What a wild ride reading this book was. This is the second Natasha Preston book I've read. I had a couple moments where it dragged for me but other than that I enjoyed this book.

Natasha Preston did it again! She has this captivating writing style and she never runs out of murder mystery ideas. Such an amazing book and has outdone herself!

This book earned every single one of its five stars. I spent the whole book trying to figure out the twist- who to trust, who did it and why. I changed my mind several times and I was wrong every time. I was originally concerned that the ending would be cliched, but I was staring at the last page, shaking my head and grinning to myself as I processed it. There's a reason I will always pick up a Natasha Preston book.

It was a slow start but I still loved this book. It was quick and easy to get through. Once I got past the slow start and the first incident happens I couldn’t put it down. I kept coming up with my own conclusion which I was right about half of it. Natasha Preston is my favorite YA author. I appreciated being able to read this book before it came out.

I was excited to receive this as an ARC! Absolutely love the cover.

This YA read kept my attention during a long plane ride, helping the time pass quickly. I was able to read in one sitting! I felt transported into the decrepit castle. The ending was unexpected but believable and satisfying.

The Party by Natasha Preston is a gripping mystery thriller that immediately drew me in and kept me engaged until the final page.

I enjoyed this book. This is the third Natasha Preston book I have read and I do like her writing even though I know I will get a cliffhanger/ambiguous ending. This was a bit slow to get into but it does pickup. I liked the setting of the old castle. It kept me guessing as to who the killer was.
What I didn’t like was trying to keep all the characters straight, I believe there were 9 of them and most had really unusual names.
But I would recommend this book to anyone who has read and enjoyed Natasha Preston’s previous books and know how she ends her books.

A teen party with no parents in a remote castle. What could go wrong?

It was supposed to be a fun weekend party with no parents in sight. Then someone ends up dead and they have no way to leave the castle. Bodies stack up and no one knows who did it. This book was a thrill ride from the moment they arrived.

I was constantly wondering who was behind all the bodies and weird occurrences. I kept making theories of who I thought it was then I would change my mind. I wish the ending didn’t end with a cliffhanger but it definitely added suspense.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc. I absolutely love the idea of a remote creepy castle and people dying one by one. Natasha Preston's books are always a treat. It did start a little slow, but I liked "meeting" the characters. The twist caught me off guard, and it was brutal!

Natasha Preston can do NO WRONG!! I’ve read almost all of her books and I have loved every single one. This one was so fun! I loved it

I continue to pick up Natasha Preston’s books, and continue to struggle with why she is popular. This was better than others, and I definitely read it a little faster, but the characters were pretty awful and some of the dialogue made me cringe. Will think twice about reading another one as I continue to be disappointed unfortunately.

Natasha Preston does not disappoint! I'm one of those people who always figures out who the killer is in the first few chapters and then spends the rest of the book yelling at the characters for not figuring it out too. Her books, though, are some of the best, and you might figure out part of the solution, but I guarantee you haven't figured out all of it! Her books are famous for ending the book with a big *gasp* moment. It seems all wrapped up and everything is going to be okay for whoever managed to survive the bloodbath, but wait....

I love it!

I honestly didn’t enjoy this book. The characters were mediocre at best and the story itself had a lot of pacing issues. It was too slow at times and other times things happened so quickly I found myself having to go back to figure out what had just happened. The twist at the end was okay, nothing that truly was groundbreaking. This book was just personally rough to read and enjoy.
Thank you so much to Random House Children’s and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this title.

It was a slow first half. BUT - the YA thriller aspect was very good. The ending was. Bit rushed and confusing.

Bessie and her nine friends go to a creepy rundown castle in the middle of nowhere to party. A storm hits and traps them there. They are not alone and begin being stalked and killed. This was an exciting read full of action and had great twists and turns. Thanks NetGalley and Random House Children’s for this eARC that will be released December 3, 2024!

The Party by Natasha Preston had an intriguing premise with a remote castle, a deadly storm, and a killer among friends, but it took too long to dive into the heart of the story. The suspense only started building halfway through, making the first half feel slow. The ending left me with mixed feelings—it was both surprising and frustrating. While the atmosphere of the English countryside was gripping, the pacing and conclusion kept it from being a standout thriller for me.
