The premise of this one is so good, but the characters are just perfect, I loved folllwing Evie as she pieced her life back together and corrected mistakes. I wanted to love this one and I think it's a me problem based on general reception. I found this to be long winded and while I understand that the MMC was protecting the MC as she pieced out her past, I think some steps would have realistically played differently. I did think the ending and how everything connected ended up making sense.

This is one of those rare books you just can’t put down. Evie wakes up in a hospital room believing she’s still 16 and in the height of her teenage years. The problem: she’s in her late 20s and she’s just survived the crash that killed her husband Oliver, yet she has no memory of their time together or ever meeting. At the funeral, she has a chance encounter with a photographer named Drew as they work to piece her life and memories and story of her life back together. Unbeknownst to her, they both carry secrets that could tear their lives apart even further and she can’t even begin to imagine the trajectory her life actually took.
This was such a beautiful novel that explores the human psyche and just how much our choices impact others. From grief to family ties and more, this was full of heartbreak but also hope and new beginnings. I couldn’t put this down and read it in almost one sitting. Another great Emma Grey novel!
Thank you to Zibby Books for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

From the first page I was swept up in this entertaining story. Evie wakes up in the hospital with no memories after the age of sixteen. She doesn’t remember her husband, her home, or the life she was apparently living. And where are her parents and best friend? They seem to have vanished. As she sets out to discover what is happening and reclaim her life she encounters Drew who goes on the journey with her. As it turns out Drew knows more about her than he lets on. This book is fast paced and engaging. I love a second chance romance and this one is so well done. Loved this book!

I really enjoyed this one! In true Emma Grey fashion this is not your typical romcom. The premise of this one is new and fresh. Evie is in a crash with her husband, Oliver. When she awakens she can’t remember anything of her recent life. She thinks she is back in high school and 16 year olds she’s shocked to learn that she is newly widowed and Drew, her Uber driver at the funeral is not an Uber driver at all.

I loved the slow unraveling of plot points in this one. It was full of surprises along the way and I enjoy how Gray incorporates real life problems and some heavier topics into her love stories.

Pick this up for a fresh twist on a romantic read.

Evie wakes up in the hospital thinking she is 16 years old. When she finds out she is almost 30 and her husband, who she didn’t know she had, was dead, Evie understandably freaks out. It doesn’t help that she can’t seem to get in touch with her parents or her best friend. When things start to come out, Evie starts to realize that she didn’t exactly love the person she had become and this weird amnesia may be giving her a huge do over.

I have gotten to really love Emma Grey and she is becoming an auto read for me. This book was no exception. It was beautifully written and the story was top notch!

Evie Hudson wakes up in a hospital room after surviving an auto accident that killed her husband, Oliver - completely disorientated thinking she's still 16 years old. She has no memories of anything that has happened in the intervening years. She has no way to reach her parents or best friend Bree and doesn't recognize any of the people are actually in her life. A chance encounter with a photographer outside Oliver's funeral takes her on a journey to find her parents and recreate the years she lost. This is an interesting look at seeing your life from the outside and forcing yourself to confront the decisions you made. This had me from the opening pages until the very end.

I absolutely LOVED Pictures of You. It's real, raw, emotional, romantic and envelopes you as you read. It will make you believe in a second chance at love and forgiveness. I thought The Last Love Note was a great book, but I think Pictures of You is Emma Grey's best yet!

OMG I loooooooved this book so much! I love a second chance story about the "one who got away" and I couldn't get enough of this one. Loved the dual POV as well as the past/present timelines - this was woven together perfectly. Loved this one so much.

I am keeping my review short and to the point to prevent any potential spoilers because this, my friends, is one you want to go into completely blind. I knew I loved Emma Grey’s writing style as soon as I read her previous book, The Last Love Note.

As soon as I saw she had a new book releasing, I jumped at the chance to read it. And my goodness, it did not disappoint. With characters who feel so incredibly real, a dynamic plot line, twists and turns throughout, and the inclusion of real world issues, make this a winner through and through. Trust me, you need to read this one.

TW: There are a few. Please make sure to check triggers beforehand if you are sensitive to them.

Thank you Zibby for the advanced copy.

Short synopsis: Evie wakes up in the hospital after an accident that killed her husband, but she doesn’t remember anything after her teenage years.

My thoughts: I’ve been trying to figure out how to write up my review for this to avoid spoilers, and briefly just thought of doing crying and angry emojis. But this book made me feel all the feelings. Pain, anger, tears of sadness and happiness, shock, grief, nostalgia, you name it.

I absolutely adored Drew. He was such an amazing character and friend to Evie, especially when she didn’t deserve it. I loved finding out her memories along with her as the timeline from her teen years slowly unfolds to the present timeline.

I did not expect so many shocking moments and unexpected twists. I knew going in this would make me cry. The Last Love Note was one of my favorite books of 2024 and this is immediately one of my favorites of 2025. I will read anything Emma writes.

Read if you love:
- Dual POV
- Alternating Timelines
- Books with big emotions
- Amnesia
- Second chances

Thanks to Zibby Books for the ARC!

THE LAST LOVE NOTE destroyed me last year, so PICTURES OF YOU was one of my most highly anticipated reads of 2024. WHEW DID IT DELIVER. If you need an emotional rollercoaster of a romance, this is the book for you.

About the book: Evie Hudson wakes up after a car crash that killed her husband and landed her in the hospital... but instead of grieving, she can't remember anything since she was 16 years old. With the help of her high school best friend, Drew Kennedy, she starts to piece togther what happened and who she is now.

My review: *insert all the emotional emojis* What a story. Not only is the amnesia piece top-notch, but the reveals were SPOT ON. There were so many good twists that just added to the gut-wrenching emotional story, and the romance storyline was so sweet and perfect. I love Drew. What an ode to second chances even though hard, hard circumstances.

Thanks NetGalley and Libby books for the ARC.

What Evie will unearth, discover about herself and her life since over a decade, is sure to change the course of their lives.

Review -

Oh my goodness! If anything could’ve lived up to Emma’s previous book #TheLastLoveNote, it had to be this. Her writing has matured leaps and bounds - every single sentence has a lyrical quality and poignancy to it. It was utter bliss to experience the prose in the book.

As the crash becomes a life defining moment in Evie’s life, the division between her present and past was not easy to unpack. But @emmagreyauthor rises to the challenge - portraying Evie’s existential crisis and previous timelines with great care, nuance and delicacy.

The crux of the storyline relies on how the mystery element behind Evie’s current state of affairs is handled, as well as the suspense behind the impossibility of past circumstances that might have catapulted her into this chaos - both emotionally and intellectually.

As the pieces of her past unravel slowly, several difficult themes are imbued into the story, while also exploring extraordinary friendships, the ambitions and dreams of someone full of life and light like Evie, the heartache of love, the joy of photography and the bioluminescent magic of life if we care to see.

It all comes together so naturally in the end and by this time your heart has shattered 💔, cried in agony, seethed in anger, sang in merriment and awe 💓- stunned with every revelation of truth.

Read it, feel it, experience it.

Highly recommend! If you read one book this year, make it this.

At the very start of this book, Evie wakes up in the hospital and is told she and her husband were in a terrible car crash; she survived but he did not. But she has amnesia and doesn’t remember anything past being 16 years old. The book alternates between Evie trying to figure out what she missed down and track down the parents and best friend who are apparently no longer in her life, interspersed with flashbacks to Evie’s life from age 16 to the present.

I loved this one, even if at times I wanted to give young Evie a good shake! There were a lot of serious and heavy subjects, but it’s written with a light touch. It felt like a combination of Liane Moriarty, Jojo Moyes, and Sophie Cousens. I also loved Emma Grey’s first book The Last Love Note - this one was different but also really good!

Another of my very favorites of the year. A car crash followed by amnesia drives a young woman to search for her friends and family and put the pieces of her life back together. I loved this story.

(4.5) I simply devoured this. After loving The Last Love Note, I have been counting down the days until this book released so I could hold it in my greedy little hands. Immediately, I was so sucked in and before I knew it I read nearly 100 pages without even blinking. Okay, not really but it flew by. I don't know if there was speed reading magic laced in these pages, but I seriously could not put it down. The back and forth timelines, the dual, and all the missing pieces just made this an absolutely gripping story. I might have ignored a few responsibilities so I could binge this, but shhh. I adore Grey's writing style. It's easily digestible while being beautifully scripted. I love that both this book and her previous had love at their center, but focused on so many different emotions. The way this story is crafted made these characters feel incredibly real. I was a bit shocked by the route it went there for a bit but such a great story!

Thank you NetGalley and Zibby books for the e-arc.

If you knew then, what you know now, would you make the same choices?⁣

When Evie wakes in the hospital after a devastating car accident, she learns her husband Oliver died in the crash.⁣

But that’s not the only loss. Evie doesn’t remember Oliver. Or most of her adult life. ⁣

She panics at the funeral, not knowing anyone - Where are her parents? Her best friend? - and runs right into the arms of a complete stranger who helps her leave the strange situation.⁣

But is Drew really a stranger?⁣

I loved The Last Love Note by Emma Grey and yet again, she has written a story that hits you in the gut right out the gate and has you in an emotional chokehold the entire story. The writing is compelling and engaging and the plot propels you along at a breakneck speed with masterful, surprising twists. ⁣

I enjoyed every minute of this unforgettable story and I think it’s the perfect read for fans of Emily Giffin, Colleen Hoover, and Liane Moriarty. Or, like me - big fans of Emma Grey. 😊

What a binge worthy read! It gave me “Mayluna” vibes. I loved the hint of mystery, the multiple timelines and the two POV. I read it in one sitting and appreciated the depth and layers of the story. This one is really good! Thank you for the ARC!

I loved The Last Love Note by Emma Grey earlier this year and was thrilled to see she had a new one coming out today. I went into this pretty blind, only knowing a young woman wakes up in a hospital and remembers nothing of the last 13 years of her life.

The story is told through two POVs, alternating between Evie, the young woman, and Drew, a photojournalist who rescues her. Their stories are told through alternating timelines of their teen years and as adults. There are several interesting twists and although I could clearly see what was happening between young Evie and boyfriend Oliver I couldn’t stop reading. My heart broke for Evie and what she went through.

Pictures of You does tackle some heavy topics but with compassion and grace. It offered a layered view of how toxic relationships can evolve almost before anyone knows it’s happening. This was definitely an emotional read that was compelling and unique. The ending seemed a bit abrupt - but it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of this novel. 4.5⭐️
