Another sweet story in the "Jitters" series by Julie Danneberg, this time with Mrs. Hartwell's class excitedly preparing for an author visit. After the announcement the teacher is noticeably missing from the pages illustrating author visit preparations, which discerning readers will start understanding why.

This whole series is great for an elementary school library. The books will be enjoyed by students and used by teachers and librarians to prepare students for a the variety of activities that happen during a school year.

Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. These opinions are completely my own

Fun story with bright lively illustrations. There is nothing quite as fun then prepping for a class visit. it brings an excitement that the author captured beautifully.

Julie Danneberg adds another book to her Jitters collection with Author Visit Jitters. Mrs. Hartwell loves doing fun things with her class. When she arranges an author visit the class springs into action. Mrs. Hartwell reads some of the author's books to the class as they prepare. The children discuss their favorite books, brainstorm questions, and prepare welcome decorations.

A fun addition to the classic series, this book ends with a delightful surprise. I love author visits and imagine reading this book will help students prepare for a novel experience. I am grateful for authors who take the time to discuss their process and characters with children.

I really enjoyed this book!

I thought that the book was well written and the story had a good flow to it - I read it with my daughter and she wanted to read it together in one go.

The story is based on an upcoming visit to the school by a famous author and the preparation for this from the teacher and her pupils in class such as making a banner and decorating the chair for the author to sit on with balloons and ribbons - I won't give away any spoilers but it has a fun twist and a great ending!

Julie Danneburg is a new author to us, but will be certainly looking out for more of her books in future now as we really enjoyed this one!

It is 4 stars from me for this one - highly recommended!

My heartfelt thanks to NetGalley and Charlesbridge for generously providing me with this ARC of Author Visit Jitters, a delightful creation by Julie Danneberg and Judy Love!
It was such a fun and exciting surprise to see a new book by Julie Danneberg! I grew up hearing First Day Jitters and the others in this beautiful series about Jitters at school. But what was most crazy was the timing of seeing this new book! I am a Children's Librarian for 3-year-olds through 4th grade. While lesson planning this summer for my library classes, I wished there was a book about preparing students for an author visit! This book was all those things and more! It talked about organizing, our excitement, questions we may develop, how we may behave, reading the author's prior work if available,  what to expect, and more.
The best part is that I have an upcoming event in my school's library, and we are hosting a children's author to present her new book to my Pk3 to 1st-grade students. This Author Visit Jitters book works perfectly for my students to read before this author comes, and I am just elated that this came out! My students will feel inspired to prepare questions and maybe decorate or draw pictures to show appreciation. We also will be reading this author's work before she comes to read and how perfectly this book explains and shows all the things we will be doing. Julie Danneberg, you are a genius and beyond talented, and Judy Love, I just adore your illustrations!
As you can imagine, I was over the moon when I discovered this book. It's an incredible resource that I can now share with my students before our author visits at school. AHHH, thank you again for this ARC!

Julie Danneberg writes another wonderful story about the jitters, focusing on an upcoming author visit. The teacher leads her class in activities to prepare for the upcoming author visit. It's a cute book with a wonderful ending.

Having used multiple books by Julie Danneburg within my special education classroom, I am excited to add this one into the mix. As a school that tries to bring one author a year to speak to the students, I love that this reiterates the activities we also do to greet an author.

Julie Danneberg’s Jitters series has always been one of my favorites to read aloud to my students, I usually start my year with First Day Jitters because I love how it validates the feelings of anxiety and excitement that are always felt in September by students and teachers,

Now I have another fantastic Danneberg book to add to my classroom library as soon as it’s released. As the students enthusiastically prepare for a visit from one of their favorite authors, their teacher leaves briefly only to return with a wonderful surprise for everyone.
