I enjoyed reading the book very, very much. DI Lauren Pengelly and DS Matt Price smartly worked well on the solution for the murders in the Camborne region. The story is full of twists and a very surprising end. DC Ellie Naylor's help was decisive for the outcome of the case.

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the opportunity to read "The Camborne Killings" in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is the 4th book in the "Cornwall Murder Mystery" series and it gets better and better with each new book. The stories are carefully crafted by the author, she has developed the characters into people that the reader will care about. The mysteries are gripping, the details are accurate and you just want to keep turning the pages to see what will happen next.

This story takes place between Sunday 14 July and Saturday 20 July. At a farm near Penzance a man appears and says he's had an accident and needs help.

DS Matt Price has an old colleague from Lenchester visiting DC Ellie Naylor is a research whiz. The team in Cornwall claim that Matt brought the "murder vibe" with him from Lenchester. He has also brought a calming effect on the team, Lauren is much less frosty than she was before Matt arrived in Cornwall. They make an excellent team and balance each other out.

DI Lauren Pengelly and Matt are called to the farm where they find Carmel Driscoll has been murdered. A note with 'ten green bottles' written on it is left next to her body. They learn that she is a retired police officer. The following day they find another body with another note 'nine green bottles', and learn that it's retired police officer Jayne Freeman. Thanks to Ellie helping the team out they learn that the two officers used to work together in Camborne. They also learn that the Chief Constable was the DCI in Camborne when the victims worked there. When another body is found DI Craig Garland with another note, and also a retired officer from Camborne. Lauren realizes that they have a serial killer on their hands who is targeting former police officers.

What link is there with a gangster who died in a Spanish jail? Why did someone buy 5 knives? How does the murderer know the victims and where they are living?

Things become convoluted involving the Chief Constable, his wife, his girlfriend, gambling debts, a killer with nothing to lose and the new head of the Whitlock gang having ties to the Chief Constable.

Lauren, Matt and the team piece together all the clues and find a complex case involving many moving parts and shocking revelations. Ellie gets seconded to the team while Tamsin recovers from her broken leg. Dani gets her longed for play date with Lauren's dogs Ben & Tia. Looking forward to the next case(s) that arrives in Cornwall.

The Camborne Killings by Sally Rigby is a very highly recommended procedural and the fourth book in the Cornwall Murder Mystery series.

Detective Sergeant Matt Price has a former colleague from Lenchester, Ellie Naylor, visiting him in Cornwall when Detective Lauren Pengelly calls him about a murder outside Penzance. When Lauren and Matt arrive at the scene they see an older woman who has been killed. There is a note left by her body reading "Ten Green Bottles," which is part of an old English nursery rhyme. Since the department is down an officer, Matt ask Ellie, who has exceptional research skills, if she could assist. She quickly identify the victim as Carmel Driscoll, a former police officer, and additional helpful information for the investigation. When a second former officer is found murdered with the note "Nine Green Bottles" nearby, Lauren and Matt realize they could be dealing with a serial killer.

The Camborne Killings is a well-written, fast-paced murder investigation with ties to a decades-old case and the Camborne Criminal Investigation Department in the 1990s. The fast pace helps keep interest high while the complexity of the investigation, rumors of corruption, and the sense that more victims could soon follow create an intense atmosphere that will have you glued to the pages.

The team is working increasingly well together with Matt helping Lauren temper her abruptness with others. It was good to see Ellie providing excellent assistance to the case with her research skills. These are known characters for those who are following the series and author, but those new readers can easily read The Camborne Killings as a standalone novel. Thanks to Storm Publishing for providing me with an advance reader's copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary and expresses my honest opinion.

The review will be published on Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

A great read, set in lovely Cornwall, the detective crime story will get you turning that pages fast. It’s fast paced from the start and gets more interesting as the book goes on. The characters are relatable and fit with the story. Sally writes really well and knows what’s she talking about, looking forward to the next Lauren and Matt book.

A brilliant crime 5 star read.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.

Thank you for the chance to read this ARC in return for my honest opinion

This is the 4th book in the series and whilst it is possible to read any of the books as a standalone novel they would have much more context if you have read the whole series - and I recommend you do.

This was a well written story which had obviously been well researched and like the other books was a police procedural book. I did wonder if an officer would be able to work for another Force while on leave but presumed this had been checked out.

This was a convoluted story about murder, corruption at the top level and life unfurling for many of the characters. To say more would provide unnecessary spoilers so I won't say anymore.
I really enjoy this series - the relationships developing between the close knit Police colleagues and being set in Cornwall is a bonus. Though there seems to be a lot of murder in a small underpopulated county.

Hope there will be more to come - a great read.

Always intriguing to read a book about someone with a huge grudge making a comeback. What makes it even more interesting is when that someone starts killing off former police officers. Add a bit of police corruption, and bam, you know it is a great read. The story takes the reader back to an age-old case that people have forgotten about, but naturally there are always some who remember, at least the ones involved.

Another great add to this series set in Cornwall, one definitely worth reading!

The woman is dead, stabbed in the heart. The note next to her, held to the floor by a knife blade, reads “ten green bottles”. DI Lauren Pengelly and DS Matt Price have only begun their investigation when another body is found, killed in the same way. This time the note reads “nine green bottles”. Both victims are women and both were former police officers. Pengelly and Price are desperate to find the serial killer before another officer is murdered. Then they link the deaths to the Camborne Station and long past behaviors and cases. Could the killer be someone they know? Or work with?

Sally Rigby’s excellent Cornwall murder mysteries are must reads! A cast of characters you want to meet and an atmospheric location combine with a plot full of surprises to make The Camborne Killings impossible to put down! I cant wait for the next in this outstanding series! 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Storm Publishing and Sally Rigby for this ARC.

The body of a woman found murdered in her barn begins a thrilling hunt for a serial killer. Detective Lauren Pengelly and her partner Matt Price and the team, are called in to investigate what seems like a random murder of an ex police officer but when another body with the same m.o. is found, they have begin to suspect there may be more deaths.
The story was interesting and twisty, my only problem was the authors repetitive nature, but other than that the book holds your interest and keeps you reading. Thanks to Storm Publishing and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. I enjoy her work.

Another brilliant book in this Cornwall series. I have read and loved every one and this is just as amazing as the first three. I love the dynamic with Lauren and her team. Fast paced storyline that gripped me from the first page and didn’t let go. A must read and a great author if you haven’t read any of her work yet. I highly recommend this book/series and author. A solid 5 stars from me.

A difficult case for Lauren and her team, as ex police officers are murdered. Fast paced throughout with unexpected revelations. Excellent from start to finish. I received an ARC copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Another great mystery, I devoured it in two days. They’re such great stories and have you gripped from the very beginning. I cannot wait to get the series for my friends because everyone will love it. It’s not based at one age group, all ages and all genders will love it.

I didn’t give it five stars as they are my truly wow books and books I cannot get over however, I really enjoyed this and will definitely be recommending it to friends.

Perfect book to get me out of my reading slump. Post on Instagram will follow

Cornwall Murder Mystery Book 4.

I was hooked from start to finish. It kept me reading til the early hours. Loved it.

A chilly morning mist blankets the Cornish countryside, shrouding the barn in an eerie silence. Inside, a woman lies motionless, her unseeing eyes fixed on the rafters above. A blood-stained note flutters in the breeze. Her death is only the beginning…

Detective Lauren Pengelly and her partner Matt Price are called to investigate a grisly murder outside Penzance. They quickly identify the victim as Carmel Driscoll, a former police officer, and find a cryptic note reading “Ten Green Bottles” next to her body – words from an old English nursery rhyme.

When a second former officer is found murdered with the note “Nine Green Bottles” nearby, Lauren and Matt realise they could be dealing with a serial killer. As they race to uncover the deeper connection between the victims, they discover this quiet part of Cornwall harbours some dark secrets. The key could lie in a decades-old case, thought to have been buried long ago…

With officers' lives on the line and rumoured corruption reaching the highest levels of the police, Lauren doesn't know who to trust. Could the killer be hidden in Lauren's force… maybe even within her team? And can she catch the monster before they strike again, or will she become the final verse in this twisted countdown?

Three and a half stars.

The fourth outing for DI Lauren Pengelly and DS Matt Price. Two female former police officers have been found murdered in identical circumstances with cryptic notes left besides their bodies indicating that they may only be the first two of possibly ten murders.

Detailed investigation suggests the only link between the two women, who lived in different parts of Cornwall, is that they both worked out of Camborne Police Station in the 1990s. With the fear of further murders happening in quick succession, the team have to find out the truth fast, and it might lead them to higher echelons of their own force. But with the truth buried back 30 years ago it won't be easy.

This series is growing on me, Matt is becoming less of a smug git (albeit his sanctimonious mansplaining to Lauren of historical sexism and harassment of women in the police was a bit OTT), and Lauren is becoming a more rounded character.

Looking forward to the next one, although I would like to see more development of personal lives, at the moment its a bit same-same Matt works and can't be with his daughter Dani, Matt, Dani, Lauren and her two dogs go to the park, rinse and repeat each book.

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley.

DS Matt Price is happy to see an old colleague from Lenchester, DC Ellie Naylor, when she comes to visit him in Penzance. Matt is called away to a crime scene and along with his boss, DI Lauren Pengelly, they have a puzzle to solve. There is a cryptic note left on the body of Carmel Driscoll, a former Police Officer - saying "10 Green Bottles"! This leads Lauren and Matt down a rabbit hole of finding answers to this clue and how it connects when a second body is found with a second cryptic note - "9 Green Bottles"! I love how the characters interact with one and other and their working dynamic is great. It is well written and the locations' descriptions made me see the place in my mind. All the sub plots come together to lead to an ending that I never saw coming.

An interesting story with likeable characters. Not everyone is brilliant as in many mysteries. Good hard police work to solve the crime. Good read.

A solid police procedural with an excellent crime solving team full of great characters who work well together 9as a cast, not always as a force!) and a great mystery to solve before 1 green bottle is reached!

I have found a new team to root for! Matt is excited to have his pal, Ellie who is on vacation, join his team to solve murders that are occuring. HIs boss Lauren is a little skeptical, but can't deny her talents in finding information.

When former police officers start to die, it ultimately ties back to corruption in the ranks, as well as a killer who has nothing to lose, and a scorned woman who feels she had everything to gain.

I loved not only the partnership of Matt and Lauren, but the way the entire team worked together to find information to solve the crimes. While many of the clues link to the past, there is no denying that there is something sinister going on in the present, and the team work to find a way to stop the murders.

I really enjoyed this and it makes me want to go back and read the previous book for more back story on some of the characters. I will for sure look for more from this author.

Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for the opportunity to read the book and provide my opinions.

2* DNF - the writing is amateurish and there's no way 2 completely separate police forces would/could cooperate like this. Seriously, the 'telling', the dialogue, the thoughts of the characters are on a GCSE- English level, not a professional one. Had to leave this 2 chapters in.

As with all Sally Rigby’s books, this is a thoroughly enjoyable read and is recommended.
If you are not familiar with her work, you are missing out.
