A great sequel to what I believe is titles the cure. This book has great elements of fantasy and romance. However I do not think it stands out from the pack if you get my pun, I would like to see a bit more uniqueness in the world building or something personally.

*Family Pack*, the much-anticipated sequel to Lisa Diane Kastner’s *Cure*, continues the captivating saga of Luna Auber, whose journey into the world of lycanthropy began with the revelation of her shapeshifting heritage in Sweden. Written under her pen name Kali Metis, Kastner delivers a thrilling follow-up that expands on the rich mythology and intense conflict introduced in the first book.

In *Family Pack*, Luna Auber finds herself at the center of a fierce and dangerous struggle between two opposing lycanthropic factions. The Lycanthrope Society (TLS) advocates for coexistence and harmony between humans and lycanthropes, while The Righteous Group (TRG) believes in the supremacy of lycanthropes over all other species. This ideological divide forms the crux of the novel’s conflict, presenting Luna with a daunting challenge: to navigate this treacherous landscape and protect the fragile balance between these worlds.

Kastner’s skillful storytelling shines as she delves deeper into Luna’s character, exploring her internal growth and the external pressures she faces. Luna’s struggle is not only against the TRG’s aggressive agenda but also a personal battle to reconcile her newfound identity with her beliefs and values. The stakes are high, with the potential for catastrophic consequences should the TRG’s vision come to fruition.

The novel is set against a backdrop of intense lycanthropic politics and action, with Kastner crafting a world that is both expansive and immersive. The conflict between TLS and TRG provides a compelling narrative drive, and Luna’s role as a pivotal figure in this struggle adds layers of suspense and drama. The action scenes are gripping and well-paced, balancing the high-octane moments with deeper emotional beats that highlight Luna’s personal stakes.

Kastner’s previous success in identifying and championing talent at Running Wild Press is evident in her own writing. *Family Pack* demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of character development and plot intricacies. The richly detailed world-building and intricate political dynamics elevate the story, making it a standout entry in the genre.

Fans of *Cure* will find *Family Pack* a satisfying continuation of Luna Auber’s story, offering new dimensions to her character and the lycanthropic world she inhabits. The novel’s themes of identity, power, and the quest for harmony are explored with depth and nuance, making it not just a thrilling read but also a thought-provoking one.

*Family Pack* is a compelling and action-packed sequel that builds on the strengths of its predecessor while introducing new challenges and adventures. Kali Metis (Lisa Diane Kastner) has crafted a novel that is both engaging and thought-provoking, solidifying her reputation as a master storyteller in the fantasy genre. For readers who enjoy richly imagined worlds and complex character dynamics, *Family Pack* is a must-read.
