This is a great cookbook! The photos are spectacular and the recipes look easy to follow. The recipes I'm most excited to try are Mortadella Dip with Homemade Parmesan Chips, Homemade Tomato Basil Marinara, Ultimate low carb pizza and Roasted Bone-In Pork Chops. Special Thank You to Anna Vocino,BenBella Books and NetGalley for allowing me to read a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
This book included many beautiful recipes including vegetarian recipes that I am looking forward to trying out soon.

I was the most interested in the pasta sauces and the vegetarian main dishes. The breakfast dishes got my attention too! Most of the recipes I want to try which is always a good sign when you read a cookbook, and surprisingly not an entirely common occurence. A book to go back to, and one that will definitely be used regularly.
Eat Happy Italian by Anna Vocino is a great cookbook filled with Italian and Italian-American dishes that have been revamped into low-carb and grain- and gluten-free recipes.
Most of the recipes are accompanied by a picture so you can see the end product. The recipes are easy to follow. I love Italian food, so these healthy alternatives are a great addition to my kitchen. I tried the eggplant parm bites, which were delicious. Another favorite was the low-carb panzanella salad.
This is a great recipe book to add to your shelf. I would highly recommend this book.

This is a beautiful cookbook and great for anyone who wants to eat Italian without all the gluten! I am not gluten free myself but sometimes do appreciate a good gluten free, lower carb recipe as an alternative and healthier choice.
I think that this book was nicely put together. The recipes are displayed nicely and are easy to understand and follow along. Most of the recipes have beautiful images with them! There is a good variety of recipes in the cookbook, many that I am looking forward to trying! I also liked that the ingredients were things I already have or can easily get, nothing overly complicated but still delicious.
Eat Happy Italian focuses on Italian classics that are low-carb and grain- and gluten-free.

Written by an author, — a voice-over actress, food-blogger, and tomato-sauce entrepreneur — who has learned to manage her health (and her celiac disease) with a no-sugar-no-grains approach (NSNG), including elimination of processed foods, and a focus on real, low-carb, and metabolically-friendly foods.
This is the third cookbook in her “Eat Happy” series, featuring (perhaps the most originally-carborific of all cuisines) Italian cooking — recipes adapted healthfully from those that form part of her European heritage.
With recipe sections including Antipasti, Dressings and Sauces, Main dishes, Second courses, Soups and Casseroles, Breakfasts, and Sweets this collection features recipes including large beautiful photographs, based on minimal ingredients, and easy-to-follow instructions.
Some of my favorites, (that I can’t wait to try) include:
- Fava Beans, Ricotta and Mint appetizer
- White bean dip
- Primavera cauliflower “risotto”
- Cauliflower gnocchi
- Pan-fried chicken thighs with sage
- Ricotta cheesecake
- Olive oil cake with Limoncello glaze
Eating delicious foods, without grains, sugar, gluten or a profusion of carbs, can definitely be challenging. With the ideas and recipes in this book to work with, going low-carb and gluten-free (and focusing on truly healthy, nourishing food), is made perhaps not quite as intimidating.
A great big thank you to the Netgalley, the author, and the publisher for an ARC of this book. All thoughts presented are my own.

Beautiful photos, inspiring recipes. I really enjoyed this look at how Italian food can be low carb and grain free.
This is an interesting book for me as I don't have an dietary restrictions yet I always love to find new ways to cook and eat healthier. And I do love Italian food so to be able to have a few healthier versions this style of food is great. The recipes are great and the photos very appetising. The recipes are for the most part all fresh. natural foods which I like and the recipes are easy to follow and use with ingredients you have or can easily get your hands on.
This is a book that will give you more ideas of how to eat the things you love whether you have intolerances or not. A tasty read and recipes I will be trying for sure.
Thank you NetGalley and BenBella Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

This cookbook had a lot of delicious recipes in it.
Very nice cookbook. I have the OG Eat Happy cookbook and still use some of the recipes. I love that every recipe in this book has a photo to show you what it looks like. Such beautiful photos too!
This is a great cookbook for gluten free, grain free folks who want delicious Italian food. There are mouthwatering photos for most recipes and they seem authentic and worthy of meeting any craving. They are low carb but not necessarily keto, and there’s no nutritional information for the recipes. Some recipes have small amounts of sugar and she avoids fake foods. They seem rather high in calories for those who track those. Dairy is used heavily, as is meat. There are quite a few recipes I bookmarked to try.
I read a temporary digital copy of this book for review
I'm a BIG fan of Italian food and I'm also carb and sugar conscious because I was just diagnosed with Diabetes, so seeing a cookbook that shows healthy ways to make my favorite foods definitely piqued my interest.
This book includes 101 gluten free, grain free, low carb recipes, from breakfast to dessert. Most of the recipes have a full color photo and they all look delicious. Everything included seems pretty straightforward and easy to make. Beginners would do well with it, especially if low carbs/sugars is something new to you.
You do have to go in with an open mind. This book was made for those with celiac disease in mind and is also health conscious, so you aren't going to find heavy meals with pasta, you're going to find substitutions like riced cauliflower and spiralized zucchini in their place. Many recipes did not include a protein, but said they were easily added and gave examples of what you could use.
Thank you to BenBella Books and NetGalley. I voluntarily read an early copy of this cookbook.
This book follows the plan of NSNG. No sugars, no grains. As the author says, "It's not even really a plan. You just cut out processed sugars and grains." "It's a collection of Italian and Italian American food favorites." The photos are mouth watering.
Just from the first couple of chapters, I plan to try the recipes for Caesar Dressing, Homemade Ricotta Cheese, Basil Marinara Sauce, Pesto, and Caponata, which uses capers, one of my favorite ingredients.
There are also multiple recipes for making noodles and pizzas out of non-grain ingredients. Of course there are delicious sounding fish recipes, chicken recipes, beef and other meat recipes. There's a chapter on Soups, Stews, and Casseroles. One of my favorites is Italian Wedding Soup. A chapter on Veggies and Side Dishes. And chapters for breakfasts and desserts.
Although I love my starches, I and I'm sure many other people wouldn't mind cutting down on sugars and starches. This is a great book to get some ideas. And how can you not want another Italian Cookbook? I just love them.
I got this book for my Italian boyfriend, who eats pretty Keto and I'm sooo glad I did. First of all, this cookbook is beautiful. I love the full color pictures, both for the overall recipe and some have pictures for intermediate steps. Each recipe has a clear list of ingredients and doesn't include anything crazy like some keto recipes. The steps are all clear and precise. Every recipe even has a little introduction paragraph that provides additional information on the history of the dish and what it can be paired with. Our grocery budget is a little tight right now, but we have gone through and picked a few recipes to try out. I'm very excited to try the low carb pizzas!! My only complaint would be that I wish the recipes included nutrition information. That would have made this a 5-star cookbook for me!
A Fabulous array of recipes with beautiful pictures to really get my appetite going. I was delighted to find a recipe featuring Gluten-Free, Grain-Free and Low-Carb Italian recipes. Increasingly, I find I need to prepare Italian food at home so that I can keep it gluten free so this is perfect for me!
