A gripping romantic suspense with intense action and emotional depth. Evan and Marlie's journey to uncover a cult and save missing children is filled with heart-pounding twists, passionate chemistry, and dark secrets. Their connection adds complexity to an already thrilling plot, making this a must-read for suspense lovers.
This is a story I will never forget. It pull at your heartstrings the entire books. Evan is great at his job but there is a big reason why he has so much drive in him. Marlie is barely living and ready to do so until she dies. She has suffered so much pain and loss she is determined to never enjoy life until she meets Noah. A little boy who is destined to do so many great things in his life after he too has suffered so much. Noah helps to set things in motion that could change the lives of so many people including Marlie and Evan. Will they be able to make it through the storm? I was given a copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review,
Evan and Marlie meet at the hospital where she work. Evan is investigating a big case which becomes personal to him. I liked how it was told from both points of view. All the loose ends were tied up by the end of the book which was good.
I’m a huge romantic suspense junkie. (Thank you, Nora Roberts, for spawning my addiction!) Tee O’Fallon’s Federal K-9 series cemented her as one of my favorite romantic suspense authors, so I was extremely excited to dive into her K-9 Special Ops series. However, I was not prepared for this emotional story. It absolutely packed a substantial emotional punch on top of the mystery, with both the hero and the heroine.
As always, the end was quite explosive, with a twist I didn’t see coming. Romantic suspense fans, it’s hard to be disappointed in a Tee O’Fallon book, so I wholeheartedly recommend Ultimate Justice as well as all of her Federal K-9 series books and any of her backlist.

I received a copy of this title from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I have a weak spot for books that feature dogs in law enforcement, so I was nearly guaranteed to like this one from the start. And it did not disappoint. It was fast paced action, great characters and, of course, the dog. This is the third book in the series and follows an agent working missing children cases. I was a little worried going in that it would be a tough read because I generally don't like reading about kidnapped children as it tends to be too heavy a subject. But it was handled very well and I really enjoyed it. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
Ultimate Justice by Tee O’Fallon
K-9 Special Ops Series #3
Action-packed takedown and capture of a felon showcases the talents of K-9 and humans working together and also leads into a child abduction ring that has been in operation for decades ~ Great introduction to the story!
What I liked:
* Evan McGary: FBI Special Agent, Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team member, motivated to find missing children, twin sister Gracie disappeared when young, dedicated to his job, loves his parents, strong, protective, bright, conflicted
* Marlie Foxe: hospital custodian, left her job as a child counsellor after traumatic loss, divorced, grieving, beginning to be willing to live a more vibrant life, bright, caring, protective, cautious, has flashbacks and nightmares
* Blue: Evan’s German Shepherd wK-9 partner, excellent tracker strong, protective, sensitive, falls for Crystal – a Samoyed-Siberian husky mix, good with children
* Noah: eleven-year-old found in a basement, kidnapped, drugged, loves computers, has information that will help find other missing children
* The mystery of who took Gracie – Evan’s sister – and the link between her and the other children that have been taken over the years
* The growth made by both Evan and Marlie and how they eventually end up together
* The plot, pacing, setting, and writing
* The twists and turns and surprise twist toward the end
* Catching up with Deck & Tori and Brett & Gemma
* Wondering if there will be another book in this series…
What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Thinking about how evil some people in this story were and knowing there are no doubt some as or even more evil than the ones I just read about.
Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Definitely
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled-Amara for the ARC – This is my honest review.
5 Stars
I’m not a big fan of romantic suspense books. Usually I either hate them or have nightmares about what happened. I just can’t do the thrillers and romantic suspense since it’s too realistic of what could happen in real life; however, Tee O’Fallon just writes amazing romantic suspense books that I enjoy reading. I’ve read this entire series so far and I’ve liked every one I’ve read. I liked that this was about a mom who went through something traumatic. It’s about found family and coming together to work towards finding the kidnappers and saving kids lives. I liked that this had forced proximity, life-and-death situations, and amazing characters. I will say that my one of my biggest problems with this book was that the mom kept telling the kid to say thank you in more of a demanding way. It just rubbed me the wrong way every time she did it. Other than that, I enjoyed this book.
I have been getting into romantic suspense lately and I would say Ultimate Justice is one of the good ones I have read. Marlie and Evan backstories were well written and didn't overshadow the main story. I enjoyed their growth as a person and as a couple. Looking forward to reading other books by the author.
I found the story to be wonderful, intense, and heartwarming. I also appreciate the great characters and emotional content. Great read!
I really enjoy Tee O’Fallon’s K9 series. There’s always a swoony MMC, and such an adorable partnership with his K9. Really enjoyed the mystery and the action packed into this book!
Ultimate Justice is the latest in the K-9 Special Ops series by the talented Tee O’Fallon. This story follows Evan who is an FBI special agent and Marlie who was a child psychologist before her world came crashing down. Now they will have to work together to take down the people responsible for kidnapping children in the area for years. Will they be able to figure out who all is involved and find the missing children in time? Read Ultimate Justice to find out.
I loved getting to know Marlie and Evan by reading their story. I was rooting for them from the very beginning. They were perfect for each other what with both of them suffering from a traumatic event in their past, and their experience helping children. Add in the undeniable chemistry between them and you have a great romance.
This breath stealing book held me in a tight grip and kept me right on the edge of my seat. Just be sure to plan ahead because you are not going to put this book down for anything. The superb blend of suspense and romance will have you stunned and consumed.
What Evan and his family went through impacted him to not only join the FBI but to protect those who are most vulnerable with the assistance of his K9 partner Blue. When his latest investigation leads him to Noah it opens a door to his past and he wonders if Noah may have information, he doesn’t realize he has. The only problem is that the only person he will talk to is Marlie, who is a janitor at the hospital.
Marlie has a tragic past and she is not living a very different life than the one she had been living. She doesn’t allow many people close, but she feels a connection to Noah. She and Noah now find themselves joining forces with Evan trying to save other children like Noah however as the feelings between them escalate so does the danger around them.
The characters and their story will draw you in and have you feeling for what they have all endured. The suspense keeps you on edge, the surprises keep coming and if anyone deserves a happy ever after all they have been through it is this couple.
A fantastic example of romantic suspense
Tee O'Fallon writes characters that feel like people you might know in real life, even when they have jobs and face situations way out of the ordinary. By the end of this novel, I really wished that I could be friends with Marlie and cheer on the new family she and Evan were starting with Noah. Evan is a dreamy MC, with such a heavy past that even the reader feels relief as he begins to heal. And of course, his K-9 Blue is a fantastic part of the cast.
Part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
Missing children, kidnapped and taken from their homes and parks. An FBI agent for the Child Abduction team has a personal interest in these kidnapped children. One recovered child in particular he needs information from but Evan will need Marlies assistance to get Noah to provide details.
As Marlie and Evan work to solve this mystery their feelings for each other are evolving. Great read and more than one happy ending in this one.
This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the third book in the K-9 Special Ops series. I have read the first two books in this series before picking up this book. I do think you can read this book as a standalone without any problems. I loved the characters in this book, and the story line pulled me in for the first page. I really loved the case that was being worked in this book. I did not want to put this book down. I really loved the ending of this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
Bittersweet Missing Children Romance!!
FBI Special Agent Evan McGarry has dedicated his life and career toward finding missing children. His twin sister was taken when they were young. Marlie Foxe is working as a custodian when young Noah is brought into the hospital. She is the only one Noah will speak to. Marlie lost her son, and ultimately her marriage.
Faithful companion, butterfly whisperer, and tracker Blue is an asset for Evan and an ice-breaker for Noah. When danger intrudes, Evan has them move in with him for protection.
A wonderful story of overcoming your past, solving mysteries, saving the innocent, and following your heart. An amazing read.
Great book!
While heartbreaking and dangerous at times, Marlie and Evan’s story is so good. Both of them have suffered significant losses, and are hesitant to open themselves up again. Marlie is avoiding her profession, and Evan is working a profession he chose out of guilt. When they unite to save a young boy, Noah, and to pursue his kidnappers, they also find themselves united in other ways.
I enjoyed seeing more of the Denver FBI canine squad that we’ve met in prior books. There’s suspense, open door action and a sweet child, ingredients for an engaging read.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.
Can a hospital Custodian and a FBI Special Agent save a young boy from a horrific future?
Evan and his K-9 partner Blue are part of a raid for a felon but they find more than they expected. Noah is a 10yr old runaway who ended up being trafficked as child labour. He wants to free his friend who he had to leave behind but he's willing to speak to only one person, Marlie - the hospital custodian.
Marlie was a Psychologist until her world turned upside down at the loss of her son. She didn't feel fit to look after anyone so she's hiding in plain sight. But Noah feels safe with her and she'll protect him from everyone - including the FBI and the world's least child friendly psychologist.
The loss of Evan's sister is his reason for joining the FBI. He's lost friends and relationships to his intense need to find the lost. He is a superb victim advocate however, he seems to be able to get children to trust him to keep them safe. Marlie is anxious, depressed and lonely but she is also a protector in her own way and kind.
The book is alternating heartbreak, tender, close friendship banter and intense attraction. Blue and the other K9 agents steal the show in several scenes and I love the way the author allowed Blue to have his own meet-cute, lol.
There were layers to the investigation and surrounding storylines and a tremendous care was taken when dealing with both Noah's trauma and Marlie's grief.
I cannot wait for the next book!
I loved this book, the characters are great, very real. The dogs are great also although i would have like to see them used more. I found this to be a fast read also, it moves very quickly. #UltimateJustice #NetGalley
