The Vanishing Wife is a solid book, second in the series, and I’m excited to read more. This book was fun, full of twists and turns, and kept me guessing until the end. I loved the character development, multiple point of view and how the timeline was laid out.

Loved loved this thriller. I was in a major book slump and this was the fast paced psychological thriller I needed to get me out of it!

This, the second Leigh Brody book is about her friend Elyse whom we met in book one.
It starts off strongly, and with a host of twist turns and revelations keeps you reading. I’m usually good at working out what’s going on, but this one certainly threw a few things at me I didn’t see coming, and if the ending has anything to do with the next book there will be more revelations to be revealed.
This is not my usual genre however, I really enjoyed this read.

I fell for Agent Leigh Brody in the first book of this series, The Girl Who Survived. Leigh’s battling cancer, she also struggles internally, and she has a gripping backstory. I also like her determination to get to the truth even if it’s at her own expense. I loved the plotting in this story and found myself immersed from start to finish. Fans of mystery, thriller, and police procedural will love this series.

I loved Nichole Severn's first book in the Leigh Brody series and was so excited to receive book 2 as an ARC. Thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing. Wow, this book not only is super fast paced, but had so many twists and turns! Leigh Brody is back and on supposed to be on medical leave following surgery. She shows up in Alabama after getting a weird voicemail from her close friend Elyse. Elyse is missing and there is blood all over her beachfront cottage. It's a race against the clock to figure out what happened. I loved this book, and hope there is more Leigh Brody in the future!

Wow! This book had son many unexpected twists and turns. It kept me guessing until the end. It was like a ride on a roller coaster. But it was a great book. I enjoyed that it was so different from the many mystery books I read, that it kept my interest. I cannot wiat for the next one.

FBI agent Leigh Brody is just recovering from surgery so is on leave for a few weeks when she receives a message from her friend that gets her worried and is soon a on a plane to see her. When she gets there her friend is missing and there is blood on the floor and no one knows where she is.
This is a great book for those who like a fast paced detective story.

I was looking forward to reading this and it definitely doesn't disappoint. So many twists that have you eagerly turning the pages. If you got a call from a friend needing help wouldn't you do anything to help them? I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys suspenseful thrillers.

The Vanishing Wife was another great addition to this series! FBI criminologist Leigh Brody has been on leave recovering from surgery. She has very few people that she has let into her inner circle but her friend Elyse Portman is one of the chosen few. Elyse and Leigh met through Leigh's doctor's office. Elyse was there for Leigh through her medical procedure and now Leigh needs to be there for Elyse. The Portman family has been vacationing at their Gulf Shores home and Elyse has gone missing. She left a message for Leigh and even though Leigh is still recovering, nothing will stop her from finding her friend. As Leigh works with a local police detective, she keeps coming up with more questions than answers. When a local teenager goes missing, Leigh wonders what is really happening in this idyllic beachside community. The Vanishing Wife was a great, gritty mystery/thriller. It was told from dual POV and kept me engaged until the final page. It stands alone in the series but if you haven't read The Girl Who Survived, I recommend reading that too.

I have long been a fan of Nichole Severn and this book didn't disappoint, having read the first book in the series I was well clued up on the lead characters unbelievably hard background, it wouldn't have mattered had I not read it because the author inserts the relevant bits in this story.
Leigh Brody, agent in the FBI Behavioural Analyst Unit, is on medical leave following surgery for cancer, because of her background, Leigh has few friends but quickly made a friend of Elyse, the kind, caring person who was with her every step of the way through her traumatic surgery.
When a message from Elyse asked for Leighs help she didn't hesitate to fly to Alabama where Elyse and her family were staying at their holiday home. What Leigh didn't know was that she would walk straight in to a crime scene, Elyse's husband, Wesley was acting strangely, their fourteen year old daughter looked blank, the floor was covered in blood..........and Elyse was missing.
Local detective, Henrietta Moore, was in charge of the case and had initially rejected Leigh's interference but she back tracked when she realised that Leigh may also be able to help her trace her young niece who was also missing,
As this story unfolds, Leigh is threatened with dismissal from the FBI if she continues to work the case, more people go missing, bodies are found and the main culprit appears squeaky clean.
This story is action packed and suspense filled, it throws out red herrings right, left and centre, it twists and turns and once more agent Brody's life is in danger. I had no idea how this story was going to end and in my view that indicated a good thriller. At the end, the author cleverly drops an unexpected bombshell which leads neatly into the next book.

The vanishing wife book Two in the Leigh Brody series and after enjoying book one I was keen to see the development of the series with book two.

Leigh (an FBI agent on medical leave) receives a voicemail from her friend Elyse who disappears shortly after the call is made and despite being on medical leave Leigh hot foots it Gulf Shores and can't help but find herself at the centre of the investigation.

The author has developed a tenacious vulnerable character and really brought her to life on the pages in terms of her psych and behaviour.

An intense gripping read that had me engaged and invested.

I do believe you have to read book one to fully engage with the story and the character of Leigh.

"The Vanishing Wife" by Nichole Severn was a solid 3-star read! This is the second book featuring FBI agent Leigh Brody. Despite being on medical leave after surgery, she is called to Gulf Shores, Alabama, to assist Elyse, her only true friend.

The story alternates between dual timelines, following both Elyse and Leigh. It moves through a "before and after" structure as they each work on their own investigations, which eventually intertwine. However, I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first one. At times, the pacing felt slow, and there was an overemphasis on characters "memorizing" unnecessary details, like the layout of a room or hard water stains in a shower.

Leigh teams up with Detective Moore from the local police department, who was probably my favorite character. She was strong-willed, assertive, and clearly in charge. Like the first book, there were plenty of twists, although none were quite as shocking as before. The ending, however, felt a bit off, especially given how meticulously things had been planned up until that point.

Overall, while this book didn’t quite live up to the first in the series, I’ll likely continue reading the next book in the Leigh Brody series.

I really enjoyed this book! It was an easy read and had me invested from the start. I was slightly disappointed with the ending because I found it slightly predictable but otherwise it was a great book full of twists and turns throughout

This book is an easy read and by that I don’t mean simple but it follows a well thought out plot over two timelines which conjoin towards the end. Elyse is at her holiday home on the Gulf in Atlanta with her husband and 14 year old daughter. We encounter her after she returns home from a run with head and shoulder injuries and no memory of how she acquired them. We are introduced to Elyse’s best friend, a FBI detective who while on medical leave received a message from Elyse that she needed her. I’m not going to give away the story but suffice to say the writing is tight, the characters are well described and the tension will have you turning pages quickly.

Leigh gets a call from Elyse, her really good friend, and she sounds very distressed. Leigh fits to Gulf Shores to help immediately.upon arrival, Elyse is missing and blood is all over her kitchen. Her husband and daughter have no clue where she is. What has happened to Elyse and can Leigh find her in time?

I liked this sequel better than the first one in this series. Still a few questionable connections and how unaware the wife was of her husbands financial actions..and other things that were not very believable.

Now, this book is actually the second book in this series but can definitely be read as a 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚. It was absolutely 𝙛𝙖𝙨𝙩-𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙙 and 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜, exactly the way I love my thrillers! I am in love with Detective Moore and Agent Brody’s relationship!

Second book in this superb psychological thriller series by the very talented Nichole Severn and I have to tell you I am usually good at working out the who and what but this one had me guessing as we kept getting twists and turns that changed my thoughts on the bad guy. This makes this a book that you won't want to put down until you turn the last page
