Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Select Audio for the Advanced Audio Copy of this knock out debut book by Fallon Greer!
The book centers around lies and hidden desires. Hockey is the game he plays but BDSM is the games he loves. Elodie is a up & coming journalist just trying to stay a step ahead to get her story but when she is given the Infidelity story line on Cole "Mac" Mackenzie. When following him from the stadium to an underground club she is thrusted into a world she was not prepared for.
Mac is instantly drawn to her with an almost over protective side, and the desires for her to learn what she likes while Mac enjoys her. He gives her his personal passcode and she is brought into sign contracts and NDAs. She quickly drops the want for the story for only the wanting of Macs every desire. She tells her boss its a dead end and begins a contractual relationship with Mac.
It was evident were this was going once he found out who she was it was all going to blow up.
The character building was superb I felt like you really got to learn a little extra about each one as the book progressed. I'm a Fallon Greer fan for sure now.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 4.5 stars
I LOVED this SPICYYY debut and the audiobook narration made it even better!! Stephen Dexter and Andi Arndt perfectly captured Mac and Elodie in dual narration and I think I found two new favorite narrators. I was fully immersed in the scene and caught up in the characters, completely captivated by all of it!
Elodie was the reporter assigned to dig up dirt on star hockey player Cole 'Mac' Mackenzie. She was innocence in a den of iniquity when she followed Mac into the Scarlett Rope, a private club. When he first saw her, he was immediately drawn to her by an all-consuming attraction. He knew he couldn't let her go and then things quickly got heated. At first it was all about watching and learning and exploring the BDSM lifestyle but it became so much more!
I devoured every minute of this!! Secrets and lies were revealed and Mac's were full of juicy scandal and regrets that haunted him. And what would happen when feelings became real? Was Elodie simply chasing a story? I loved when they both had reached the point of no return and knew they had fallen for each other. I loved how Mac opened up to Elodie, sharing his deepest, darkest secrets. And I loved how family dynamics played into the plot as well as the light on mental health.
Ultimately, this was a story about control and surrender, trust and forgiveness. It was about having the courage to be your authentic self, rising above judgment and shame, and embracing what you want in life without letting your past define your future. A well written debut that I truly enjoyed and I can't wait to read Brady's story next! It even has one of my favorite tropes!

Do not be fooled by this cutesy cover, this is a spicy, BDSM, hockey romance! I feel like it was everything Fifty Shades wanted to be and never was, and there were quite a few similarities to those books but Elodie and Mac's characters were just so much better than Christian and Ana! The spice was great and I mean great, but there was so much heart and sincerity throughout that just gave it something extra. I listened to this as an audiobook and I really loved the narration by Stephen Dexter and Andi Arndt! It did feel a bit rushed at the end, and the third act breakup was a bit silly to me but I still really enjoyed this book overall!
I love a good hockey romance, but this one did not work for me. The spice felt forced, it is way too similar to 50 shades but with hockey thrown in. It has way too many similar things and I don't think that's right. It just fell really short, I was expecting something so much better.
I love me some spicy romance, but this one felt off to me. The audio was a little cringey and the spice seemed almost forced as the story progressed. I also apparently missed somewhere where it stated that this was going to be so BDSM centric because it came out hard and fast right away. Ultimately, the plot of the story got a little lost in all the spice for me and I found myself not wanting to get back to this book. The spice is spicing, but the romance didn’t romance for me here.
This was not a great book for me I should of DNF it so many times. This reminded me of 50 shades in so many bad ways. I wouldn't have a problem with the romance but once the older woman came in and how he acted I was out. But i just plowed through. I wish I didn't.
Thank you NetGalley for this audio arc in exchange for my honest review.

First off, the cover of this book has no business being so damn cute, when the story was so fantastically spicy.
Secondly, what a knockout debut! It had everything I enjoyed, dual POV, sports romance, lots of spice and a great plot line. I seriously loved everything about this!!
Mac and Elodie's story is fast paced, but we do get to see the relationship grow. Their chemistry was off the charts, and I loved all the cute dates they eventually went on. I really enjoyed Mac's backstory, I thought it was fresh and original which added a lot of depth to his character.
The narration was on point! I am a huge fan of Stephen Dexter and love just about everything I've listened to him narrate. This was the first time listening to Andie Arndt, but she was amazing! The transitions between chapters and characters were skillfully done and they both captured the emotions of the story so well.
Just read this! Or listen to it, the story and audio are incredible! I cannot wait for the next installment in this series!!

Thank you NetGalley, Dreamscape Select and Fallon Greer for this audiobook. This is my voluntary, honest review.
3/3.50 stars. I heard a lot of people compare this book to 50 shades, which I totally agree. In some parts, almost too similar. I did like how there were other issues going on in the book but if you know me, insta love is one of my least favourite tropes. Those were the main reasons for the 3 start rating. Otherwise, I thought it was a really great first book for Fallon Greer and I'm really excited for what's next. Because I got an ALC, I have to say how much I loved the audio for this book.If you liked listening to the score, ice breaker etc as audios you'll probably love this too. Thank you to NetGalley, Fallon Greer, and Dreamscape Select for the ALC of this book.
Elodie is a gossip correspondent and her latest assignment is hockey star Cole Mackenzie. While everyone else is fooled by his decoy, Elodie follows Mac to a discreet club. Realizing that she's stumbled upon a huge story, Elodie finds herself torn between her job and her attraction to Mac.
Read if you like:
-Erotica with a side of hockey
-Journalists falling for their assignment
This was a fun read. The BDSM elements didn't overshadow the rest of the book, which I appreciated. Mac's backstory was a little over romanticized for the truth of the situation and took away from my overall enjoyment.
this book was a treat! i really enjoyed the premise of this book and was excited to see where the author would take it!
while there were a few points in the book where things didn’t go over very smooth, i believe for a debut novel, it was great overall
i loved being able to listen to the audiobook, to me, the narrators fit pretty close to how the characters were in my head
this was such a fun book and i’m excited to see what the next book in the series will bring
This was a well written and engaging book. I really liked Elodie as a character and the romantic storyline was well paced with plenty of build up and chemistry. However, Mack’s character seemed uninterested and detached at times as their relationship started developing, and I struggled to feel the romantic connection from his side. The nature of their power dynamic didn’t help with me feeling like maybe Elodie was more into him than the other way around. Still, it was a gripping book.
review of The Player's Club by Fallon Greer (ALC)
short overview:
The assignment was simple: follow hockey star Cole "Mac" Mackenzie and dig up dirt. But after missing him leave the arena, I discovered he used a decoy to escape. Following him to a secret club, my job turned into an obsession. I lied to my boss and kept returning, drawn to Mac and his world. But with my own secret, I knew I'd eventually get burned.
this was the first audiobook in a while that I actually enjoyed, the narrators did a fantastic job of voicing the characters. The story was great, Fast-paced, and full of spice. if you love spicy hockey romances you are going to enjoy this one for sure.
beware there is a third-act break-up (I know some readers despise that), but if you are okay with that grab yourself a copy of this audiobook!!
⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Player's Club was a different take on a sports romance.
I do think that it was a little sketchy of the FMC to continue to 'forget' about her boyfriend but that is a personal preference. That being said, I did like how open the MMC was for the exploration of her k*nks.
Be aware there is discussion of grooming and sexual assault.
So the premise of this book was so fun and spicy! A gossip magazine writer follows a famous hockey player to what ends up beg an *adult's* club. And then pretends to be a waitress, hockey man in instantly hooked, and they start a relationship. Buttt the fact that SO MUCH of the book is Elodie not telling Mac her career gave me icky feelings.
The book gave a whole lot of 50 Shades vibes with all the "teach me" moments. ALSO, not sure why the cover is sooo different than the content of the book (yes I went in completely blind to this audiobook, but no world would I have expected the adult club moments. The early relationship for Elodie and her boyf (ex) didn't bother me that much since no cheating occurred (but i don't even know if cheating would have bothered me - opps?) But in the end, soooo much happened that I don't even know how much of the story I remember writing this review four days after finishing. So I guess while the premise was fun and exciting, it just wasn't anything amazing for me.
Final Rating: 3.75⭐, 4🌶️
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Select for an ALC of this book in exchange for my honest review!
Reporter Elodie has the scoop of the year when she gets close to hockey player Mac. But when feelings get involved, Elodie knows she can't report anything she knows about him. This book was very 50 Shades of Grey-ish. It was steamier than I expected (I expected a light romcom when I saw the front cover) and was a great debut by Fallon Greer.
Got fooled by the cover and thought it was going to be cute, little hockey romance.
The vibes were not there.
Going further into the book, I felt weird reading about the characters knowing she was in a relationship for a while.
There was a lot happening and I found myself disconnecting from the book a few times.
The execution of the book missed the mark for me
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this book.
I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn’t get in to it.
Thank you Netgallery for this ARC audiobook.
Don't let this cover fool you- this is not a cutesy Ice hockey romance.
This follows ic hockey player Cole “Mac” Mackenzie and Elodie Andrews.
Elodie is a reporter for uncovers Mac secret BDSM life when she unknowingly turns up at his sex club , which sparks something in Elodie. Soon they start something very hot and spicy exploring the Dom/Sub relationship.
I felt like there was too much going on at once. I didn't like that Elodie was in a relationship for a quite a bit in the beginning. Then we discover Mac past which felt very Mrs Robinson and Elodie is still investigating Mac past and all her secrets and family past.
It got very complicated fast. A lot of good potential but couldn't been better. The spice was hot though
This book was okay, I liked the characters and the hockey. But I didn’t really get much of a plot? I like to have something to root for or some kind goal for the end but it just kinda felt like I was reading about different scenarios with no big ending
This is categorized as romance but this feels like erotica. This really just felt like a redone 50 Shades except is the pap and a hockey star. Just not for me. The narrators were good.
