Mine for a moment was everything! It was spicy and angsty with a dash of forbidden. I couldn't get enough of Archer and his best friend's sister Serenity. Catharina always brings the romance and it was in full force. I loved both were trying to move on from different experiences. While their fling was supposed to be temporary I truly felt their love continue to build on top of their preexisting friendship. Serenity is intelligent and artistic. I loved how in tune she was with Archer and the mark she left on his life. Archer wasn't really afraid to run from his growing feelings and treated her like an absolute queen. His jealousy was top notch but not aggressive. Most of all I loved their story had significant obstacles and some hidden identity at play. I felt these two truly go through it all for their happily ever after. No one writes angst like catharina

Okay, here’s my review for Mine for a Moment by Catharina Maura:

I really enjoyed the angst and longing in this book! The “right person, wrong time” trope has always been a favorite of mine, and Mine for a Moment captured that perfectly with Archer and Serenity’s story. The tension between them, the missed opportunities, and the longing that lingers throughout had me hooked. I loved how much Archer and Serenity genuinely cared for each other, and how they were willing to sacrifice things they never would have in any other situation. The depth of their connection really stood out and made their relationship feel so heartfelt and intense.

That said, I did feel like their longing came out of nowhere.. They're known each other for many years and yet now suddenly they notice one another? Also, there was a lot happening in the story, and at times, it felt a little overwhelming, especially given that the book wasn’t very long. There were so many layers to Archer and Serenity's lives, but it felt like the pacing was a bit rushed, and some moments could’ve been flushed out better. I also felt like I was dropped into the story without enough context or buildup—like I was supposed to know more about the characters' backgrounds than what was shared.

For example, Archer would take Serenity on trips, but we only get to read about one trip in detail. Then later in the book, it’s casually mentioned that they visited Venice and Paris, and I found myself wishing I could have seen those moments unfold, as they would've added so much more depth and bonding to their relationship.

Overall it was fine but I think it needed a bit more.

I am a huge fan of the authors. I have read every book she has written, and I was really excited to read this book and see Archer and Serenity's story. Archer if you don't know is Celeste's brother (Broken Vows) and this book takes place concurrently with Celeste's book.

I have read every book the author has written, and I have generally loved all of them. Sometimes the author uses love triangles, and I hate them. But most of the time they are not love triangles. There was one book where she used a love triangle (Wrong Bride) and I did not love it but I could take it, because the sister was so awful (Ares and Raven). I would say this book is similar to that book but so much worse. This book has a double love triangle. It literally made me sick watching what happens to poor Serenity. I think the issue was that everyone in the love triangle are good people where in the Wrong Bride, the sister was horrendous.

As the book begins Serenity is in love with her bestie, Theo but he is secretly dating her other best friend. This introduces love triangle #1. If this was the only love triangle I would have loved this book. The issue is going in, I knew about this one. My issue is the second love triangle.

Serenity has a brother, Ezra, and his best friend is Archer, Archer was in love with Ezras best friend, Tyra. Tyra was close to Serenity and Ezra and their family. But she disappeared years ago and both Ezra and Archer and Serenity were devastated. No one has moved beyond their love for Tyra. Until Archer and Serenity end up in a secret relationship to help heal both their hearts. If this was the book I would have loved it. But sadly the author did something so horrendous, and I do not want to spoil that, and then it gets even worse. I could not even stomach what the author did to Serenity. I didn't care if Archer loved Serenity while he did this, it was beyond awful and I abhorred this book, and I hated Archer so much for what he did and what he did in front of Serenity and no excuses could ever make me okay with it.

I positively HATED this book. I HATED Archer. I will never want to see Serenity and Archer together after what he does. By the end of this book I was rooting for Theo and Serenity because he is by far the better man.
