I’ve long been a fan of Torre’s work, and while this one is one of her darker thrillers, it was less twisty than those I’ve read from her in the past - I found myself waiting for more to happen and perhaps didn’t temper my expectations accordingly.

I still very much enjoyed and will look forward to more from her in the future, but this will not rank in the top of her books for me, unfortunately.

Ohhhhh boy this was so twisty and fun! I adore AR Torre's thrillers. This one especially - I love a psychotic manipulative gaslighting lying woman. There were so many layers to the story so readers are excited throughout the whole book. It's not a slow burn. There is plenty of conflict and foreshadowing throughout so I was coming up with theories and guessing the whole way.

I loved the multiple POVs and narrators. I binged this in two listens because I just couldn't put it down. I listened at 1.75x and that was perfect. The different narrators made it really easy to keep track of who's talking.

There was one or two twists I predicted but there were quite I few that I was not expecting at all.

Do you love insane controlling narcissistic women? Yep then read this book.

Woah, this audiobook had me hooked from the very first chapter and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It had everything I want in a thriller and I absolutely loved it!

Look I LOVE a diabolical, unhinged FMC, but Perla?!!

Perla is a special type of awful. Not one single redeeming quality to be found 😶😳

I figured out one of the main connections fairly early, but I still had a great tome listening to this.

I really enjoy A.R. Torre’s writing so I’m so glad I had the the opportunity to read/listen to this one early!

4.5 ⭐️ I adore the start of this book! Perla is shockingly badass and I loved being in her brain!

It took me a little longer to warm to Leewood, but once Arby’s made an appearance, I was hooked and hungry

We hear from multiple people and I admit the format and puzzle pieces did have me confused at first. Although I loved the narrators, the audiobook format was a little jarring and it took me a minute to figure it out….

Each chapter opens with the name of a character. However, what proceeds is a future witness statement (not by the named character) then, the chapters starts from the POV of the named character… I found it confusing and had to playback the first few times it did this. Maybe it’s less confusing in book format

The chapters are short and fast, and the puzzle pieces do come together, but it takes a little time for it to become clear

I loved not guessing any of the twists and can’t believe I didn’t!

My only note is that I wanted more Perla. She was so focused on the party, for so long that we didn’t get to see more shenanigans, like the diner scene at the start, which was an absolute hoot

The reveal, twist, ending were all pretty spectacular and I’m crossing my bits for a sequel

Two timelines and multiple POVs had me hooked from start to finish with this beauty. I couldn't wait to see how the book came together and I didn't have to wait long. There was always so much happening with quite a few twists. This is definitely a page turner you don't want to miss out on reading. I was lucky enough to listen to the audiobook while reading my ebook which added to my enjoyment of the book.

PERLA WULTZ is a typical wealthy wife - into plastic surgery, working out, and organizing and decorating her fabulous home to perfection. Perla is also cold, calculating, and a bit unpredictable. GRANT is a loving husband and father, a bit distracted at times with his bird watching. SOPHIE is a precocious preteen, full of excitement and plans.

Meanwhile, LEEWOOD FULCRUM is serving a life sentence for murdering his daughter Jenny, and her friend on Jenny’s birthday years ago. The Fulcrum murders have been thoroughly discussed on true crime podcasts and news shows for years.

But someone has plans to recreate that murder, and as Sophie’s birthday draws near, can this murderer be stopped?

I recommend going into this one blind, as I did. My jaw literally dropped when I discovered the diabolical scheme!! I literally had COLD CHILLS as I listened to the last quarter of this one, and I stayed up way past my bedtime (on a work night!) just to see what happened!

The action moves quickly and promises to keep the reader (or listener) totally engaged! The story unfolds with multiple narrators, as well as through snippets of statements from concerned neighbors, friends, and law enforcement. The past is also gradually uncovered with startling revelations in the present. The audio production is excellent with multiple narrators. Whether you prefer to read this or listen to it, thriller lovers, DO NOT MISS THIS ONE! Alessandra Torre is now one of my auto-buy authors!!

Okay, I went into this book completely blind. And I am so so glad I did. The twists, the drama, the outlandish characters, and mostly.. the outrageous plot and ending.. I loved it!! I did not expect, even though i should have, that wild twist and perfecto ending! I highly recommend this to all the thriller and twisty family drama lovers!

The Last Party is an unhinged, dark thriller about a rich mother and a notorious murderer and the secrets the bind them.

Perla lives a seemingly perfect life with her husband and daughter in their gated community. However, Perla is hiding a past and a connection to an infamous crime. As the past and the present entwine, the deceptions behind the murder begin to surface. But who’s deceiving who?

This was INSANE. I was hooked and also anted to finish the book to get away from it. Perla was definitely a memorable character. Another hit for AR Torre.

I liked the premise of the story and the twists. I did not enjoy what it took to get there. There is a lot of unnecessary description and it’s extremely slow.

O.M.G.!! This was a super crazy twisty thriller to listen to. Perla is nothing but manipulative!! I loved every second of this story. Connecting the past events to the present and uncovering the mystery was thrilling. The twist was clever and well executed. If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers, you are sure to enjoy this one!

I really enjoyed listening to this story. About halfway into it I started to see where things were headed. The twist at the end was clever and I could possibly see another book with Sophie as an adult. Overall, THE LAST PARTY is a book I'll remember and can recommend if you enjoy psychological thrillers.

OMG…a crazy twisty thriller that I listened to in one sitting!!! If you love characters with “no moral compass” then Perla Wultz is the woman for you. Evil, conniving and calculated are just a few words to describe this woman!!! BUT I loved every second of this story and the narration is amazing!!!
