I absolutely DEVOURED this book in literally 24 hours. If I wasn’t a mom and a football fan, I would have finished this book in one sitting, but alas, duty calls. And being a football fan had me loving the fact that the MMC is a star player and the FMC has no idea who he even is!

It was so cute and refreshing. Big Steve had me cracking up as the overbearing father and then at the end was Dex. It was perfectly set up for a second book! I do wish that as a sports novel, all of the teams were made up and not just some of them, and that if they wanted to use a small town as a backdrop, it was a fictitious town because, Green Bay is not very small. Overall, it was a cute little sports romance that really didn’t talk much sports at all, and was more of a rom-com than a sports romance.

Plus the guy on the cover was pretty nice to look at 😏

3.5 stars...

This is told in Harlow and Andy's alternating POV. There is a fun meet-cute in Central Park where Harlow has no inkling that Andy is anybody special. I loved the buildup and how much fun they had and felt they really meshed well together. It seemed like the story was quite rushed once it came out who Andy really is and there were parts I'd have like to have seen a bit more elaborated, especially when it came to Andy's parents, as they were so involved in his career and life.

I always wanted to read something by Sara Ney, and I can’t believe it took me this long. If you’ve read her before, definitely let me know what I should pick up next. Not Your Biggest Fan is the first book in the Not Yours Series and this is Harlow and Andy‘s story.

These two met at a food stand in Central Park and their first meeting was so iconic and I really liked how they met when they least expected it. Harlow is a sassy woman who knows what she wants and she’s embracing her dream of creating a dating app. Everyone knows Andy by his professional name Landon Burke and he’s an NFL player who’s currently in between contracts. You don’t actually get to see much football in this book but rather the behind the scenes and media and that was really interesting. Andy is a guy who needs someone down to earth and that’s why he immediately clicks with Harlow.

I really liked that Andy is the one who falls first and he’s the one who is enamored with Harlow. I loved how they explored New York together and their amazing chemistry also translates very well into the bedroom. But my favorite part was when they were at Harlow‘s home and her meddling dad was hilarious as well. They come from different worlds but make it work because they love each other, and I loved seeing that. This story is so cute, and I wouldn’t mind an Andy of my own.

Not Your Biggest Fan is such a great romance, and I adored this story and already can’t wait to read more by Sara Ney. 4,5 stars.

(Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an arc.)

This is a fun read overall. The banter between the FMC and MMC is fun and takes center stage. I only drop off one star because it feels like this could have been condensed just a bit more.

Get ready for a laugh-out-loud, page-turning experience with "Not Your Biggest Fan" by Sara Ney!
This book takes the classic girl-meets-boy trope and flips it on its head with a hilariously awkward meet-cute. Harlow has no idea that the charming guy she meets is a star football player, and Andy, well, he's smitten from the start! Their chemistry is off the charts, and Andy's determination to win Harlow over is heartwarming-he's willing to go the distance, even to Green Bay!
Sara Ney's writing shines through the witty banter between Andy and Harlow, keeping me hooked from start to finish. The not-so-meet-cute is pure comedy gold!
The reason I rated this book 4 stars instead of a perfect score is because the ending felt a bit rushed, and the subplot with Andy's ex reaching out was a tad offbeat for my taste. Nevertheless, it's a delightful, fast-paced read with characters you'll absolutely adore!
If you're in the mood for a quick, fun, and heartwarming story, this is the book for you.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author Sara Ney, and the publishers for letting me & review this advanced book copy. This was a four star sports romance read that releases Tuesday January 28th 2025. Harlow James hasn't had the best romance in her life but that changes when she's in New York for business meetings. She is releasing a dating application named Kissmet she runs into a guy at the food truck warning him not to order the meat because it could make him sick from being undercooked. They later find themselves staying at the same hotel where sparks fly. Landon "andy" Burke plays professional football for the NHL. He is in town to talk contracts with a team he is interested in playing for. They spend a day together exploring New York like tourists where they find a romantic connection. My favorite part of the novel was when Andy showed up in Harlows hometown to show her he wants to try to have a relationship. Their amazingly cute, hilarious and the banter is on point. Also Harlows dad loving the football sport and fangirling over Andy.

***ARC Review***

First of all, I would like to thank the author, Sara Ney and the publisher The Author Agency for sending me this ARC and giving me the opportunity to read this book, I really appreciate it.
This book was kinda boring and the storyline was moving so slow for me. Most of the scenes/dialogues made me cringe, especially the sex. For me, this book was a 3 star read since I didn't really enjoy it as much as I thought I would and I almost DNFed this book. Also, I found the way that both MMC and FMC were talking and some scenes really cringe which made me frustrated since I couldn't fully enjoy the book.
Although it was supposed to be a funny book with good banter, I found this book humorless and it didn't make laugh at all, sorry I couldn't get into this book and enjoy it.

5/5⭐️

Okay this one was such a great read!! Absolutely ate it up and read it in one sitting! This was my first read ever by Sara Ney and I can say I will definitely be back for many more! Especially the rest of this series 😍 The meet cute between these two definitely had me giggling because like what a way to meet but so funny!! The chemistry between Harlow and Andy was so good you could feel it coming out of the book. The text messages were such a favorite of mine! I always love those added bonuses in books. It makes me feel like you can get into the characters mind a bit more. The banter was a yes in all the ways. I always eat that stuff up!! I loved the aspect of Harlow not recognizing Andy and him not giving it away at first. You never know how that will end but I enjoyed this one. Overall such a great read and can’t wait for book two already!!

Some really great banter!

Plot: 4 📍
Spice 2.5❤️‍🔥
Laughter: 4😅
Overall: 4⭐

Really enjoyed this for the most part!

Hilarious banter, amazing MMC, mostly very likable FMC. A few hiccups but nothing so off-putting you'd want to quit the book.

The FMC, Harlow, is cheeky, smart, a go-getter but a little gun-shy adding a man in her world due to a larger-than-life dad, vestiges of childhood trauma, and therefore, much to my own chagrin, can’t believe a long-distance relationship will work while assuming the worst of a man who holds his cards close to his chest.

Our MMC, “Andy,” a high-profile football player known to the world as Landon, holding his cards close to his chest when he is instantly interested and attracted to the cheeky, smart, go-getter, who doesn’t recognize who he is, really is nothing but a giant green-flag man. Literally. He is incredibly tall, funny, out going, admits when he was wrong (cue-opening scene with bad street-meat….), and consistently goes out of his way to show he’s all-in to giving them a real try.

Again, I’m not a fan of that “ermergerd, long-distance never works! Woe is me!” attitude - you’re telling every single traveling nurse, military member, first responders who travel, doctor’s without borders, and so on, they don’t deserve love. It’s very sophomoric attitude. So is always assuming the worst of people when they consistently prove they’re “in it for the long haul” even if there are bad actors externally. Who can YOU control? You. You can control your self and your responses. So grow up. And please do so. You owe the happiness and freedom that comes with such self-control. *steps off soapbox *

Mini preach aside, I love, Loved, LOVED the final scene! Which I will say absolutely nothing about to not give it away. 😉 I can't wait for the next book in the series!

A massive thank you to Ms. Sara Ney and The Author Agency for the opportunity to review this book!
All opinions are my own.

This was a fun, light read that is definitely needed at this time! It was witty, had fun banter, texts that made me giggle (that’s always a favorite of mine), and an overall good time. Pick it up & get lost in the fun

I am a bit on the fence with this one. I didn't... dislike it? I felt like the book was rushed. The beginning was promising but I just wasn't able to connect with the writing. It fell flat for me but I did like the premise. I just kept losing interest but was able to get to end.

Sara Ney knows how to bring the funny. She is one of the best at writing rom coms (emphasis on the COM part).

While in New York for business on her dating app, Kissmet, Harlow James runs into a guy. A handsome guy. One she tried to warn about the food he was buying, but he ignored her. And promptly got sick.

But when they run into each other at the hotel... it's great for "Andy." She doesn't know who he is, and so he can just be a regular guy.

After she gets back to her home in Green Bay, she knows there's no way she's going to see him again. Except she does. Because he's in her town. And as her dad let's her know, Andy isn't just a regular guy. He's a famous NFL player.

I loved it. Mistaken (or well, kind not) or unknown identity. He falls first (at least I think he did!). Harlow has a crazy dad, who’s antics, while embarrassing for Harlow, are hilarious for us.

I love the romance where the famous person finds consistency and real love. Andy might not have been too truthful, but he just wanted something real. And I totally get the fact that she didn't know who he was. When you don't watch sports, you don't know who is who!

Can't wait for book 2!

Harlow tried to tell the hot guy at the food truck not to eat chicken, but he didn't listen of course. Oh well, it's not as if she'll ever see him again, right? Wrong. Now they're having a fling for the ages, one that she knows has an expiration date. Or does it...

Landon "Andy" knows he has to tell the woman he's falling for who he really is. He knows she has no idea what she's getting into with him, and he can't have her if he isn't honest. But will she willingly put up with all that comes with dating a professional athlete? He knows he has to keep her, and is going to do whatever it takes to do so - grand gesture even.

This is a fun, light-hearted rom-com. I wouldn't say it's deep, but it's witty and fun, and Harlow and Landon's banter is hilarious. I do wish there was more about her app though, like how she and her team developed it - it would have given the story a more complete feel. But as it stands, I enjoyed it, and them as a couple, even if it was a bit rushed near the end.

I really enjoyed Not Your Biggest Fan. I enjoyed the plot and both the main and secondary characters. I loved how Harlow and Andy met and just how natural it was. There was definitely some laugh out loud moments with this read! The chemistry between Harlow and Andy was off the charts hot. Their relationship progressed so naturally and i just loved how they interacted with one another. I loved big Steve and Harlow’s group of friends as well as Dex. There is really no actual depiction of sports mainly just talk about the profession. Either way it was a great read and I really enjoyed it.

Not Your Biggest Fan by Sara Ney is the first book in the Not Yours Series. Harlow is in New York for work relating to her dating app Kissmet. She meets a handsome stranger Andy at a street meat vendor. She tries to tell him to avoid some of the items for his own health. Harlow says he owes her dinner if ends up getting sick. Well Andy does end up getting sick. As fate would have it they run into each other at the hotel they both happen to be staying at. Harlow and Andy decide to go tour the city wearing fake mustaches. They have an amazing date and then part ways. Andy becomes smitten and decides to make some changes to be with Harlow. Harlow’s dad is my favorite character. When he tells Andy he can call him “Big Steve” I laughed out loud.

A huge apology for taking so long to get this review out. My family and I have been struck down for three weeks with every possible winter illness imaginable 😅

All that to say that this book kept me wonderful company while I recovered and I loved Harlow and Andy. I loved how clueless Harlow was because I relate to that so hard. Not necessarily with football but with almost any other form of sports ball, so I loved that she had no idea. I totally get why Andy would want to keep it secret and just enjoy being himself. He was just so totally in with Harlow from the beginning and I just loved reading about him panicking to his friend about it.

I totally recommend this one to readers who love opposites attract, he falls first, and hidden identity. A huge thank you to @saraneyauthor and @netgalley for a copy of this book.

Sara Ney writes funny, lighthearted romcoms and Not Your Biggest Fan is no exception. What happens when an ultra-famous pro football player and dating app designer meet in Central Park - but she doesn’t know who he is? It’s a case of mistaken identity and insta-love/lust when Andy and Harlow meet in the food cart line. This is the first in a series and sets up well for book two. Filled with banter and laugh out loud text threads, NYBF is a fun read! Andy & Harlow are both a bit immature; but they are both genuine with each other so it works. I recommend this one to fans of sports romances and insta-love/lust. I received an advanced reading copy, receipt of which did not impact my review.

This wasn’t my favorite book by Sara but I still enjoyed it. I wish the book has been longer maybe then it wouldn’t have felt rushed. A lot happened in just 2 days and it seemed like a bit much.

Not Your Biggest Fan is a hilarious, lighthearted romance that had me smiling from the first chapter to the last. Harlow James, a sassy small-town girl turned dating app creating queen, is visiting a food truck in New York when she bumps into Landon "Andy" Burke, a super hot NFL free agent. The way they meet—over some seriously undercooked street food—is hilarious, and honestly, it set the tone for the whole story.
Andy is totally swoon-worthy—patient, sweet, and super understanding when it comes to Harlow’s emotional hang ups. He knows she’s the one and works hard to prove it. Seriously, he fought for it! Also, Harlow’s dad and Kevin the dog are total scene-stealers—had me cracking up!
Narrators Felicity Cross & Alexander Cendese were amazing. They brought the characters to life in a way that made the banter feel so real and fun. The chemistry between them? Chef’s kiss!
If you want a romance that’s funny, cute, and has a swoony hero, this is it. Totally recommend!
