An opposites attracting romcom to open Sara Ney’s Not Yours series as Harlow James keeps running into NFL star Landon Burke aka Andy, not an easy thing in a city of millions so could almost say it was kismet at work. Obviously, whatever it was she made enough of an impression on him that, once she’d returned home to Green Bay, he suddenly appeared on her doorstep.
This was my first read from this author and I loved the initial meet cute between Harlow and Andy, the banter and dialogue between them was fabulous and their overall story was lighthearted and fun with a steady flow to the writing. It was obvious Andy loved the anonymity he felt being with Harlow. Not a sports fan, she had no idea who he was and had no expectations, so he was free to be himself. Sometimes you need a book where there is no angst or excessive drama, where the hero and heroine have strong family ties and a great group of friends to add support, and you definitely get that with Not Your Biggest Fan.

Not Your Biggest Fan by Sara Ney is a sharp, witty, and addictive romance with plenty of humor and sass. Ney delivers a fast-paced story filled with hilarious banter, awkward encounters, and undeniable chemistry between the lead characters. The enemies-to-lovers dynamic keeps the tension high, making every interaction feel electric. With its relatable characters and entertaining dialogue, this book is a fun, lighthearted read that perfectly captures Ney’s signature blend of humor and romance. Fans of playful, opposites-attract love stories will definitely enjoy this one.

This was exactly the book I needed! After reading so many emotional stories, I was craving a funny, spicy, and cute rom-com to get me back on track, and Not Your Biggest Fan delivered. Sara Ney has this perfect balance of humor and heat that kept me laughing while also keeping me hooked with the right amount of spice. I couldn’t stop turning the pages, wondering what would happen next, and now I’m already excited for the next one. If you're into sports romance, opposites attract, and hidden identities, this book has it all!

Harlow is in New York for advertisers for her dating app Kissmet. She runs into Andy at a food truck not knowing he's a football star. The two end up staying at the same hotel and rocking the bed. Harlow heads back home note expecting to see Andy again until he shows up on her doorstep. Andy is determined to show Harlow they can work out in a relationship.

Fast, fun and quirky
5 stars
I’m always game for a bit of Sara Ney’s quirky romances and this kicks off a new series that I’m really excited for. In this first book, we have an opposites attract, hidden identity, sports romance between a prospective matchmaker and the most famous man in American Football.
Harlow and Andy’s meet cute is actually just Harlow berating Andy for choosing to eat chicken from a street vendor. A wager followed by a chance meeting and suddenly Andy and Harlow find themselves spending the day together and getting to know each other better. But Harlow lives half way across the country from Andy. And Andy - well, he’s kind of not who he says he is.
I loved Harlow from top to toe and she was so easy to root for from the very first. She sassy but only because she just can’t seem to help herself. Like when she’s telling Andy not to eat the chicken - it’s just because she needs to say something. But she’s equally a little bit hesitant which made her all the more likeable. She definitely likes Andy but the sensible part of her brain is telling her to pump the brakes. I think we’d all react like her if the situation arose - especially in wondering if Andy might actually be a serial killer.
Andy was a delight and I actually felt a little bit bad for him - despite him being a rich, famous and successful athlete. He meets Harlow and he suddenly realises that the relationships he’s had before in his life have all been lacklustre. It throws him for a loop and I loved to watch him flounder about his feelings and what to do. But he’s still a cocky so-and-so and his boyish charm just made my heart melt.
There’s definitely a lot of chemistry between Harlow and Andy but it felt really true to life in that push and pull, does he like me?, does she want me?, kind of way. They were both a bit cagey to begin with and then they weren’t. The sex scenes were electric but it was actually in the texts, calls and chats where I really felt the relationship between our couple build. It was wonderful.
I’ll concede that Sara Ney’s style is very marmite. You’ll either love her quirky, chatty style - or be very confused by it. But if you’re like me, the banter, the talking to the reader, the stream of character consciousness, will delight you and really help you get to know - and love - her characters. The story itself isn’t dramatic and there’s minimal angst (yes, even though Andy's keeping his identity a secret) - but it just works and I didn’t want to stop reading.
We get some great secondary characters in this story, too. Harlow’s besties were hilarious and Andy’s best mate, Dex, was hilariously refreshing. His story comes next and I am already here for it. Harlow’s Dad also featured some and I admit that those scenes left me feeling various degrees of sad, annoyed and uncomfortable. But not overly so.
I really enjoyed this book. It has great characters who have fantastic chemistry together and a fast and interesting storyline. I would have loved an epilogue further into the future but I’m just going to hope we get to see Harlow and Andy again when we get the next book in the series. But this first in the series gets 5 stars.

This meet-cute was hilarious! I love Sara's humor; her books are always a lighthearted, smile-inducing read. Harlow and Andy meet at a food truck in NYC and then, coincidentally, at their hotel. They spend the next day together exploring the city. Harlow's unaware that Andy's a professional football player, thinking he's unemployed. Andy enjoys that she doesn't know his real job.

Thank you @saraneyauthor & @theauthor.agency for the arc!

Andy is ready for a real relationship, not some model or influencer that needs a boost. When he meets Harlow in line at a food truck in Central Park, he is immediately attracted to her sass and wit. They make a bet, but he never in a million years thinks he will see her again to collect on the bet. Fate steps in to allow Harlow to cash in her winnings (because she nailed it!!!!) and they have a great day being tourists in NYC. The best part about it...Harlow has No. Idea. Who. He. Is.
Not Your Biggest Fan is the first book in Sara Ney's new Not Yours series. I love when the guy falls hard and is pushing for the relationship. There's a lot standing in their way, including distance (she lives in Green Bay, he lives in Seattle), the fact that Harlow is totally in the dark about who Andy is, Andy's ex reinserting herself into his life when he least expects it, and on and on. I loved the wit and banter in the book. I laughed and laughed! Not Your Biggest Fan is another great read from Sara Ney! 10/10 Highly Recommend!

How does an adorable meet cute, turn into food poisoning and then a HEA? It is just a cute, sweet story of an unassuming midwest girl and a smoking for football star.

Not Your Biggest Fan by Sara Ney is a sports rom-com about Landon Burke aka Andy and Harlow James. A humorous and sweet opposites attract romance about a NFL football player and a small town entrepreneur. A comic meet cute starts a series of incidents that changes both their lives forever.
Harlow is in New York for a presentation for the dating app she has created and developed. While waiting in line at a food truck in Central Park, she appreciates the fit and good looking guy in front of her. She tries to offer him some advice but his cocky ego wins so they end up having a bet, even though neither expects to see the other again.
Andy is a wide receiver and is in town looking for a new team as his contract with Seattle has ended. He can’t believe she spoke like that to a stranger and obviously has no idea who he is !!! Things go downhill quickly for him and he’s horrified when they bump into each other again. This leads to him arranging a day out as he lost the bet. Shocked how he has managed to find the one person who doesn’t recognise him!
The best thing about this book is Harlow has absolutely no idea who he is so she just says what she wants to say regardless. With his celebrity status he isn’t used to someone being so honest and open with him. The way she is with him absolutely astounds him and he doesn’t know how to deal with her and her sassy attitude. She is treating him like a normal person and he hasn’t experienced that since he was drafted to the NFL. It’s so funny how he becomes tongue tied and feels like a teenager again around her.
It hits home that all his previous girlfriends have been fake or with him him for who he was or his money. This is probably his first proper honest relationship and he doesn’t want it be a one night stand. He refuses to let her walk out of his life and sets in motion plans to see her again.
The witty banter and teasing throughout the book is hilarious and its not just between the couple. Harlow and her friends have many amusing exchanges and her father is a larger than life character and loves interfering in her life. Andy and his best friend Dex, have numerous funny conversations. Dex can’t believe Andy could be looking to play for a team just because of a woman!
What will happen when she finds out who he really is? Could she deal with dating someone in the spotlight? A few hiccups along the way but it was sweet how he is quick to reassure her and then help her adapt to dating him. I did find Harlow’s internal dialogue went on a bit too much for me and wasn’t sure about Green Bay being called a small town. Overall the book was an entertaining read. I liked the romantic ending and the fun teaser about Dex ready for his book.

This book was so good. I love how the characters are, and the first-time meeting was priceless. It was so funny to have both sides of their story and to see what they both were thinking. The ending was great and I'd love to know what happens with the friend.

Sweet, swoony and witty, Not Your Biggest Fan was so much fun to read! I absolutely loved the banter in this book, and really enjoyed how the story played out. The pacing was excellent, which is always a huge plus for me. Overall, a great rom com which I highly recommend!

So, this book is about Harlow, a dating app creator, and Andy, an NFL superstar, who have a meet cute over undercooked street food.
The plot was interesting and it had its funny moments, but I didn't really connect with it all. The MCs were ok, a little too young for the age they were supposed to be. And their careers are an afterthought.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Delightfully Fun and Flirty Rom-Com
Sara Ney's Not Your Biggest Fan is a charming, laugh-out-loud romance filled with steamy chemistry, witty banter, and lovable characters. The story kicks off with a hilariously unconventional (not-so) meet-cute at a New York City food truck, where Harlow James, a bold and witty dating app entrepreneur, offers unsolicited advice to Landon "Andy" Burke, a cocky NFL star incognito. (Pro tip: if a stranger warns you off street meat, listen!) What follows is a fast-paced and heartwarming journey from playful bets to unexpected weekend flings and the possibility of something more.
Harlow's spunky, no-nonsense personality paired beautifully with Andy’s confident but easygoing charm. Their banter was sharp, funny, and delightfully natural, making their connection feel genuine. I especially appreciated that Harlow didn't recognize Andy as a sports celebrity—nothing levels the playing field quite like seeing a man lose a bet over a questionable chicken skewer.
While the book delivers Ney's signature humor and lovable characters, it leans more toward a traditional rom-com vibe than some of her edgier, indie-style reads. The storytelling was light and approachable, though I found myself wishing for a little more bite.
The pacing was spot-on, keeping the story engaging from beginning to end. While the ending left me craving just a bit more time with the couple, the supporting characters—especially Harlow's hilarious dad Big Steve—added delightful depth and humor. Ney’s signature quirky storytelling shines here, making it a joyful, easy read for romance fans.
If you love sports romance, big city/small-town dynamics, and witty banter served hot, Not Your Biggest Fan delivers in spades and will leave you grinning—and probably rethinking your next street food order.

Thank you Sara Ney & The Author Agency for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Not Your Biggest Fan by Sara Ney is a football romance, hidden identity, small town girl romcom.
Harlow James is destined to rock the dating world. The creator of Kissmet, the app helping singles find love, she’s in New York to secure advertisers. But the sassy, small-town girl can’t help meddling in other people’s business.
When she runs into a muscular stranger at her go-to food truck, Harlow doesn’t realize he’s Landon “Andy” Burke, the NFL’s most-wanted free agent, in town to talk contracts. She just sees a hottie about to get burned by undercooked street food. Though she tries to warn him, he shrugs her off, making a little wager instead.
In a messy twist of fate, Andy finds himself in the same hotel as Harlow. When she collects on their bet, they make a mind-blowing—and bed-rocking—connection. But after the weekend, she goes home to Green Bay to her goofy dad and corgi, ready to focus everything on work again. Kissmet, however, has other ideas, when Andy knocks on her door…
This is a cute, romcom story. It’s a fun opposite attracts story. I enjoyed their meet-cute in New York and some of the flirty banter they had.
But I didn’t love that the story felt like text messages after text messages as opposed to conversations and storylines.
I loved their characters overall and their personalities, but I would have loved more story and backgrounds to them.
I do love instalust but this may have just been a bit too rushed for me. I rate this book a 3.5 out of 5. That being said I would recommend this book to those who love fun romcom vibes, hidden identities, and football players. If this sounds like something you like, I recommend you check it out!
Thank you again to Sara Ney, The Author Agency, and NetGalley!

Not Your Biggest Fan by Sara Ney is a laugh-out-loud rom-com that delivers pure fun. The characters are funny, relatable, and an absolute blast to get to know—even the side characters had me cracking up.
This was my first book by Sara Ney, and I can absolutely see why she’s a bestselling author. The story follows two people from completely different worlds who cross paths at a hot dog stand, leading to a bet that sets the stage for their hilarious second meeting—in an elevator.
If you’re looking for a quick, lighthearted read with plenty of humor and just the right amount of spice, this book is for you. It’s fun, flirty, and the perfect pick-me-up romance!

Not Your Biggest Fan is the first book in the new Not Yours football romance series from bestselling author Sara Ney and it's published by Montlake. This romantic comedy read has two main characters in their late twenties--he's 29, and I'm guessing she's about the same age--Harlow James, the creator of a dating app called Kissmet, and Landon Burke, a professional football player, who have an unforgettable meet-cute and find themselves being thrown together by fate under somewhat expected circumstances. This is a standalone, so you don't need to read any of Ney's previous releases to enjoy this series starter.
Harlow James is from Green Bay, Wisconsin but she's hustling and bustling in New York for work. She may be a girl from the Midwest, but she's learned a thing or two during her short stay in the city that doesn't sleep. So, when she offers up a bit of advice to the hot, muscular guy in line at a food truck, she knows she's helping out. Unfortunately, the stranger doesn't listen and orders the chicken kebabs; fortunately for Landon Burke, he lives to tell the humiliating tale of hours spent regretting not listening to the beautiful, unassuming woman at Central Park. They happen to be in the same hotel, and they spend time together. But Harlow only knows him as Andy, the supposedly unemployed guy headed to Ohio for family. She has no idea he's the NFL's most wanted free agent, and that he's about to make his obvious presence known around the Frozen Tundra which is in football town--her hometown--Green Bay.
This was a highly entertaining beginning to the Not Yours series, with Harlow and Andy's first meeting being one of the more original ones I've come across in recent memory. Theirs wasn't a case of love or even lust at first sight, but there was an inkling of a connection as they debated the pros and cons of chicken kebabs from a food truck in New York. Fate, of course, had them crossing paths again, with Harlow bearing witness to just how right she was when she warned Andy off of those kebabs. I liked that while their attraction was growing, they did spend time getting to know each other before actually jumping into bed together. Andy was such a sweetheart, and Harlow was a breath of fresh air. I loved the family dynamics on both sides, and Andy's conversations with his best friend, Dex, and Harlow's with her ever-supportive quad of besties had me laughing out loud. And did I mention that there's a dog named Kevin as well? My one quibble is that there was never a mention of those three words that you come to expect in a romance novel, especially considering what he does in the final chapter, you'd think they'd have said those words sometime prior, but it is what it is. Not Your Biggest Fan is still a 4.5-starred read.

I really enjoyed this one and loved how the MC’s met! Definitely would recommend it to other’s if they love romcom’s!

4 Loved the Way They Meet Stars!!
I love starting a new series by a favorite author and with this first book in Ms. Ney’s Not Yours Series, we meet Andy and Harlow. I was chuckling from the get-go with this book especially when Andy and Harlow meet for the first time because she warns him about something and let’s just say he should’ve heeded her warning LOL. I love Harlow, she’s a Girl Boss with her dating app and given she’s single and looking makes it that much better.
This book is filled with witty banter, steamy moments that had me fanning myself and chemistry that can’t be stopped. Andy is a man that usually is in control of things, but his falling fast and hard for Harlow is out of his control and I’m there for each and every minute of him wooing her!
What a great start to a new series. I can’t wait for Margot and Dex’s story!

I really enjoyed Andy and Harlow’s story. They had great chemistry and their conversations from their first meeting and throughout the book had me laughing out loud. Quick paced, easy to read plot.

A fast-paced romantic comedy!
This was such a fun read! Sara Ney's unfiltered humor had me laughing so hard my cheeks hurt. Between the food fiasco, Harlow's sports-obsessed dad, and Kevin the dog, I couldn't stop smiling.
The story moves fast, but Harlow and Andy's connection feels so genuine, while he gets to be himself, not the famous football star the world sees him as.
Sara Ney is an auto-buy author for me, and I can't wait for more in the Not Yours series, especially with the dating app playing a role (hopefully with some fun cameos!)
