This talented author has written a page turner. Secrets and red herrings…guessing…plotting…family and friends…the main character has a little girl…the father has run away…chaos…trying to discern the ending is difficult. Thanks Netgalley.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. This was an enjoyable read, although the plot had strong echoes of Norton's previous book. However, this did not detract from my engagement with the book, I liked Gemma and Poppy, and Norton switched between the two characters' perspectives well, clearly capturing their voices. I felt that some threads of the story were switched between too quickly, but overall, it was a good book. I enjoyed the characters of Gemma's parents.

When Crystal comes into Gemma’s life, I knew there were things that wasn't being said. Crystal showed up when Gemma was having a breakdown at work. The more I read, the more I had to read because I couldn't figure out what Crystal was up to. I read the book in one day, and it captured my attention, both in reading and where my mind was going. When it was finally revealed, it wasn't what I thought, which made it a much better read. I received an ARC from Boldwood Books through NetGalley.

This is such a heart rending and powerful read. A mother will do anything for her child and this came out so strongly in this novel. I read it in a day, it's thart good!

Really enjoyed this book. Although it was an easy predictiotable storyline I couldn’t put it down! Thank you for early read.

Loved this book!! I couldn’t put it down. I started it in the morning and finished it in the evening and didn’t get anything done in between.
