This slow burn romance was a 4 star read for me. There was plenty of banter and the book made me tear up at times. The chemistry between Angel and Iris is undeniable. This book is a definite must read.

Thank you Berkeley Romance and Netgalley for this free copy!

After reading The Neighbor Favor and The Partner Plot earlier this year, I was looking forward to reading Iris’ story and finishing out the Greene sister’s series! And this didn’t disappoint! It was a cute read and it definitely gave summer vibes!

Iris’ story was more grown up, and Angel was a great MMC who was obsessed with her from the jump. Similar to the other books in the series, it’s kind of a slow burn and isn’t really spicy, but the romance delivers. I kind of wish we got more interaction with Calla and Angel but a cute story overall.

To say that I am beyond excited about Iris and Angel is an understatement. I have been waiting for their book ever since it has been teased about it in the previous book. And it definitely lived up to my expectations and more!

I just knew that Angel and Iris were meant to be, even though they are opposite of each other. I just think that it makes it more interesting when you aren’t the same. It also enhances the quality of our conversations and banter. Let’s get back to Angel and Iris and why I love them so much!

First, the chemistry between Angel and Iris is fire. Like, you can tell that there was something special. There was no way that Angel and Iris weren’t together. They just balanced each other out.

Second, the slow-burn romance was the best of the best. It literally made the romance so much better. It was making us desperate for Angel and Iris to be honest together, but we won’t rush it because we want them to work.

Third, the banter between Angel and Iris was so funny and so sweet. There were moments that had me laughing so hard, but there were other moments that had me swooning. The things that Angel did for Iris were so heartwarming because Iris is always taking care of others instead of herself. Angel always takes care of Iris, no matter how big or small. It’s literally the best.

And lastly, this book made me tear up a few times. There were so many scenes that had me eyeballing. But there were other moments that had crying happy tears for Angel and Iris. Their love for each other is everything.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for providing this book, with my honest review below.

I may have had a crush or two on a special R&B singer, so I was eager to go on an adventure with this book. Angel is a church boy turned R&B crooner. While Iris is a widowed mother trying to save the company she works for. Her company decides to hire Angel as their new brand ambassador to boost the brand. The relationship between Angel and Iris is a slow burn. I wouldn’t quite call it an opposites attract but Iris does overcome her hesitation to fall in love again. The author illustrates a beautiful experience of Iris acting on her feelings when finding love after loss.

In addition, you see Angel struggle with being true to his self through his music, while Iris sees some difficulty on the work front. It’s exciting to see them following their true passions by the end of the story.

As you can tell I highly recommend The Love Lyric and it smooth writing and resonant story!

This third entry in the Greene sisters trilogy is my favorite out of the three. This book explores finding love after loss and choosing to steer off the plans your have in order to find happiness. Angel and Iris both had progressive character growth individually and their relationship was an example of pursuing a relationship where both people have an understanding and love for each other.

Kristina Forest has delivered a romance that hits every right note! Iris and Angel’s story is a symphony of heart and emotion, blending the highs of R&B with the everyday struggles of a single mother. Their chemistry is terrific, and watching their professional boundaries crumble into something deeply genuine was a joy to read. Forest’s writing captures both the excitement and the tenderness of their connection, making each moment feel real and vibrant. I was completely swept up in their story. It’s a beautiful, moving, and utterly enchanting read that I adored from start to finish.
