This was a new to me author.
A friend of mine put me onto this book, saying I would be fine even though I haven't read the others in the series.
She was almost correct, but I'm a detailed focused reader so I'll definitely start buying up the series when I cam as little nuggets throughout intrigued me.
For me this book conflicted me, as there was so much packed into it that by the time the final piece was put into place there was no need for more, which is a shame as it was cleverly done and deserved a stronger finish.

This series never disappoints. I love the balance with the case and Josie’s personal life and I love that in this one the case kinda parallels what is going on in her life. Josie and Noah are trying to move forward and adopt a child. This one starts with a dead woman next to a stroller with a baby. It gives Josie a moment to pause on the enormity of the change she is embarking on and a chance to reflect on how far she has come as it has ties to her first case when she was a rookie. A clever circle that provides even more depth and growth to a long standing character.

Not that I ever suspected anything else, but we get to slowly see more of Turner and what makes him tick. Of course he is still annoying the team. Him paying them for his insults. Gretchyn’s nickname for him. (I giggle every time.) He will never replace Mettner. That one still hurts, but I can see where he might eventually find his place on the team. And I have to admit he is growing on me. The glimpses of seeing inside him is doing its job. But again, I will always be team Mettner.

The book drew me in from the start and never let me go. It has a great pace along with a case that kept me guessing There were a couple of twists that upped the intensity and character growth of the team along with seeing Josie’s family again. This series is really more than just a police procedural series. The depth of characters with their insecurities makes them relatable and makes me want more at the end of every book. A well constructed team that provides balance as they work on their cases. Even when there is a wrench in the dynamics.

Even though this is book 21 (!) in the series, you can read this without being caught up. But I need to add that you’ll be missing so much if you don’t pick them all up. Is it too soon to be asking when book 22 will be out?

I do love this series, and have been a HUGE fan since Book 3 - yes yes, let's not go over the fact I haven't started Book 1 or 2 yet - but it just goes to show you can read these books as standalone. However, the side stories, are explained, it's good to get the entire picture.

The opening of this book is enough to take your breath away. We go back to the beginning, Josie is newish on the job, on a case that is something out of a horror film. One that has stuck with her. Losing her cool on the job leads her to where she is now.

I'm not going to lie, I lost a bit of thread to whom some of the characters were being investigated, but that's when you listen to the audio. The narrator is just epic, but I lost my concentration, so that's on me. So I went back and re-read things, and I had heard right and I was still just as shocked.

But those polaroids! They were creepy as hell!! And that baby at the beginning! Jeez, you are put through the wringer in this book!

This is probably the most messed up book in the series, in the twisted nature of some of the characters and most definitely the one with the most swearing in it...which shocked me.

I will also admit that Turner is growing on me, and I do hope that he stays. His attitude, as much as it's infuriating, actually made me chuckle.

I can't wait to see how the epilogue pans out in the next book, but it will definitely amp up the fear factor in future books!

Remember Her Name is book 21 in the Josie Quinn series by Lisa Regan. This book is incredible! I could not put it down and finished it in one day. Detective Josie Quinn is called to the park where an infant has been left alone in her stroller. The mother has vanished and no one can imagine why she would leave her daughter alone unless someone forced her to. As Josie is looking at the baby, there is blood on the stroller and on the back of the baby's onesie. The blood is from someone else as the baby is perfectly fine. When they lift the baby out of the stroller to comfort her they notice a polaroid photo has been left there. The photo is of a body of water with something blue in it, maybe a building of some sort. Josie has the feeling that it's a clue to the mother's whereabouts.

Cleo Tate is the missing mother and her husband is lying to them about where he was at the time of her abduction. Did he have something to do with it? He seems to love his daughter so why would he put her in danger? Nothing is adding up. Then Josie realizes where the photo was taken. It's from an old crime scene Josie investigated in the past at Cold Heart Creek. The blue in the photo is a boat that is grounded and stuck in the mud. As Josie and her team race to the area, they are too late for Cleo. Cleo has been dead for awhile from several stab wounds and a new polaroid photo has been left. Whoever is doing this has taken someone else and they must be at the location in the photo. The problem is the photo is blurry and you can't tell where it is. How much time do Josie and her team have before another person is found dead?

As more bodies are found and more photos are left as clues, will Josie and her team be able to find the killer before he hits too close to home? Josie has a connection to all of the places the bodies are being left. Is this killer out to torture her? Someone wants revenge, but who and for what? This book will keep your heart racing and the pages flipping as you race to the end. The suspense continues to build throughout until you can hardly stand it! Lisa Regan has done it again and Remember Her Name is one of the very best in the series! The book is available now and should be devoured and enjoyed! It's always thrilling to be back in Denton. This time the killer has invited Josie to play a game of Guess the Next Crime Scene by leaving a polaroid behind, forcing her to remember long buried details of past cases. This was a suspenseful, twisty and engaging read.
I can't wait for the next one!

I don't know how Lisa Regan does it, 21 Josie Quinn books and the series remains as fresh and exciting as ever. This is the harrowing case of the murder of a young mother which Josie, who cannot have children herself, finds extremely hard to deal with. Added to that there are the memories of some of her most difficult cases. I thought this was a great read, as heart wrenching as it was gripping. The tension at times had me chewing my nails down to stumps and rendered me unable to put the book down until the very last page. Josie reigns supreme, I can't wait for the next episode in her life.

Remember Her Name by Lisa Regan is the twenty-first in this series and in that time we have ushered Detective Josie Quinn through all kinds of police-related trauma. And plenty of personal trauma. The trauma has been lessened by the steadfast love of her husband, Lieutenant Noah Fraley, also a member of the Denton Police Department. It has been some time since their friend, Finn Mettner, had been killed but the wound was deep and his replacement didn’t begin to fill the hole left. To put it mildly, Kyle Turner was a jerk and he seemed to enjoy it. But this was no time to let him mess with her. A woman had just been abducted from a park, leaving a baby in a stroller at the scene. This called for all-men-on-deck. Josie seemed to be the only officer who could quiet the baby. Shortly her father arrived. Then, there were more murders and at each one a polaroid was left with an obscure clue. Josie, who had a weird mind anyway, recognized them, although not immediately, and they always found a body. It was after the third that they got a break. The woman had called, under coercion Josie was sure, her teenage son to the scene. He wasn’t dead, yet. When it all came together Josie was in shock. It stuck back to her earliest days on the force.

Josie Quinn is an excellent investigator and it’s a good thing because their small force was put to the test regularly. The story is interspersed with personal moments, like Drake’s proposal to her sister, Tiffany, and her parents coming for dinner. And she and Noah were still in the process of trying to adopt a baby. Amber, Mett’s girlfriend, was slowly recovering although she worked from home most days. Josie and Noah are a good team and time after time they manage to solve the crimes they are chasing. The chases are heart-wrenching, especially because Josie is so realistic and refuses to hold out hope when she sees none. The characters are good and they are dynamic, changing as the series progresses. If one loves police procedurals, this is a good one to follow. Regan has her fingers on the pulse and always come through.

They have some concerns about his whereabouts during the day. A stolen car is reported, but does this have anything to do with their case? Josie and her team continue to have issues with Kyle, the detective who replaced former beloved detective Finn Mettner. Eventually Josie realizes that the picture is that of Cold Heart Creek, a crime scene from her past as another woman’s body is found, with a polaroid. Do they have a serial killer or is someone trying to get Josie’s attention, but if so, why? Meanwhile, Josie and her husband Lt. Noah Fraley are still hoping to adopt. I have read and enjoyed this entire series, but this one seemed to have too much happening and was a bit more confusing, for me, even knowing the characters and their pasts. When Josie arrives at the scene the baby is crying and as she lifts the baby out of the stroller, they find a polaroid photo tucked in the blankets, with blood on the corner. What does the photo mean? A frantic search, when the team figures out where the polaroid was taken, it is too late – once again a polaroid has been left behind.

Another interesting installment in the Josie Quinn series. The team is still trying to figure Turner out and how he fits into the picture - I will say, I found myself wondering if he's hiding something big that will unfold in the coming books. I think this has been a good hook to keep readers wondering what will happen next. The mystery in this case was interesting but it was more confusing than others as it had lots of characters and moving parts. I found it fun and easy to read. There is a killer at large and a game is afoot. Small clues are left at one crime scene after another. Why is the killer leaving clues, with a very distinct signature, and will Josie and her team be able to stop him without even more bodies being found?

While being heartbroken at the loss of each victim, Josie struggles to get along with her new partner. He is called Turner and is unrepentantly irreverent. Then, Josie and her husband Noah, the lieutenant on her team, have been approved for adoption and are eager to be contacted so that they can begin to grow their family. Definitely a lot going on for Josie.

Meanwhile, the deeper the team gets into the investigation, Josie cannot help of thinking where she got her start with the police, a job she almost gave up on. One of her first crime scenes keeps coming to mind. It was an utterly gruesome site, something Josie will never forget. However, she made a promise to herself and refused to give up, no matter how difficult things would be, case by case. It is fifteen years later, and Josie has excelled at her job.

As incredibly intense as this 21st book is - yes, 21st book! - in the ever successful Josie Quinn series, there are moments of levity, such as the swear jars that the team use to keep the language in the squad room clean. This helped me as I was reading this book, because more than once I had a huge lump in my throat while reading. The tension, accompanied by heart-stopping scenes, never once lets up.

We start with a glimpse into Quinn’s rookie days. A multiple murder with a crime scene resembling a slaughterhouse.
Fifteen years later a serial killer appears to be copying the crime scene. Why now? Will Josie be able to put the pieces and clues together?
The story was gripping, I couldn’t put it down. I loved that I had no clue until the final words.
Fantastic story, I can’t wait for the next book.

Lisa always hits it out of the park with her Josie Quinn series and Remember Her Name is no exception. Josie and crew are in hot pursuit of the latest killer to stalk Denton. With Josie’s great recall, the crew is nipping at the heels but will they arrive in time to save someone? Each chapter builds and builds until you’re speed reading through the book to find out faster! Great book! Highly recommend!

I really don’t know how Lisa Regan does it. This is JQ 21 and the series is still fresh and invigorating to read.
I do like how Regan has been linking some of the new cases with old case files of Quinn’s because we get to see the vintage Josie with the modern version.
The scene were extra gruesome and some made me blanche but I still can’t get enough of this series.
This case was a doozy to bust wide open and Josie’s mind constantly whirred with the jumbled clues.
Turner is still a major D bag for most of the book but he finally comes through, but I was expecting him to be guzzling an energy drink as he did.
Case closed!!!!

Lisa Regan's latest installment in the Josie Quinn series is undeniably the best one yet. How she can come up with such original stories with as many twist and turns and interweaving of the past with the present that shows she has become the master of the craft.

A new case begins in the most agonizing way. A baby is abandoned in the park with a bloody polaroid in the cart. Who would leave a baby alone? What happened to the mother? Did anyone see anything? Where is the husband? All these questions and more arise as Josie is called to the scene as it unfolds. The hunt begins for Josie and the team looking to find the mother and what could have happened. As the questioning starts, Josie knows that something feels odd. The picture sparks a memory, but not enough to give her the answer. Turner, her partner is still up to his usual tricks, but with more humor than in the previous book. He is the type of character that you love to hate. We are starting to get a closer look into her partner and why he is the way he is. We, the readers, have enjoyed the new twist of him trying to be a better team player. (Although he still goes off on his own a lot and God knows where, it will be interesting to read his story.) Loved getting a glimpse of Josie as a rookie and how things were in the beginning for her as a cop. I should have paid closer attention in the beginning since it comes full circle in the end. I am endlessly entertained with Josie's ability to click things together from a little nugget of information.

I am addicted to these characters like no other series. Lisa Regan has created a world for us readers you never want to leave. It is like being among family with a strong bond that just keeps getting stronger and stronger. Kudos to the author for always keeping the stories fresh, page turning, creative and unputdownable each and every time. Her books are a MUST read for great writing, genius story plots and characters you come to love.

The fear will creep up your spine as you wait for the other shoe to drop. Holy cow! Clear your calendar before you start this one. I just got my heart rate back to normal.

This opens up in the past at Josie Quinn's first nasty crime scene. Although she gets sick, we see that grit that we now all know and love about Josie. Then the book fast forwards to the present where a baby stroller has been left in the middle of the park with a little baby girl in it. There is blood on the stroller, and the mother is nowhere to be found. When they find a strange polaroid photo that was underneath the child, Josie and company are even more puzzled. This is just the beginning of a wicked ride that you will not believe until you read it.

I never dreamed that this book would land where it landed. The hits just kept coming all the way to the end with one astounding reveal after another.

This author is undoubtedly one of the best crime procedural/mystery writers on the market today. The smooth writing makes everything flow together while also having you by the throat as you scurry through the pages like some sort of mad person just to get to the end.

On a separate note, Josie's new partner, Kyle Turner, is still my least favorite character with his snide comments and obsession with his phone. However, you begin to see a little more of his human side in this book.

Another great one in this series! These mysteries are always fast-paced and easy to read. I was expecting another kind of twist at the end (in terms of knowing who S.C. was before because it just kind of ended up being random/he wasn't a character before in present day), but there was a different twist that was also good. If you haven't read this series, you should go back and start at the beginning, but it won't take you long to catch up because these are so easy to read!
