Overall it was a good story with plenty of emotion. For some reason, it was just hard for me to get into and really connect with the characters.
Wrapped up in you is a heartfelt, swoony, small town, friends to more romance. This is a wonderful, sweet romance with a great storyline. The emotion in this book pulled my heartstrings and I loved the slow burn of feelings that developed between Gabby and Bastien. They each had their own issues to work through and there were struggles but the HEA arrives. I really enjoyed this well written story. If you are looking for a heartwarming read pick this up.
The book offers a compelling read that may start off slowly, but quickly captivates the reader with its depth and charm. Bastien, the main character, is a grumpy yet big-hearted individual who strives to make everyone around him happy, driven by his own self-perceived shortcomings and a genuine concern for others. Gabby, the other protagonist, is a shy and caring nurse practitioner working at Bastien's family clinic. Her life seems to be a series of unfortunate events, and Bastien steps in to help her out of her latest predicament by offering her his spare room for the summer. Meanwhile, he works on renovating an old cabin on his land. However, an unexpected accident disrupts Bastien's plans to camp out, leading to an unplanned roommate situation with Gabby for the summer. The story unfolds as they navigate the pressures of Bastien's overcommitments and Gabby's long work hours. The tension builds as Gabby's hidden past threatens to surface—will it drive Bastien away or draw them closer? And can Bastien overcome his own painful history and jealousy to recognize the potential for something more right before his eyes? This book is a journey of discovery, packed with emotional twists and turns, making it an incredibly rewarding experience for the reader.
I was a little confused because the description didn't match the story. The story that was presented was good. I felt it was more towards the younger crowd but I was invested in reading it. I was engaged from start to finish.
