Thank you so much to @hachetteaus & @netgalley for this early review copy of this book! I got Sing Me To Sleep in one of my @fairyloot boxes last year and really enjoyed! It was the perfect mash up of all my favourite YA Fantasy tropes π₯°. The main character was a badass, sassy, strong girl which I always LOVE! The political intrigue and history of the world was fascinating and there was a mystery throughout that I was so invested in.
I was really excited to pick up the next sequel, (although I canβt say too much because spoilers). My favourite part was expanding on the fantasy world from the first book and discovering so much more! There was a bit less romance in this one but the scenes we did get I absolutely LOVED π₯°. There was lots of mysteries I was intrigued by, and the second half in particular I was hooked and needed to know what would happen!
My only critique for this book is that it felt like the ending wrapped up super suddenly. In my head there was a third book (I donβt know why π
) and when I looked it up after and realised itβs just a duology, I was sad. I feel like there was a lot of build up and then it all seemed to be solved super quickly in the last like 20 pages, which has left me feeling a bit unsure π€. Aside from that though, I did really enjoy.
Would definitely recommend this duology if youβre looking for an easy to read, enemies to lovers, YA fantasy with a brutal FMC whoβs a SIREN π§ββοΈπ
