Jules knows her daughter, Leah, has obsessive tendencies. She's gotten her help. Therapy has taught her coping skills. She's better now..... or so Jules thought until Leah's most recent obsession turns up dead.
I absolutely loved this one! I could not pause it. Jules is such a well written relatable character; sometimes she has pathetic moments sometimes but at her core she just wants to be needed and feel loved and she's not getting that feeling from her home or work lives. In addition to her own concerns, she worries constantly about Leah and her obsessive ways. When she becomes aware that the therapy is not working as well as she's hoped, Jules starts to get more involved. Then, suddenly, her own problems and Leah's problems collide in a way that is obvious but written so well that it's extremely compelling.
Leah is just as fascinating character as her mom. There is clearly something wrong with the way she thinks and how it makes her behave, and yet she manages to cope as best she can and that helps her fit in with friends and have a mostly normal life until things get out of control.
What I loved most about this book was that most of the twists were not surprising and yet they were done so well that you can't pause the story, you have to see it play. I was absolutely hooked from the opening to the end and I cannot wait for more from this author!

✨ Revenge
✨ Family drama
✨ The story has a two pov.. well, sort of three ( a surprise one) at the end.
A mum Jules and Lydia.
Both of them has some emotional problems which they deal in different way but similar characters .
Lydia was a 16 years old girl who has a huge problem on her own.
✨ Lydia wanted to find someone to sleep with so she did with a mature guy, but she did not expect to be that guy was a loose head too at the end.
✨ Mum Jules worried about everything, from her sex life which doesn’t exist, joining in a dating site, almost losing her job. I sometimes don’t get her pov on the story as it was hard to puzzle .
✨ Anyway, the story ends with a huge twist that I did not expect . It was okay. I thought it will have a cliffhanger but it didn’t. Finished it strong and written it well.
✨Thankyou bookouture for the opportunity to listen to this arc for honest review.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the free audiobook in exchange for my honest review. This is narrated by Izzy Meikle-Small and Claire Storey who collectively do a fantastic job!!! This is a very enjoyable listen.
Its been a minute since I read a solid psychological thriller and this one ticked the box! Nothing like a slow burn, spicy, revenge thriller with angry women, lies, family drama and manipulations! There are a lot of twists and turns and although not surprised by the ending, I did enjoy the read! Highly recommend!!
WHOA! This book got wacky! When i first started it I only thought it was ok but as I went on I became more and more intrigued. The ending was definitely a wild ride! This family has some issues lol! I listened to the audio version and liked the narrator.
4 stars!
Thank you Netgalley for the advanced reader copy

This was a crazy twisted story about decisions and insecurities. What this lacked was communication and wisdom. I thought it started out well enough but it just became overwhelmed to me. About half way until the ending, I could barely take it all in. It was a big twist and the end and then it’s over.
I chose to listen to this as an audiobook and Izzy Meikle-Small and Claire Storey were the narrators and I thought they did a good job.
Thanks Bookouture Audio via NetGalley.

An intense revenge thriller. This was my first book of Natali Simmonds and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
A web of lies, sercets and deceit and will keep you at the edge of your seat until the very end. My Daughter's Revenge follows the story of a family, with a focus on the mother, Jules and the daughter, Leah. It dives into the insecurities of the married couple and the feeling of drifting apart after so many years of being together. It also looks at the struggle nearly 17-year old Leah feels, her need to fit in and the lengths she is willing to go to achieve that.
The narrators did an amazing job conveying the characters' feelings.
A really big thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to listen to the audiobook prior to its release, in return of an honest review.

I was interested in this book because of the thriller aspect implicit in the premise, however, I found that it felt more like a look at middle age, a bit like THE ANNIVERSARY We absolutely need books about life in your 40s, the impact it has on relationships, but I wanted a thriller about a woman trying to contain her daughter taking revenge on an ex, and that wasn't present in this from the start, instead it was about a woman lamenting her changing relationships with her husband and kids.
I was not expecting to like this as much as I did. I loved the twist with "Curious". You cannot top that. I can't talk about any of this without revealing twists. What a crazy ending! This family is something else!
The narration was perfect!
Did not finish book. Stopped at 10%.
The main character is incredibly shallow and the daughter is spoiled while also being shallow. I just couldn’t continue with such unlikeable characters.
After a few chapters into this story I could tell the Daughter was a bit off though I will be say that the twist did surprise me a lot. I feel like a lot of women around their 40’s feel like how Jules feels, alone and wanting to feel needed. Then there is her daughter Leah who has attachment issues in the way that she attaches to people and becomes obsessed. She meets this hot guy, Dylan, at a music festival and they hook up then days later they reconnect again and then Leah leaves and decides she won’t see him again especially since she told him she was of age. Now back at school she sees that her new teacher is Dylan and they are both in total shock. The twists in this one were absolutely twisting and I absolutely recommend reading or listening to this one.
My Daughters’s Revenge by Natali Simmonds is a mother/daughter POV narration that hits close to home for anyone raising teenagers!! After losing her virginity to a man she just met, Leah finds out his true identity. As the story continues, the twisted web of delusion, deceit, and murder unravels in this well-written, beautifully narrated story. I gave it five stars for originality, twist, and ease in listening to it!
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for this ALC in return for my honest review!!
This book is about a mom and her teenage daughter who both think they need men to be happy. The daughter is sixteen, turning seventeen, and wants to lose her virginity to a much older guy. She’s really insecure and lies about her age to get what she wants. This lie gets her into big trouble.
The mom is also lonely and doesn’t feel good about herself. She tries to protect her family but makes some bad choices too. The rest of the family – the dad, brother, and another guy named Dylan – all have their own problems.
The story is like a puzzle. It's full of secrets and surprises. You won’t guess who did it until the end! It’s a really exciting book that keeps you guessing.
What is it about? Two women. A mother and a daughter who both necessitate men’s attentions. The daughter is 16-turns 17 and the mother is in her late 40’s but they both make terrible choices due to needing a mans’ validation to make them feel worthy.
The daughter wants to lose her virginity to an experienced, older man and so she searches out that perfect guy (in her young and insecure eyes). She lies about her age and as the story turns the lie becomes a very complicated problem.
The characters: daughter: Full of teenage angst, lonely, no self-esteem. Self-involved. Mother: lonely, no self-esteem. Protective of her family. Sad. Son: a drug dealer, a happy-go-lucky guy. The father: full of hobbies of his own and puts his family somewhere after himself, his interests, and his work. Dylan: read to find out ☺️
How I felt about it? This was what I would describe as an “domestic/psychological thriller and murder mystery.” This was exciting, fun, entertaining, surprising, and really fun to read with plenty of red herrings for the reader so the twist is very good and unexpected. All loose ends are tied up beautifully. 5 ⭐️ read for me.
Thank you NetGalley for an audible version of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
My daughter‘s revenge by Natali Simmonds and narrated by icy Meikle Small and Claire story. After reading the summary I was led to believe this was going to be a thriller and although lately I have noticed some thriller writers like to add detail sex in their books… Which I find to be pointless but in this book I think Miss Simmons took it to the nth degree. Not to mention the pedophilia because pedophilia is pedophilia is pedophilia. I don’t care what kind of artistic been you think you’re creating with underage sex especially one with an older man but to have to go through it over and over in the book I not only found daunting but once again pointless not to mention the mother who in my opinion was so vain not to mention the stupid app in the book that is supposed to be anonymous but you can sync the confessions down to those in your neighborhood… That makes no sense. I’m starting to sound like an angry middle-age woman in my apologies I just like to spend my weekends listening to audiobooks and this one and another one I’ve read this past week and made for a horrible couple of days. It seems like I always pick good books a few in a row in the same with bad ones and sadly I did not like this book I didn’t like the detailed sex the characters in by the time the murder happened I didn’t even care what happened to her daughter whose name I already forgot. When I noticed Claire story was narating the book and saw it was a thriller mystery I thought I was in for a great treat and with the exception of her narration I totally was not. I cannot think of any redeeming qualities about this book it seem like every chapter from the mom bemoaning her son going to Ibiza or Ibiza… Sorry or her daughter going to the savage music festival, to the gum and use condoms her daughter like collecting, to her husband preferring to eat pizza in a rented lot and not inviting her to everything else I just did not enjoy this book and did I mention the unnecessary masturbation and pedophilia?
4.5-4.75⭐️
My first read by this author, it looks like her second book.
I had the audiobook read by Izzy Meikle-Small and Claire Storey, they do a good job with very distinctive voices for the two different aged female main characters, they both manage decent voices for the male characters.
It starts with two stories, the mother Jules is stuck in a rut with her marriage, and her daughter Leah a teenager and not at all likeable, thinking only of herself, and blaming everyone else. Leah gets involved with someone who is inappropriate things take a dark turn.
I wasn’t sure what to make of Jules she was so blinkered to her family’s faults and shortcomings. She was also a very protective mother, I wouldn’t want to mess with her.
So many twists and turns I got whiplash. It’s got a good pace throughout, there’s always lots going on, with plenty of red herrings. It kept me entertained throughout. It’s dark but not gory. I loved it. I’d highly recommend it.
DNF.
I can’t take one more page of the MC whining about being chubby, not youthful anymore and that her husband doesn’t want to have sex with her. I no longer care to learn who her daughter killed or why. I just want her to stop complaining and to get a hobby.
What to expect:
-a good solid domestic suspense involving a family and an outside character.
- infidelity and an unhappy wife
- two teenaged kids getting into stuff they shouldn’t
- a great ending
What I didn’t understand:
- the title of the book giving away too much information
- a description of the book that didn’t match up with what I listened to (audiobook). The entire description is talking about the last 4% of the book. That’s really not what the book was about and gives key information that should be figure out as the story progresses. I’d highly suggest changing the description written on Goodreads.
Narration- loved it
Overall a reliable domestic suspense that’ll have you wanting to smack some sense into people.
Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and Bookouture Audio for this intriguing suspense in exchange for an honest review!
Absolutely riveting! I loved every bit of this book from front to back! All of the characters have such depth with realistic drama.
I will definitely continue with this author!
This thriller is full of twists! It keeps you guessing what will come next and I really like when a thriller keeps me so interested. I was sharing with coworkers the storyline and people were interested! The twists last the entire book!
I think the UK does such a good job of writing thrillers with absolutely vile characters. The writing makes it so easy to step into Leah and Jules' shoes. I felt nervous!
The narrators, Izzy Meikle-Small and Claire Storey, have nice voices that helped me get into the story more.
I would definitely read more from the author.
Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture Audio, Natali Simmonds, Izzy Meikle-Small and Claire Storey for the opportunity to read My Daughter's Revenge. I have written this review voluntarily.
My Daughter's Revenge
By: Natalia Simmonds
Pub Date: 8/14/24
Stars: 4
Synopsis: Nothing like a good revenge plot after heartbreak, Amiright? And what lengths will a mother go to protect her daughter? This dual POV between Leah (daughter) and Jules (mom) was interesting. Reading the alternating views on various events was so fun and had me constantly re-evaluating my feelings.
Format: Audiobook (Loved the Narrator…I would listen to anything from this Narrator)
Review: Oh, how I love a suspenseful thriller. This book hooked me early, and I greedily devoured every twist and turn. I am always first in line for lies, deception, and naughty behavior.
Pros: Starts with a bang, and the twists keep coming. I loved this read, and honestly, this mother-daughter duo is SOMETHING ELSE!!!! A wild ride.
Favorites Moments: LOVED the Kandid "true confessions" app…reminded me of Whisper, and I always find that space so intriguing.
Recommend (Yes/No/Maybe): Yes! I will be adding this author to my list to look for…I need more.
Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture, for allowing me to review the title.
