were so freaking adorable. As opposite as they could be, they just fit. They seriously couldn’t have been more perfect for each other. I can’t even explain why their romance was so adorable but it just was. Let me take it a step further by saying their romance is probably the most adorable I have read ever. Did I just say that?
So to put this book into one word, it would be adorable. The story, the romance, the characters, the town, the brothers, everything was so darn adorable.
The narrators themselves just felt perfect for these characters. I don’t say that often, because male narrators are never good enough, and all the female narrators sound similar to me. So I am just content with these narrators. They did a really good job and did these characters justice. I also don’t recommend audio often, but in this case, this was a good audiobook. Highly recommend.

Grumpy hero + forced proximity = a book you know I’m going to love!!
I loved this sweet story, the great banter, the big family, and the cute small town! I enjoyed both character’s journey to opening themselves up to love and trust.
This is my first book by Conwell, but it definitely will not be my last!
⭐️ 3.5/5. This was a cute grumpy/sunshine story where the two main characters love drinking tea and lowkey act like they’re in their 70’s 😂 There’s self-discovery, hidden baggage, lots of cozy scenes, humor, and a sweet ending. 🫖
But he’s my grumpy neighbor - Annah Conwell Book 1 of But He's a Carter Brother
Super cute rom-com with an adorable sunshine/grumpy dynamic!
We are introduced to Jules and Adrian. Adrian just moves in next door and as they reluctantly become friends, they both open up in ways they never have before. Both have pasts and they connect on a level neither of them were prepared for.
It was sweet and I really connected with the characters. It made me giggle and made me tear up! Best kind of small town romance! Great narration and I will be waiting for book 2.
4 stars
Really enjoyed this romance!
The characters are super loveable and definitely grumpy x sunshine, they both have their own experiences and traumas and you find out more about them through the pages.
Narrators were amazing! I need more books about all the brothers 🤭
Perfect romcom that would make a great movie! The characters were relatable and likeable and you really wanted to see that happy ending. Juliette was wholesome and sweet and wins over the grumpy and closed off Adrian, who is also a great person battling internal issues. Can't wait to read more in this series!
This is a closed door, small town, enemies (not really enemies but reluctant) to lovers, slow burn romance.
The audiobook was well done and I listened to it in 1 sitting (at work).
But He's My Grumpy Neighbor by Annah Conwell was super cute. I love a grumpy/sunshine romcom, and this one delivered! Adrian seems like a grump when he moves in next door - but we get to see that he is really a sweetheart underneath that gruff exterior! Jules was a wonderful FMC - I loved her POV and her sunshine vibes.
No explicit scenes, but very sweet.
Leanne Woodward and Evan Sibley did a wonderful job with the narration!
I loved this so much. Both MCs are strong and assertive, and their chemistry was great. I would say this is a grump X sunshine trope book, but she calls him sunshine, and I find that so cute in retrospect! It's super cozy, easy to read and overall enjoyable. I'm loving the introduction that Adrian's brothers got was so enticing! Can't wait to get my hands on the next books in the series now. Honestly, the dynamic between all the side characters in the book with the MCs should be a blueprint for other authors. They're all super fun, love their people, and know when to push them. Listening to this in the audio format was just perfect, with the narrators doing an awesome job of voicing these lovely MCs. I don't know if Juliette's best friend has a book for her own romance story, but I'd love to read that too! Gonna add all of Annah Conwell's books to my TBR right now!

Sweet story. Likable characters and a fun time. Entertaining quick read.
Adrian may be a bit of a grump but he loves deeply. His family and then Juliette have his devotion.
Juliette is our sunshine. It was great to see her gain confidence.
Definitely one to keep
