I am a big fan of Katie Reus and am enjoying the “Fighting for” series which is called the Redemption Harbor Security series. This book was about Ezra and his finding his first love, Magnolia. I liked this so much as Ezra was a broody type and Magnolia was sweet, but their story really was special. We’ve all had that first love and for it to last 17 years was unique because when they got back together, there was a lot to get through, especially emotionally. There is also a mystery as someone is trying to kill Magnolia and no one knows why. All the characters were fun to read, and if you haven’t read the first books you will not have any trouble figuring the cast of characters. A fun, quick read.

As always with this author you get a story you just can't put down. I absolutely loved Magnolia and Ezra. Alongside a steamy romance is a ton of suspense! I was sucked into this one from the beginning and it never let up.

Magnolias life was so different from whst she had planned all those years ago when life was simpler and she had all her future to look forward to

Magnolia and Ezra had big plans but magnolias dream ended when she couldn’t contact Ezra

He had left her to join the marines

Ezra was now working with a security group who specialised in helping people … whst he hadn’t banked whilst looking at houses was thst magnolia would turn up and someone trying to kill her

Ezra instincts kicked in

At the police station magnolia and Ezra are In a room when Lucas rushes in … magnolia son … who is the spitting image of Ezra

There is a lot to process with this book .. betrayal, families , gun men

This is a quick read and compelling trying to figure out who is after magnolia with plenty of surprises on the way

This is a perfect addition to this latest series from katie There are the usual tie ins to past stories so you are going to enjoy it better if you have read her previous books but it isn't essential

This is Ezra Hunt's story he is a former marine who has joined Redemption Harbor Security along with his teammates he isn't really happy to back in New Orleans because this is where he grew up and had is heart torn apart by a society girl 17 years earlier. Magnolia Lavigne couldn't understand why the boy she loved ghosted her and joined the marines' especially when she had something very important to tell him. What neither understood was that outside influences where at play and they had both been lied to. When Ezra rescues a woman been shot at his past comes back with a bang the woman is Magnolia and it doesn't take long to untangle the lies but someone is after her and Ezra is determined to keep her safe and maybe get the family he has always dreamed of. Can he keep her safe and do they have a future You will have to read to see.

I have a soft spot for second chance romances, and this one hit all the right notes. The protagonists, separated in their teens by her family's meddling, find their way back to each other when he returns to their hometown following military service. What I particularly enjoyed was the avoidance of prolonged drama and tropes. The narrative didn't dally over secrets or delay conversations, which kept the story brisk and engaging. It was a page-turner for sure. The romance was heartfelt, enriched by a strong family dynamic. Add to that a dash of action and suspense, and a villain reveal that caught me off guard, and you have a story that's a definite highlight on my reading list.

Magnolia Levine and Ezra Hunt are 17 yr. old lovers. They plan on moving in together after High School graduation and continue their college educations. They know they'll have problems with her wealthy parents because they feel Ezra comes from a poor family and lives in a bad neighborhood. Magnolia finds out she's pregnant, tries to contact Ezra but his phone's disconnected and when she goes to his home, the For Sale sign is up and Ezra's has left to join the Marines.

Seventeen years later, Magnolia is the proud owner of 3 Boutique Hotels, and a Real Estate company. She's raised her son Lucas with the assistance of her parents and does charity and community service with several women shelters. But someone isn't happy with her work and is sending her threatening texts and emails. The threat increases when someone attempts to kill her in a drive by shooting.

Ezra Hunt has returned to New Orleans as a Security Expert and to open a new branch of Redemption Harbor Security. While house hunting with friends he see his first love about to be shot and rushes to pull her out of harms way. When Lucas shows up, Ezra realizes he has a son.

What follows is Ezra getting to know his son, realizing that he still loves Magnolia, and they find out they both were deceived 17 yrs. ago. As they get to know each other again the threat to Magnolia increases with bomb threats and poisoning. Ezra steps up his protection and refuses to leave Magnolia's side because
he just found out he had a son, and that Magnolia had never ended things. He wasn’t going to lose them when he’d just found them.

Fighting for Magnolia is another great addition to Katie Reus’ Redemption Harbor Security series. Ezra had been such a discreet character, always doing his work expertly but never sharing much of his life that you couldn’t help but be intrigued by him. Boy was his backstory a doozy. Now he gets his present connected to his past in a big way.

A new family unknown before now for Ezra and dangerous situation for his former young love. Erza and the team are on the job supporting, protecting, and loving these people new and former back into his life. A rip-roaring read that is unputdownable from the beginning to the final word.

This was a fantastic addition to this must read series.
So much happens within one mere book that it felt wrong not adding it to my top reads list, so I did.
Be prepared to be thrown around on a rollercoaster of emotions with no safety bar.
Just when you think this author can't pack more action or twists into a book she goes and does it.
Definitely my favourite of the series thus far and not to be missed.

This is a great series, and I really enjoyed this installment. First off, I'm a sucker for a good second chance romance. They were torn apart as teenagers due to interference from her family, and they reconnect as adults when he moves back to town after a stint in the military. I really appreciated that the usual dramatic/trope-y moments weren't super drawn out. Secrets weren't kept for long and conversations generally happened in a pretty quick manner. It kept the plot moving, and I found it hard to put down. The romance was great, and I loved the family element. The action and suspense kept things exciting, and I was surprised by the villain. Definitely a win in my book!

I love a good alpha male suspense read. Ezra was definitely that. With him reuniting with Magnolia and finding out he had a son he didn’t second guess protecting them. I did not realize this was a part of a series. There were a lot of side characters and storylines that left me confused. I feel I would’ve gotten a lot more from this book having read the ones before it. Thank you to NetGalley for this advanced copy. I’m leaving this review voluntarily

Hell yes, another in the Redemption Harbour Series! And it is a bittersweet one! When Ezra comes with Tiago to look for houses, he is witness to a drive-by shooting and tackles the target to the ground to save her.

Imagine his surprise, when it’s the girl who broke his heart seventeen years ago. And then imagine his surprise when a boy turns up, looking like an Ezra mini-me. Needless to say, there is a lot of emotion in this story.

With a lot of characters from the previous books and a killer on the loose. Never a dull moment and I couldn’t put it down, because I really wanted to know how the story would end and of course the whole whodunnit revelation. One of the characters I really liked in the story, was major hacker Berlin.

So, hopefully Katie will give her a story as well, because she really deserves it! Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I casually picked up my first Katie Reus series at the thrift store one day and I’m happy I did. I love a suspenseful story full of friendships and found family with a bit of spice and this had it all. A quick easy read in a series I will absolutely be continuing!

Loved this book so much!! Ezra and Magnolia finding each other after so many years part was so well told and poignant; there was laughter, tears and it just so well done. The discovery of having a teenage son he didn’t know about, was well-written and realistic. You are one of my favorite and “auto-buy” authors and I eagerly look forward to each new release. Thank you for such a wonderful story!

Fighting for Magnolia is a story of second chances and I loved the history and connection that Magnolia and Ezra shared. After almost 18 years apart, the two had a chance to encounter each other back in New Orleans and realized that everything they thought they understood about why they had broken up long ago wasn't all that it seemed to be. I love this entire series and every book by Katie Reus. She pulls me in with the romance, action, and steamy encounters every single time.

Fighting for Magnolia is a story of second chances and boy did I fall in love with the clear history and connection that Magnolia and Ezra shared. After almost 18 years apart, the two have a chance encounter back in New Orleans and realize everything they thought they understood about why they broke up long ago wasn't all that it seemed to be. I love this entire series and Katie Reus pulls me in with the romance, action and steamy encounters every single time.

I loved the slow build of this story, as both Magnolia and Ezra are careful with their hearts now that it's just more than the 2 of them involved in what happens in the future. Gumbo, my favorite little dog makes another appearance in this story, as to many of our favorite New Orleans based characters. These books can be read as standalones, but do yourself a favor and read them all!

Another very good Katie Reus story. Ezra and Magnolia had been together in high school for over a year. When she goes to tell him she is pregnant, she finds out he is gone and has no way to contact him. 17 years later, he protects her from a shooting and is shocked to find out it's her that he protected. At the police station her son walks in and everyone can see they are carbon copies of each other. He comes around to her house to find out what happened all those years ago and they are both surprised to find out someone was working against them to keep them apart. Who it was is even more of a shock More drama incurrs and more attempts at her life. Ezra is getting to know his son and he and Magnolia are getting close again. The story had lots of drama, some romance, good characters and a great storyline.

I got this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review

I loved the characters Ezra and Magnolia. Done wrong by someone they trusted. A chance encounter brings the blocks tumbling down around them. "So much trouble", loved this when she said it. Some things never change. The intensity was there in this read, as well as the navigating of feelings between the two after so much time had passed. Magnolia was bossy at times, and I loved it. These Redemption Harbor characters are awesome, they interact fabulously and just like any family would. This series just keeps getting better and better.

I jumped into this series late in the game and have been working my way backwards because I enjoyed it so much. Fighting for Hailey is a break off series from the Red Stone Security series ( which I need to read since I own them all!) Ten years ago there were four foster teenagers that formed a family. Jesse, Cash, Easton and Hailey. As they're preparing to embark toward college Hailey decides to leave the group and join the military. She didn't tell any of the guys her reasons. Easton and Cash loved Hailey like brothers. Jesse loved Hailey with all of his heart. Hailey avoided keeping in contact with them but they sent letters and packages over the years while she was in the Marines. Jesse, Cash and Easton worked towards big careers for themselves but never forgot Hailey. Now it's a decade later and Easton has been kidnapped and Hailey is back to find him along with support from her friends at Redemption Harbor Security. Now that Hailey is back, Jesse wants answers that will hopefully help mend his broken heart along with finding his friend. This was a solid suspense story as well as a great second chance romance. Fighting for Hailey was told from multiple POV and has plenty of action, humor, intrigue and heat! Now to go read more of the backlist!

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

This book is full of action and second chance romance vibes. I enjoyed Ezra and his friends at the security company. Magnolia believes Ezra left her all those years ago however someone in her family betrayed Magnolia and basically sent Ezra away.

Now Ezra is back but he will have his hands full keeping Magnolia and her son Lucas alive.
