The story was cute and narration simple. My 5 year old didn't like listening to the story, but did enjoy working on reading it herself- the pictures and context clues were easy for her to work through.
firstly, I LOVE all the bright imagery and cute animals!
I might just be dumber than a typical 6 yo, but I had a moment where I was like, is Sally the human or the dog?? (which I went back to check & *technically* they never clarified on page one, but like, obviously I figured it out after but yeah
I love how thereโs cute little activities like counting and asking questions because I can imagine that will be so good for a young child!
unfortunately, we didn't like this one very much.
The illustrations are cute but the story wasn't very appealing to my children
I think there's some work to be done to improve the narrative.
A very cute story about a pup going to play in the snow. Love the illustration. Quick read and will keep a little ones attention
A fun read, furr-real! Meet Sally and the fun day she has out in the snow! Always good to view winters best from a different perspective! Loved this book and so did my kiddos! Great illustrations and full of pawsome illustrations!
Sally's Snow Day follows Sally the puppy as she frolicks in the snow on a winter day.
What initially drew me to this book was the art style and illustration! It is indeed cute and fun to look at. This would be perfect for early readers.
Although easy on the eyes, I felt that the story was a bit lacking in this one. Usually, I like to see children's books that have some lesson or takeaway attached to them, but this book was too short to get into more interesting topics.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Love a good book about the joys of Winter and snow play. We also are a huge fan of Pups in our house. definitely a fun read with my two little boys.
Sally is adorable and so is this book! With itโs simple phrases and bright illustrations, ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฌ'๐ฆ ๐ฆ๐ก๐ข๐ช ๐๐๐ฌ is sure to become a favourite and would make a fantastic addition to any personal or classroom library. Highly recommend!
Sweet story for the youngest of dog lovers. Adorable, colorful illustrations help keep a toddlerโs attention.
Utterly adorable! This book is perfect for young readers, and is able to be read anytime. The story was clear, and is very easy for kids to follow along with and latch onto. This is subtly teaching kids about story structure, which is awesome. All of the writing is simple and concise, but still fun and engaging at the same time.
As for the illustrations, I loved them! They were so cute and colorful, making the book unique, fun, and whimsical, perfect for young readers. I know that many kids will love reading this book more than once.
Bravo!
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. It's Sally's very first snow day. Follow her and her owner around for a fun time in the snow.
Sally's Snow Day displays some routine management, but overall a fun snow day for a sweet dog. There's a page or two of putting on winter coats and winter boots, but the bulk of this story takes place at the snowy dog park, where Sally makes fun doggy memories. This book is a great literacy tool for early childhood readers that live in snowy states, or experiencing their first winter/snow. Young readers can practice their print awareness and vocabulary while reading this book.
This adorable picture book about a little dog's day out in the snow is perfect for preschool puppy lovers! The illustrations are colourful and cute and the text is simple and sweet.

An adorable picture book about a dog playing outside in the snow with its friend. The story line is very simple: Sally gets ready to play outside, meets dog friends and plays and then returns home.
This story is a better fit for very young children who will additionally have very beautiful illustrations to discover and don't need a lot of excitement in a plot yet.
The message about no snowflake and no dog being the same was especially beautiful.
This was a very dry storyline. There was not much to it that would hold a young readers attention other than the illustrations which were great. Pup gets dressed to go outside, pup sees snow dogs, pup goes home and dreams about snow dogs. Very bland.
Thank you NetGalley, Andrew Larsen and Orca Book Publishers for allowing me to review.
This book is so cute! My daughter and I loved reading it! My daughter loves dogs and snow! It was fun to see all the things Sally did and saw in the snow! I loved how it shows Sally getting ready for her snow day and showing how to properly dress for the snow! Iโm hoping we have a few more snow days this year and we can get dressed and play like Sally with our own dogs!
The book was written really well. The author made careful word choices that will be very impactful for young readers. Overall, the book was well written and I did really enjoy it.
What a darling book!! Makes me so excited for snow play. My four kids absolutely loved the main character and his fun adventures. Highly recommend.
This was a good book. I liked that it was centered around the dogs and the human was the helper! Thank you to NetGalley for this advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
A cute book about a puppy getting dressed to go out and play in the snow. The books overall tone was very dry and lacking excitement. Good for babies but not attention grabbing enough for kids much older. Illustrations were really adorable and well laid out, very colourful. Giving this book a lower score for lack of excitement and shortness.
