THE WITCH IS BACK is the sixth book in the Witch Way Librarian Mysteries by Angela M. Sanders. With residents of Wilfred, Oregon receiving poison pen letters with demands for money, friendships and family are torn apart. Josie Way, the town’s magical librarian, receives a letter as well and even with her powers, can’t fathom who the author is. Along with the disturbing letters, Josie’s mother appears for an unannounced visit and a murder takes place. I loved the introduction of Josie’s mom, despite the upheaval she brings to Josie’s life. It adds some good backstory and helps the reader understand Josie better, especially as she navigates her tentative relationship with the local law enforcement officer. The author’s strong descriptive language brings the characters and the setting to life, providing a good backdrop for a solid mystery and some fun reading.
I was provided with an advance copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed The Witch is Back. It was a very clever murder mystery that also had some other minor mysteries going on at the same time. Having Josie's mom in town was a fun addition as she was rediscovering her own magic. The book ended on a major cliffhanger though so I really hope the next book in the series comes soon.
I was very excited when NetGalley offered me an advanced reader copy of Angela Sanders latest book. I was absolutely not disappointed. This is a great volume in the Witch Way Librarian series. Librarian Josie Way has her hands full with a series of Poison Pen letters sent to almost the entire town, a dead body, and a surprise visit from her Mother. Mom feels neglected by her Dad and decides that divorce is the only solution. Josie is devastated by this thought and begins a campaign to convince her Mom to change her mind. Her Mom in turn points out to Josie that it is past time to tell boyfriend Sam that Josie is a witch. But, trying to solve the crimes as well as deal with a sense of foreboding that seems to have embraced her , keeps Josie from finding time with Sam. As always, she encounters lots of roadblocks in her quest for the truth and faces danger from the last place she expected it. While the crimes are solved, the ending leaves you anxiously awaiting the next book. Thanks to NetGalley are due! The opinion is my own.
Love this series. I'm new to the magical cozy mystery genre, and this one did not disappoint. I love how Josie communicates with the books. The supporting characters are great too.
We are back in Wilfred, Oregon with Josie Way the librarian. Her mother Nora has come to visit. Josie has no idea why her mother has come. There's a strange man in town that has befriended her Mom and she's concerned. Then the townsfolk have received anonymous poison pen letters. Josie has been tasked to find the culprit.
I really enjoyed this paranormal cozy mystery. I loved reading it. It hooked me right away and pulled me out of a reading slump. I enjoyed following the clues with Josie. I can't wait to read more from this series.
I have quite enjoyed all the books in this series and was of course excited about this latest in the series. Josie is really starting to come into her own with her powers, and she shows her mom how it’s done when she makes an unexpected appearance at her door. This is a poisoned pen mystery, and while I figured out most of the mystery right away, it was still fun to watch Josie, her friends, and her mom figure it out. Fans of cozy mysteries and this author will definitely enjoy this latest installment in this well-written and fun series. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
The WItch is Back is one of those nice and cozy reads that will help you wind down from a busy day/week and relax. The librarian element plus the paranormal elements made this book easy to read and perfect for spooky season.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this arc!
This was such a good book. I really enjoyed it. More than I thought I would. I loved the writing style. This book had me hooked from page one. This is a first for me by this author but will not be my last!!
The Witch is Back is book 6 in Angela M. Sanders Witch Way Librarian Mystery series. This is a fun and entertaining cozy mystery! Josie is a librarian in small Wilfred, OR but she is not your ordinary librarian. She is a witch who communicates with books, harnessing energy from them. She helps her boyfriend, the local sheriff, solve mysteries around town, usually murders. However, he doesn’t realize she is a witch. She knows she needs to tell him but will she lose him forever if she does? Although you can read this book as a standalone, I recommend the entire series. It’s fun getting to know the background and residents of the town. My favorite character is Rodney, Josie’s cat. If you like cozy mysteries, you will enjoy this series.
The Witch is Back, sixth book in the Witch Way Librarian series, finds Josie Way faced with poison pen letters, a murder, and her mother. The people in the town of Wilfred are receiving letters exposing secrets from the past. And the writer of these letters may also have committed a murder. And what the heck is Josie's mom doing in Wilfred spending time with a man not her husband?
The story has the usual twists and turns. I figured out the mystery pretty quickly- and I'm pretty sure I know what's going to happen in the next book- but, as always, this was a fun story set in a town full of delightful characters.
I had a long and taxing week, and this book was the perfect way to wind down on a Friday night!
I love this series and I look forward to future volumes!
The Witch Is Back by Angela M. Sanders continues to enchant readers with its delightful blend of cozy mystery and paranormal charm in the sixth installment of the Witch Way Librarian Mystery series. Josie Way, the lovable librarian with a knack for connecting with books in more ways than one, returns in a story filled with surprises, suspense, and supernatural intrigue.
As Josie becomes more comfortable with her growing powers as a witch, her relationship with Sheriff Sam also deepens, bringing a touch of warmth and romance to the story. However, life in the small Oregon town is far from peaceful. The unexpected arrival of Josie’s mother, carrying news of her own, sets off a chain of events that keeps both Josie and the reader on their toes.
The cozy atmosphere is skillfully balanced with the unfolding mystery as the town's residents begin receiving poison pen letters, and a murder soon follows. The plot is engaging and fast-paced, with just the right amount of twists to keep you guessing until the very end.
One of the standout elements of this series is the unique way books interact with Josie, almost as if they have personalities of their own. This quirky detail adds an extra layer of magic to the story, making it a must-read for any book lover. The scenic Oregon backdrop and the presence of a charming feline companion only add to the cozy vibes that define this series.
Fans of paranormal cozy mysteries will find The Witch Is Back a delightful and satisfying read. Angela M. Sanders continues to deliver a perfect mix of mystery, magic, and character development, making this series one that is easy to devour. Whether you’re new to the series or a long-time follower, this latest installment is sure to keep you entertained and eager for more.
An easy and pleasant read. The main character is a wonderful combination of librarian and witch. A very interesting combination. I thought the plot was well developed and the characters engaging and believable. I would recommend this book.
#TheWitchIsBack #NetGalley is the 6th book in this series that I've grown quite fond of.
Josie Way is a librarian, her love of books shines in each story, but it's the way the books communicate to her that intrigues me the most.
Josie relationship with Sam, the sheriff, is growing strong, and she's finally accepting her role as a strong witch.
Josie gets a big surprise when her mother shows up at her door, unexpectedly, with her own news.
Before long, things take a turn for the worse, Josie's mom has an admirer, residents are getting poison pen letters, and someone commits murder.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat, and I enjoyed it very much.
I'm happy to recommend this series to other readers.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.

The Witch Is Back by Angela M. Sanders is a cute paranormal cozy mystery that is the sixth book in the adorable A Witch Way Librarian Mystery series.
This is such a nice series that is part cozy and part paranormal. The addition of a librarian, books with their own personalities, the fantastic backdrop of Oregon, and of course a feline, make this a cozy series that I have easily been able to devour.
