I’m going to start out by saying that the lower rating is me, not the book. The content warning at the beginning outlined that the book is PG- no sex, no swearing, etc. I didn’t realize that when I requested it from NetGalley as I otherwise would have passed. That said, it was very good for what it was- cute, cozy and quirky. Juliet and Adrian navigate their anti-social and/or anxiety issues to become friends and eventually more. I enjoyed the narration. It was a cute and easy listen!

I read this earlier this year and loved it so much!! I love this series and all of Annah Conwell’s books I’ve read so I was so excited to reread this on audio! I loved the narrators — they felt like they fit the characters so well.
I kept wanting to listen to it and finished it very fast! I would highly recommend this read physically and the audio! Sweet wholesome romcom and no spice!
Book 1 in a new series
Juliette is lonely. She ran from her past and chose her cozy cottage on a lake outside of Atlanta for the solitude. Her neighbors are all senior citizens and she craves someone her age to talk to. When a hot guy around her age moves in, she perks up. But Adrian is perpetually grumpy. Still, when they keep running into each other she thinks she is wearing him down. Until he outright rejects her and she is emotionally thrown into her past where no one, not even her parents, wanted her.
This was an okay read for me. On paper, it should have been great. It is more than fluff- both characters have things from their past to get over. They are in an adorable community full of crazy senior citizens. But something was missing. While Juliette and Adrian's relationship was adorable, it lacked chemistry. But it also felt like something else was missing, too, but I can't figure it out.
Leanne Woodward and Evan Sibley narrate the audiobook. It is mostly ok, but parts of Adrian's POV were obviously redone and dubbed in. It was very noticeable when that happened.
I received an advance audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

Book 1 of 4 standalones that follow each of the Carter brothers.
Series Name: But He's a Carter Brother
I loved this cozy contemporary romance. Although there was fade-to-black instead of some spice, I did enjoy this for all of the tension, angest, pining, and swooning.
Two people who decide they prefer being alone move into a very quiet retirement neighbourhood..... next door to each other.
*que cheesy romance novel*
Bahahaha but no, it wasn't cheesy, and quite refreshing.

Thank you to netgalley for the alc in exchange for an honest review.
This was super cute! Juliette lives in what I would deem a retirement community. I loved the people of the town, gave me Stars Hallow vibes with their community meetings. Adrian moves in next door to Juliette and he just wants to be left alone. Juliette, though, thinks he needs friends and has volunteered herself to be his first.
Watching Adrian go from a huge grump to a super protective friend was everything. The way these two make each other better by just being around 🤌 lt was closed door with just a few kisses, but I definitely still felt their chemistry.
Thank you Annah Conwell, Dreamscape Media, and Netgalley for my #gifted ALC.
An adorable Grumpy/Sunshine set in a small town retirement community.

I loved watching Juliette work through issues from her childhood with Adrian as a support. I loved watching Adrian find someone he cared enough for to want to work through the issues he had from the last in learning to trust someone again.
These broody Mr Darcy types always end up holding the most depth to their affection!
The audio readers were both great!
