This is an engaging story with quite complex characters.
I enjoyed both the story and the character relationships and development.
I like that there’s humor and spicy and chemistry but there’s also serious issues involved like complex teenagers with difficult mothers, SA, closing of important school.
I like how Jake and Ella handle everything and how their story develops. I like that the characters aren’t perfect and that they make stupid decisions and even mistakes. I loved following the couple as they fall in love.
The ending is pretty good too. I would love to see how the team does in the future.
All in all, a very lovely sport romance with some serious and heavy matters involved!

A fun read! The book’s pace moved nicely, and was comfortably predictable (predictable isn’t always a bad thing!). A good bedtime read that kept my interest until the end. I did try to parse out why the book was named what it is and that ended up feeling misleading, but I suppose it was for the T Swift angle. I would recommend this book to my romance-reading friends for a quick read!

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publishing Company for this Advanced Readers Copy of Look What You Made Me Do by Amy Andrews!

Not really a fan of football rom coms. I keep picking them up thinking I'm going to eventually like one. That hasn't happened. I do like that the heroine was a teacher. But I could have done without the hero getting kicked out of the NFL and coming back to his home town. And the title being a Taylor Swift song was a huge turn off as well. I'm officially calling it Football Rom coms are not for me.

I almost DNF this book. I was bored and disconnected with the plot and characters - they fell for each other too quickly for me to feel good about it.

This one was not it. I felt like the writing seemed simplistic, and the insta-love was just off the charts. I wanted to love this one but it just wasn't there.

Review:
I haven’t read a sports romance in a while and I hadn’t realised how much I missed reading them! Full of angst, hate and eventual love, this book was a rollercoaster of a read that I read pretty much in one sitting!
I loved Ella, she was definitely a tough nut to crack, but once we learnt her backstory it was very easy to love her. Ella deals with the stresses of her school on the brink of closing, connecting with her younger teenage brother, Cam, who appears to have it out for her, while dealing with trauma from her past. The strong theme of found family made this book impeccable, with Ella and Cam being taken in by her best friend and her aunts like a family of strays. The banter and love between them is beautiful and adds a wholesome vibe, proving your family is who you choose to weather each storm with.
Jake dealt with the end of his NFL career the best he could, by drinking and running his own bar, running away from his own past. When they both bump into each other 2 years after a one night stand, his world is thrown off kilter. His character arc was beautiful, watching him rediscover himself and finding what makes him happy again after being bitter for so long. He definitely falls first and his is honestly a fantastic book boyfriend, 10/10 would date!
I loved the plot as well as all the characters, and while there was lots of spice, the plot was the main focus of the book, providing a good balance. The fast pace made it very bingeable and the writing style was super easy for my dyslexic self to read! I was honestly sad to put it down! A fantastic read that I would definitely recommend, and will most probably read again!

Wonderful story, great character development, great writing! Highly recommend this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it

My Thoughts: firstly can we talk about the cover?? its bright, its colourful, its eye catching and just totally drew me into the story before I’d even read the synopsis!
Sports romances are all the rage at the moment and I couldn’t wait to get lost in the world of Ella and Jake, I don’t know why but this one just felt different.. in a good way I promise.. maybe because although the romance and the spice was a big part of the story and definitely hit the mark when it was there it wasn’t the main part of the story.
This is a book about second chances and not giving up on what you know is right, with a whole bunch of characters that you can’t help but fall in love with, one of my favourites being Cam, he was ‘raised’ by a mother who didn’t put him first and feels rejected by his big sister Ella, he can’t help but think that she should have ‘saved’ him sooner.
The book is fun and heartwarming but had a very serious undertones where it deals with some sensitive topics in just the right way.
This is the first book I’ve read by Amy but I will be looking for more in the future.

I have never read anything by this author, but I will be looking out for other books they write in the future. I really enjoyed the story as well as the pacing of the story.

This book was super cute.
Some parts felt rushed and by the end it left you wanting more.
Ella and Jake were a sweet couple and I enjoyed reading about them

This was a first time read for me by this author and I really enjoyed it. The story centers around Ella, head teacher at the local high school, and Jake, a disgraced NFL player. They have a complicated and fiery history, and now he is back in town trying to fix his tarnished reputation. Ella has her own troubles to deal with. Her high school is in danger of shutting down and she is struggling to prevent that from happening. When Ella and Jake's paths collide again in their small hometown, the result is an emotional rollercoaster that’s both satisfying and steamy. Ella is great character, committed to her students and community and trying to maintain professionalism while also dealing with her inner conflict of the attraction she feels towards Jake. I liked seeing how Jake grew as he went from disgraced athlete to reluctant hero, adding more depth to his character. Having him coach the high school's football team provided opportunities for heartwarming moments with the students and sparks of tension with Ella. The sizzling romance between them also provided moments of fiery chemistry and heartfelt drama. This is not just a story about rekindling love but about healing and second chances—both for Jake as a fallen star and for Ella as she fights for her school.
A charming story about redemption, love, ambition, and finding your way back home—both to a place and a person. Highly enjoyable read!
I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

I wish there was an epilogue. I needed more of them actually together. It was a cute story about him helping build the football team. I just think it needed to be longer to that things could be a little more fleshed out.

Look What You Made Me Do by Amy Andrews is a sports romance and the story of Ella and Jake.
Ella is a teacher and Jake is a disgraced football player and these two couldn’t be more different. But Ella‘s school is on the brink of closing and a lot of hope is on Jake when he starts training the school‘s team. They have a good girl bad boy dynamic, and it was very cliche.
Ella and Jake have known each other since highschool and two years ago they had a moment. Their story felt every on and off in the beginning. This was a cute romance, but it wasn’t anything special and very insta lovey and went way too fast. I felt like the characters stayed rather superficial and therefore I wasn’t obsessed with them or their romance.
If you like football romances, this might be worth checking out. 3 stars.
(Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an arc.)

Unfortunately I could not connect with this book at all, and struggled to get through the first few chapters. Like other reviewers, I felt like the writing was AI generated, and I could not connect with the insta love that we see here.

This was a cute romance with a nostalgic feel revolving around a class reunion and saving their old high school.

His number was 87.
He was the best tight end.
The title is a Taylor Swift lyric
But
That's about how far it goes. She's a principal at a run down school that's on the brink of being closed. She needs something to show the board that they can stay open. Enter football...and love

I love a sports romance and this was ok. It certainly not the best but I didn’t DNF. It’s an easy read, it just didn’t it the spot for me.

I did not like this one. The writing style was just not for me at all. The characters felt really juvenile which they should not in this kind of book at all.

I’ve discovered waggling of eyebrows before anything sexual gives me the ick🤢, however I did enjoy this, it was an easy read!
