Thank you Berkeley for this gifted ARC.

What an absolutely brilliant conclusion to a series! This hits all the feels. I tried to read slowly to savor it but I was only moderately successful at it because this was so good.

Angel is a pop R&B superstar and Iris is a makeup exec who happens to be the sister of Angel’s stylist. They met when Angel was just getting started in the business and three years later, he’s the subject of desire to screaming fans the world round.

And he’s been pining for Angel since the moment he first laid eyes on her. Iris is a widow and single mom to the adorable Calla. I love that Angel’s patience gives Iris time to open up to the possibility of loving again. It made when they did fall for each other so much sweeter.

Especially when they have to work together. For weeks. On the road. There’s the delicious tension of the will they won’t they, the complication of her not wanting to cross professional lines because he’s an ambassador for her company (which is recovering from a recent-ish scandal).

This book felt like the warmest of hugs and everything flowed in a way that made you want to live in their world. You will not regret any time you spend between these pages!

Thank you Berkley for this eArc!

I love this book and series so much! I'm so sad that it's over now. Iris and Angel's story was so sweet. Angel was so enduring and he's definitely one of my new favorite MMCs of the entire series. He was so obsessed with Iris, but not in a way that's uncomfortable. He just really wanted to get to know her and was so understanding of her concerns. And then we have Iris the working woman and single mom trying to keep everyone together after all these years while navigating her own grief! Getting back out in the dating pool is tough and you first experience with it being with a major celebrity had to be scary! But I loved how she let loose a lot more with Angel. They were able to just be who they truly are together and love them for that. They also had each other's backs relentlessly. They were so much fun to read. I also felt like this felt a little more mature than the other books somewhat. This might be due to Iris being the oldest and some of the battles she was dealing with. I know she's not much older than her sister and she's not even much older than Angel, but something about it felt a lot more mature and I really enjoyed that.

I know this is Kristina Forest's first adult romance series and I really enjoyed all three books, but what I loved the most is the growth in the way she tells each sister's story. The series was good from the jump, but it just kept getting better and better. I'm not one to determine if a book is good based on how relatable it is, but I'm definitely gonna hold this series close to me because I feel like I see myself in each sister and I really cherish their stories.

I was excited for Iris and Angel story and I definitely wasn’t disappointed because it was everything and more. Following Iris journey of getting back in the dating field after the loss of Terry definitely connected me to her. Then there’s Angel trying to be his true authentic self. I’m so happy for the outcome of this book and can’t wait to get a physical copy.

Emotional, gentle, and beautifully written, The Love Lyric was a lovely read. Iris always likes to have a plan, but now she’s a widow and a single mother, and she feels like her life is missing something. And on the night of her sister’s wedding, there’s Angel. R&B singer Angel might be successful, but he wants to have more creative freedom, and Iris might be the muse he’s been searching for and after Iris’ company’s brand tour with Angel, these two aren’t able to fight their attraction any more. I didn’t love the first one in this series—it was good, but not my favorite—so I wasn’t sure what to think with this one, but I was pleasantly surprised. There is a gentlest in this love story. The writing regarding grief and therapy was beautiful, and it just felt important to highlight. The part that felt lost to me was Iris’ daughter Calla. I wish she had been more present or that Iris was just a widow instead of a single mom because while the relationship of Calla and Iris was really sweet, it was a little flat for me. And I was annoyed there was a third act breakup. Especially because I really liked Iris and Angel together. They had strong banter and connection, and I liked seeing them grow and build each other up. They felt like not only a strong relationship, but good friends and a good team. Angel was complex and interesting and had such a boyish charm, and Iris was so strong and easy to root for. The writing in this is emotional and heartwarming and overall really tender and enjoyable.

The Love Lyric by Kristina Forest was everything I could have hoped for—a heartfelt story of second chances, vulnerability, and finding harmony in life and love. Iris Greene is such a relatable and resilient character. Her journey as a single mom trying to balance her career, her daughter, and her feelings of loneliness tugged at my heartstrings. I admired her strength and cautious but undeniable openness to Angel, who is as layered and compelling as she is.
Angel Harrison is more than just a swoon-worthy musician. His struggle with finding authenticity in his career and his longing for meaningful connections made him feel real and grounded. The chemistry between Iris and Angel was magnetic, yet what stood out was how their relationship felt like a partnership—imperfect, raw, but full of mutual respect and support.
The story also shines with humour and warmth, particularly with Iris’s daughter, Calla, who adds charm and heart. Kristina Forest masterfully weaves themes of love, loss, and self-discovery into an uplifting and emotional narrative.
This book left me smiling, teary-eyed, and wholly invested in Iris and Angel’s journey. It’s a story I’ll carry with me for a long time and one I’d highly recommend to anyone who believes in the power of love and the beauty of starting over.

This was a really sweet book. I loved both of the main characters; Angel was so tender and loving and Iris had so much strength. I adored how much they communicated with each other and the overall progression of their relationship. I also thought Iris's growth was done well, her grief over losing her husband was so raw and how she was able to move on from that in a healthy way was great to see. I felt like while some of the plot was predictable I still had a good time while reading.

Thanks to Berkley Romance for the eARC - all opinions are my own!

ARC Review: The Love Lyric by Kristina Forest

Thank you to @berkleyromance for the free copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The third book in the Green Sisters trilogy follows high achieving Iris, who kills it at her job, as a single mom, and as a thoughtful daughter. Iris takes care of everyone, including herself. She's had to be relatively independent since losing her husband at a young age and hasn't dated in the subsequent years. Angel is a pop R&B singer who has been intrigued by Iris since he met her, but Iris isn't ready to date, let alone date a celebrity. But when Angel is chosen as her beauty company's newest ambassador, Iris finds herself unexpectedly on a brand ambassador trip with Angel where they grow closer than Iris ever thought possible.

I really love Kristina's writing and her characters! They feel really fleshed out and realistic - even when one of them is a celebrity! I could totally understand each character's motivations and particularly why Iris is hesitant to pursue this relationship with Angel. I really loved how supportive Angel was of Iris and how well he saw through her armor. And I loved how she stuck up for him when his mom was awful to him!

Honestly my biggest issue with this book is that it's a celebrity romance which is just generally not for me. I found it really difficult to believe that their relationship made sense particularly with what Iris was concerned about - safety for her kid and not wanting to be in the spotlight. While the epilogue tried to convince me that she was mostly able to stay out of the spotlight, I just really didn't believe it was possible. I did think they had good chemistry I just couldn't see this relationship working out long term.

This book was a total heartwarming experience! I was so happy to see Iris find love with Angel, even though it was in the most unexpected way. Their love story was so sweet and pure. Kristina Forest did an amazing job of handling heavy topics, like grief, in a way that was both gentle and affirming. I couldn’t help but smile and swoon whenever Angel showed his thoughtfulness time and time again. I love a man who’s humble and reliable, and that’s exactly what Iris needed. Iris and Angel could be described as an unconventional pair through society’s lens considering their different lifestyles but it was refreshing. It was also nice to see the other Green sisters in the series doing well in their relationships and supporting Iris. I appreciated the great reminder that sometimes you just need someone to take care of you when you’re not strong enough to do it yourself. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who’s looking for a cute and romantic read that will make you laugh and cry at the same time!

4.5.
Kristina Forest wraps up the Greene Sisters series with The Love Lyric, delivering a heartfelt and compelling romance that beautifully balances themes of love, grief, and personal growth. This installment focuses on Iris Greene, a single mother and marketing professional navigating the challenges of raising her daughter while rediscovering herself after the loss of her husband. Angel, a celebrated musician with a surprisingly grounded personality, makes for a refreshing love interest. Their journey from hesitant coworkers to romantic partners feels authentic and deeply rewarding.

The story delves into family bonds, particularly the connection between Iris and her daughter, Calla, offering a touching glimpse into their lives. Angel’s storyline, exploring his faith and relationship with his mother, adds depth and a fresh perspective. While the romance is sweet and passionate, it’s the characters’ individual growth and their ability to heal that truly stand out.

Though the conclusion ties up loose ends nicely, some moments felt like they could have been explored further, particularly Iris and Angel’s life together after their romantic commitment. That said, Forest crafts a satisfying finale to a series full of charm and emotional resonance. Fans of diverse and heartfelt romance won’t want to miss this.

The Love Lyric is the third book in the Greene Sisters standalone series.

Iris is a single mother trying to climb up the corporate ladder in her beauty company. She doesn't have time for dating, or so she tells herself. It's been five years since her husband died and she has yet to get back into the dating pool. When famous pop R&B singer Angel Harrison makes it clear that he's into Iris, she politely makes it clear she's not interested in dating. Fate brings them together when he becomes a brand ambassador for her company and she is charged with managing his ambassador tour. Iris knows that getting involved with the talent is bad news for her career, but she can't resist the charming and kind singer.

I loved this celebrity romance! It was a great end to this series by Kristina Forest. I enjoyed the slow burn of Iris and Angel's romance. They circled each other over a span of years, and even when they went on the tour together, they didn't give into their attraction to one another right away. Forest took her time in building the tension and connection between Iris and Angel and when they finally decided to make a move, it was enrapturing.

Iris did not stand a chance against Angel. He was sweet, kind, thoughtful and respectful. I loved that he was direct with her, sharing how he felt but he also wasn't pushy when he could see she was putting up boundaries. When he pointed out to Iris that she also needed taking care of, I was in tears. Angel was seeing Iris behind that front she puts up for people and he made her feel safe enough to feel vulnerable.

Pick this one up for a sweet celebrity romance with a slow burn that will have your vibrating with anticipation!

ARC Review: 🎶The Love Lyric x Kristina Forest @kristinaforest_

5⭐️ 2🌶

Iris Greene’s life hasn’t been easy. She’s a single mom and a widow, balancing her career at a beauty company with raising her six-year-old daughter, Calla. At her sister’s wedding, Iris finally takes a moment to breathe…and runs into Angel Harrison, the famous R&B singer who’s secretly had a crush on her for years. Sparks fly, and despite trying to stay professional they don’t🤗.

I absolutely adored this book. Iris and Angel were oh-oh-oh so perfect together, and I’ve been waiting for their story ever since we got those little crumbs in the previous books. Let’s start with Iris: she was such a real and admirable character. I love when a heroine feels grounded, and Iris was exactly that—she’s juggling grief, motherhood, her career, and some very complicated choices about love. Usually, I can nitpick something about a character, but with Iris? Nothing. I just loved her.

And Angel… where do I even begin? I was nervous we’d get the “reformed playboy” arc, which can sometimes miss the mark, but Angel was perfect. Sweet, charming, and cutie-patootie. Smiling from start to finish. And the flirting? Chef’s kiss. Their banter and chemistry were just so fun and heartwarming.

This book had everything I wanted—flirting that made me swoon, characters who felt real, and a love story I couldn’t stop rooting for. Highly, highly recommend🥳!

This was my first Kristina forest book, and since reading this I picked up the partner plot and I can confidently says I love Kristina’s writing!! I find her stories to be relatively low angst and mature and when I’m in the mood for that, I LOVE IT.
The love lyrics has a FMC that’s over worked, eldest daughter syndrome and it was done so well.

Thank you so much to Berkley and NetGalley for early access to this book. I was given this after applying through Berkley’s Influencer Hub For Underrepresented Voices

This book solidified it for me - Kristina Forest is an autobuy author for me. She writes nothing but complete gold. The Love Lyric focuses on Iris, the eldest Greene sister as she navigates directing a campaign tour for her beauty company and her rising attraction to their star brand ambassador, all while still adjusting to being a widow and single mother.

I love that there were no wasted moments in this book. Every side character we met was engaging and thoroughly fleshed out. We get cute cameos from the rest of the Greene family. You can read this book as a standalone but there are very cute easter eggs to recognize if you've already read The Neighbor Favor and The Partner plot. The romance is incredible as always. The book is mostly clean with about three spicy scenes.

My pet peeve are authors writing about NYC when it's clear they haven't been here. Forest describes the city so wonderfully, like she's lived and breathed it for years. While the romance in the book was amazing, the story also serves as an excellent exploration of grief. Iris falling in love while also grieving her deceased husband was handled beautifully and with so much love and care. The moments that Terry was mentioned in the story came across as a celebration of his life and the love he gave to everyone who knew him. This book was perfect to me and I will be recommending it to all my romance reader friends.

4.5/5

He falls first • ‘forbidden’ romance • forced proximity • One is famous

“Who takes care of you?” he asked. Iris paused. “What?” “When you’re upset, who takes care of you?” “I—” She didn’t know how to answer that question. Because she didn’t have an answer. “I get the sense that you’re used to taking care of everything for everyone else,”

Thanks to NetGalley and Berkeley, I had the pleasure of reading this an ARC and Iris and Angel will forever have a special place in my heart. This story is so sweet and tender and a fantastic way to wrap up the Greene Sisters trilogy.

I couldn’t wait to get to Iris story!
This was a book I didn’t wait to start.

So many relatable moments and parts to this book. Iris is the oldest sister and daughter, making sure everyone else around is happy and healthy and safe, except for herself. Calla and Iris have lived life without Terry, as and unexpected tragedy, but Angel, Violet’s friend, has his eye on Iris.

Their chemistry, his thoughtfulness and their acceptance of what each other needs and wants and what feels comfortable kept me wanting to know what would happen next.

Thank you Berkeley Romance for this ARC! It took me a while to get invested in this story but I was hooked at about 30% until the end. I've been waiting for Iris and Angel's story since they met in The Neighbor Favor. I love that they got their love story. What an epic conclusion to the Greene sisters trilogy!

Thanks Netgallery and Berkley for the ARC of The Love Lyric in exchange for an honest review.

I am so sad. I was SO excited for this book! I enjoyed The Neighbor Favor, and I LOVED/ADORED The Partner Plot. But this one? It just didn’t work for me at all. IMO the chemistry between them Iris and Angel was non existent and their relationship felt superficial. In a book where the relationship should be forbidden, there was no tension. I really was expecting so much more. WITH THAT BEING SAID, maybe this book can work for you!

Read if you like:

🎶 Love after loss
🎶 Forbidden Romance

Again thanks to Berkley for the ARC.

As a devoted fan of the Greene sisters' stories, I was thrilled to learn that Iris was finally getting her turn in the spotlight! After becoming emotionally invested in Violet and Lily’s journeys, I found myself equally captivated by Iris. She’s a corporate powerhouse with a thriving career as an executive at a beauty company, and a dedicated single mom to her six-year-old daughter, Calla.

Iris’s life has been shaped by profound loss—her husband tragically passed away just a year and a half into their marriage, shortly after Calla’s birth. As the eldest Greene sibling, Iris is the glue that holds the family together, always putting everyone’s needs above her own. Despite her polished exterior, the story doesn’t shy away from revealing her deeply felt grief and the quiet, aching loneliness of losing her partner so early in life. Kristina Forest handles these moments with a delicate yet powerful touch, immersing readers in Iris’s heartache without letting it overshadow her strength and resilience.

When Iris crosses paths with pop star Angel Harrison, the new brand ambassador for her company, their chemistry is undeniable. Though their connection begins as professional, the campaign tour they embark on pushes them into closer proximity, and their witty banter lights up the pages. Angel’s connection to Iris’s world through Violet, his stylist, adds a natural thread that ties their lives together without feeling forced.

What I love most about this book is how distinct Iris’s story feels, even within the shared world of the Greene sisters. While Violet and Lily make charming appearances, they remain secondary characters, allowing Iris’s journey to take center stage. The novel captures the warmth and coziness of family while addressing Iris’s grief and her conflicting emotions as a mother and career woman.

Forest’s portrayal of motherhood feels especially poignant—she explores the duality of Iris’s life as she juggles the demands of her high-powered career with the tender yet complex responsibility of raising a daughter alone. The story beautifully depicts Iris’s struggle to balance professional obligations with her personal life, including navigating Calla’s feelings about her mother dating again. These moments feel real and relatable, highlighting the inner conflicts many women face when striving to excel in both worlds.

This book is everything I hoped it would be. Iris’s story is emotional, heartwarming, and full of charm, with just the right amount of humor and romance to keep you hooked. Seeing Iris find happiness after so much loss feels incredibly rewarding, and her happily-ever-after feels well deserved. Kristina Forest has once again delivered a gem that left me smiling long after the final page.
