Not Your Biggest Fan is the first book that I read from Sara Ney, and between the synopsis and tropes of Not Your Biggest Fan, I was intrigued to read this one. This was a cute and funny read that kept me entertained, especially with how the characters met initially. It’s something I’ve never read before in a romance book, and I loved how the FMC, Harlow, tried to help the MMC, Andy, from making a bad decision. He really should have listened to her. 😂 But, then, these two would have never crossed paths again and had an amazing day in New York together.

The story progresses with the characters going their separate ways, but Andy not being able to forget his time with Harlow, especially since she has no clue who he is really. The issue is Andy hasn’t told Harlow the truth about him, and eventually, she’ll find out. He’s hoping it doesn’t scare her away because he is determined to get to know her better.

I enjoyed this story of Andy and Harlow. They were complete opposites of one another, and they had an instant and undeniable chemistry. Andy definitely made an impression with Harlow when it came to bedroom skills and other things. Harlow made an impression on Andy, especially when she treated him normally.

Here’s the thing, though, the story was written in such a short period that it felt rushed almost, especially with the conflict of Andy keeping the secret of his true identity from Harlow and how she handled it. I would have loved to have more of their relationship after she agreed to be with him. There was also a past relationship that Andy had that tried to jeopardize everything with Harlow, who just wanted to cause drama for no reason. It was mainly due to publicity and jealousy.

The one thing that truly irked me was Harlow’s father and how he was annoying Harlow with his constant butting into her life. He should have respected her and not just shown up when he felt like it and he also should have realized that his daughter was an adult.

Aside from a few issues, this was a good read, though it felt rushed for me towards the end. I wish I could have enjoyed it more, as there were several scenes that had me laughing out loud. Overall, I give it 3.5 stars. I definitely plan on checking out other books by Sara Ney, especially if they are just as funny as this one.

Single/Dual POV: Dual POV.

Standalone or Part of Series: It’s an interconnected standalone in the Not Yours series.

Would I recommend this book? Yes. If you are looking for a funny romance story between two opposite characters, then check out this book. If you read Sara Ney’s books before, you’ll enjoy Harlow and Andy’s book.

so thankful to @saraneyauthor and @theauthor.agency for this arc

even though this whole story takes place in less than a month, everything felt so developed. the pacing was great and i loved how much was included in the story. Harlow is genuinely one of the funniest fmc i’ve encountered, i just loved her wit and personality. Andy is the embodiment of a golden retriever and i could not get enough of him as the perfect balance to Harlow

i do like how the book explored the signing aspect of football, it set up some really cute moments. i adored their not so cute meet cute and how the banter started from the first chapter and never went away. if you’re in the mood for a cute and funny football player romance with some spice, you’ve come to the right place

I enjoyed this despite the cringey moments. It has the banter you expect from SN and a host of side characters i really hope get their own story.

This one fell a tad flat for me. I thought it was a cute, easy read. Harlow was snarky and the banter was cute a times. However, I don’t feel like I was able to really connect with either Andy or Harlow.

Their meet cute was fun. They met in NYC where Harlow delivered so much sass. Fate kept throwing them together until Andy took it upon himself to make his own fate and showed up at Harlow’s front door.

If you’re look for a low angst, cute, sports romance, this is worth a read!

There are moments in life when you need a reason to smile. Not Your Biggest Fan is that reason. Ney take a sassy heroine with a soft heart and an alpha hero with a cocky attitude and delivers a laugh out loud, over the top, seduction of the heart. Opposites attract with irresistible results.

Not My Biggest Fan is my first Sara Ney book. It's the first book of a new series (Not Yours) and features Landon "Andy" Burke and Harlow . After their street meat meet cute, their banter is so much fun, and was one of my favorite parts of the book. One bout of food poisoning later, and we're off and running. The side characters also leave a solid impression. Big Steve (Harlow's dad) is one of a kind, and stole most of the scenes he appeared in. Kevin the dog and his bestie/dog sitter Lydia are a hoot, and Landon's appeals to Dex for help only serve to rile up Andy, giving him some good natured ball busting, making for some funny interludes. I enjoyed the sarcastic witty voice she gave to Harlow, and how Andy just couldn't stay away from this woman whose reaction to him is like nothing he's ever experienced before.
If you're looking for a low stakes, low drama, lighthearted rom-com, this will be right up your alley. It's funny, sweet, and spicy in equal measure. The closing chapter from Dex has me excited for the next book in the series for sure!
Thank you to Netgalley, Montlake, and Sara Ney for this ARC opportunity.

Not Your Biggest Fan is the first book in the Not Yours series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Harlow and Andy had an interesting (and funny) meet cute, and they ended up “meeting” again later. It was kind of insta-love for them after that.

This was cute and funny, but I found a lot of it cringy.

Andy was a golden retriever, and Harlow was super sweet and intelligent. I honestly didn’t really feel the connection between them. I mean, they hardly got to know each other.

I still had a fun time reading this, and I look forward to the rest of the series.

Sara Ney is an author I can always count on to make me laugh, smile, and swoon. Her books are so much fun to read and Not Your Biggest Fan is no exception.

Harlow and Landon's first meeting is less than swoon worthy as it involves food poisoning from a food truck. However, they have lots of chemistry that turns into a great connection.

Sara did a nice job with their relationship development and I really enjoyed watching them fall for one another. The story hooked me from the first page and I didn't want to put the book down. This is definitely my new favorite book from her and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher for providing an ARC for an honest review.

Banter filled
4.5 ⭐️
This was a lot of fun to read. Andy and Harlow had the best banter right from their “meat”-cute. The support characters, Big Steve and Lydia in particular, only add to the lighthearted, easygoing feel of the story.
A great, laugh-filled rom-com, that has cute characters, instant attraction, action, steam, little twists, romance and loads of charm.
I’m looking forward to more in this new series.

This book was a fun and enjoyable romcom. The meet cute/meet hate between Harlow and Andy was hilarious. I loved their date around NYC getting to experience something new together. Andy had the perfect amount of himbo energy. He knew he wanted Harlow and would do whatever it took to get her.
I did struggle with a few things with this book:
- Harlow having no idea who he was. He’s on the cover of GQ, how did she not know?
- The timeline. I felt like a lot of time had passed but it was just a matter of days.

Overall, I did enjoy this book.

Opposites attract is definitely what happened when Andy and Harlow met. I just felt that it was hard to connect to the main characters unlike the characters in other Sara Ney stories even with the banter, the chemistry and timing felt off. I will say that Big Steve was probably my favorite character. I would say this was more a rom-com versus a sports romance as there was very little to do with anything football so don't expect it to be like your typical sports romance. Overall its an easy read light read with little to no drama/angst, so if you want something light to read this will be a good option.

The last thing Harlow James expected when visiting New York City was meeting a handsome stranger and having a whirlwind, romantic day with him. Little did she know, she was swooning an NFL superstar! Landon “Andy” Burke is scouting around prospective teams for where he wants to land in the upcoming season and a not so cute/meet cute lands him in Harlow’s orbit.

As always, Sara’s writing is cute, quirky, entertaining and absolutely HILARIOUS. Andy was an absolute teddy bear and the way he was completely smitten and stumbling over Harlow from the get was so adorable. Harlow was sweet but also sassy and her one liners were total knock outs. Harlow’s dad “Big Steve” may have been the star of the show for me, hilarious and OH SO relatable, I found myself loving him so much. Quick paced and totally fun, I will always devour anything Sara writes for a light hearted and sweet read that is very low conflict and sure to make you smile. 4.25/5 stars!

Andy from Cleveland....

Is really Landon Burke, three time SB winning wide receiver. Harlow tried to warn him not to eat from a certain food truck (which isn't fair, food truck food is the best). She herself suffered the same thing Landon/Andy did. They are both staying at the same hotel. Harlow to sell her app, well drum up funding, Landon/Andy to meet with teams, as he's now a free agent. Once the food poisoning is over, of course those two kids are going to tap that, and they do.

But things get interesting when Andy turns up in Harlow's small town...
Fun and steamy and you know who Andy is supposed to be...Travis Kelce.

Thank you to NetGalley, Montlake and Sara Ney for the opportunity to read an ARC of this title. An honest review was requested but not required.

I've read some of Ms. Ney's other books and enjoyed them, particularly the wrestling romances, so I was eager to give this one a go. However, despite the fun meet-cute and the enjoyable banter between Harlow and "Andy" (Landon) Burke, I felt the pacing was majorly off here. Harlow meets Landon at a street food stand in NYC, where she warns him off of the chicken skewers and he eats one anyways. She happens to run across him that night in the hotel as he's suffering and basically tells him "I told you so" (and of course because those words are an aphrodisiac for any man he is intrigued and pursues her for NYC sightseeing).

The two of them have a whirlwind NYC affair of several days and then... he's on her doorstep in Green Bay, considering moving there. And then they're together. ?

OK, this is hyperbole, I just felt that the New York bit was sooooooo drawn out compared to the, idk, *actual relationship* bit. The reveal that he is a celebrity and his selection of Green Bay (Harlow's hometown) as the lucky recipient of his talents at wide receiver seemed a little anticlimactic when it should have been a bigger portion of the story.

Also, I understand wanting to be relatable, but I think the author went a little hard on the Gen Z slang. At least she didn't have her characters say skibidy toilet (thank GOD) but there were plenty of other of-the-moment buzzwords. It's fun in the moment but it might really date this book in a few years.

I did wish that both main characters had a little bit more of their careers portrayed actively in the story. Landon is nominally a wide receiver but (A) he is in the off season and (B) he's shopping for new teams so other than talking himself up and supposedly visiting facilities and coaches, he really could have been any random fit guy. I also would have liked a bit more depth to, or background about, Harlow's dating app. She didn't seem all that focused on it and judging by her interactions with her friends, neither did they.

That all being said, this is a very fun, light-hearted rom-com style romance. If you love a good New York sightseeing tour with a hardbodied athlete (but none of the sports talk or the absolute grind it requires to actually be a pro athlete) this is definitely the book for you.

A very cute and fun read. I liked that Andy and Harlow got to know each other better as time went on. Harlow finding out exactly who Andy is, was pure comedy gold.

So happy to have a new book by one of my favorite authors, and she did not disappoint! Starting with the crazy out there “meet cute” and follow up meeting. Followed up by both characters’ crazy families and/or friends. As usual we got a fast paced and fun rom-com. I loved the sports aspect of it, and how Harlow literally had no idea who Andy was, because even though she lived in a big football city, she didn’t really care about the sport. Of course, it’s not like her town’s football team was doing well enough that everyone knew players’ names like they do here in KC with our guys.

There were definitely some parallels to good old Kelce and Swift’s relationship, only the Swift was an actress in this story, and not at all like our beloved Taylor Swift, lol. The banter was fun as always with Ney’s books. I also loved how she had one character write a dating ad bio, as one time I even asked the author to write one for me, and I did use it for awhile, however I’m still single, so who knows how that went, lol.

Anyway, it was another fun, sexy, rom-com from Sara Ney, and I’m looking forward to the second book which we get a preview of who it’s going to be about at the end of this one!

4 Star Review Not Your Biggest Fan by Sara Ney

This was a well written, entertaining g read that ticked numerous boxes for me.

This is Harlow James and Landon “Andy” Burke’s story. The characters were engaging and easy to relate too.

Their meet cute was entertaining and they had a connection from the start.

When fate puts them together again it was entertaining to watch the push and pull dynamic of their relationship as it progressed.

This was a cute and fun read. Andy and Harlow meet in Central Park at a food cart. She has no idea he is a famous football star and he likes it that way. There is moderate spice and the romance is quick but easy. The best part of the book is the supporting characters. Harlow's friends and her dad are a hoot and a half.

Sara Ney has been one of my go-to authors for rom-coms and this book is a perfect example of why! This book had a great meet-cute of two total opposites (my fave!) and I felt like the characters were fleshed out really well. The banter was top notch (as always from this author) and I’m so excited to see what she does with the next book in this series!

Not Yours #1

Landon "Andy" Burke is a wide receiver who won three Super Bowl rings and is looking for a new city/team to play for. He's in NYC grabbing a bite to eat before a meeting and is heckled by Harlow James who is standing behind him at a food truck. She's warning him not to get the chicken because he will get sick but of course he ignores her and makes a big deal out of eating it. They make a bet and both take off.

Just so happens they are staying at the same hotel and run into each other later and guess who is sicker than a dog, yup Landon. He can't make his meeting with a team and is lucky to get to his room.
She ends up collecting on the bet and they go sightseeing and have a blast and spend time together.

She lives in Green Bay and figures she had a fun time with this guy Andy and after she gets home doesn't think she will ever see him again until he comes to visit without letting her know. Now what?

4.25
The bantering between Andy and Harlow was hilarious. When he's talking to Dex and then when her dad shows up, I laughed so hard the scenes were great.
I do wish there was more at the end. I find her dad annoying and if you're looking for football action, this is not the book.
I am looking forward to Dex's story.
