I have to say this book doesn't move at a very steady pace. An emotional rollercoaster ride from the beginning to the end. Where's the laughter?
Lady Swan may know her business when it comes to love, but it's an agonizing experience to get there.
Clean romance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book from NetGalley.
Caleb Smythe has returned hoping that his past love will forgive him and they can be friends. But with his past and everything that has happened there is not much hope that he can marry his true love
Isabell Abbott has not forgotten and only slightly forgiven Caleb. But as she learns more of his internal struggles her internal struggles also begin.
I found this book much like the previous swans books. Intriguing and well worth the time to read it. The Swan is helping the girls to find their true loves, but to never find out who the swan is. But really who care as long as the girls are happy.

I absolutely DEVOURED Revisit the Past by Penny Fairbanks! A gem of a book about second chances and learning to trust one's own best judgement. So stirring and lovely!
Second Chance, Historical Romance
Four years ago, he disappeared from her life and broke her heart. Now that he was back, would she give him a second chance? Could she ever forgive him?
Why did Caleb disappear from Isabel's life? He could not convince his reader of his reasons, but could he convince Isabel? In his mind, Caleb was justified in his disappearance, but he would have quite a bit of groveling ahead of him. If you like sweet, second-chance, historical romance, you might enjoy this story.
Lady Swan continues to send mail predicting the seasons love story - this time around a second chance love story . Overall a sweet story , but a little too much lack of/ mis-communication trope going on for my tastes
My rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I cried so much during this book that I quite annoyed and embarrassed my cat Yan, who was trying to lay in my lap.
I just love these two, Isabel and Caleb.
He left her four years ago unexpectedly when his brother died, and has been trying to outrun his grief since then. She's been brokenhearted since then. He's back in town. She received a letter from the famous Lady Swan encouraging her to give love another chance.
I even love all of side characters, especially Aunt Matilda. What a great group of truly sweet people. Another feel good book by Penny Fairbanks that warms my heart.
And, who is Lady Swan!!!!
Thank you to netgalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.
This is a very lighthearted historical romance. Its part of a series revolving around a group of friends. A mysterious matchmaker seems to want to help them. Even if they don't want her help.
Our hero made a terrible decision a few years ago. Can the hurt ever be left in the past?.
Each book in the series could be read on it's own ,but the fun is in following all of them.
Good fun.
I read the first two novels in this series and was looking forward to reading this romance. Although it is a sweet novel, it is also rather angsty and slow-moving. Usually one finds that it is the heroine who is filled with self-doubt and anxiety, but in this case, Lady Isabel is the stronger character and the of Earl Murfield is the one who needs bolstering and the support of his friend. The reasons for absenting himself from Isabel's life seem a little flimsy and did not make sense. Nevertheless, the novel is a standalone and comes to a sweet conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.
The third book in this series with the indomitable Lady Swan. Her matchmaking skills are unparalleled as she provides a second chance for two star crossed lovers. Caleb left England suddenly and didn't seem to think it was important to communicate with Isabel, the woman he was in love with. Thinking she had been dumped, watching her friends find love and dealing with destroyed dreams, she finds it difficult to open her heart again to anyone. A genuinely sweet story covering death, disappointment, envy and trust. Well written and beautifully crafted, each story in the series covers the different personalities of the friends in a lovely and genuine manner.

Isabel Abbott has always been a practical woman. She’d never planned on falling in love…until she found herself entangled in a whirlwind courtship with Caleb Smythe that ended in heartbreak during her very first Season. Witnessing two of her dearest friends find their happily ever afters—with the help of Lady Swan’s letters—almost revived Isabel’s shattered dream. But she fears deep down that she will never have another opportunity at love like the one that slipped through her fingers four years ago. When Lady Swan’s letter arrives with hints that someone from Isabel’s past will be returning, it doesn’t excite her. It fills her with dread.
The third book in the series & another well written book with strong characters & a well paced story. I liked both Isabel & Caleb & enjoyed their journey to their HEA. However it was another case of talk to each other, the miscommunication could have been avoided. I’m enjoying the series & with each book the author seems to be coming into her own

3.5 / Having read all three books and being acquainted with all these characters, their world and their group and individual journeys, I fully admit that this is the story that I have liked the most. It touches very sensible matters such as the loss of a family member due to illness and all the grief it causes, and it does so very delicately while still being very engaging and touching for the reader.
It’s definitely more mature and you can totally see the author’s growth.
I love how different every girl of the group is, but definitely Isabel’s the one I’ve related with the most so far.

A second chance romance, one in a series but can be read as a standalone. Isabel was left brokenhearted when her suitor left for a short business journey and didn’t return for four years. Isabel may have eventually forgiven Caleb but I had a hard time seeing how he could treat the woman he loved this way, regardless of the circumstances. His steadfast friend Lord Wrighthall definitely needs a HEA of his own.

This is a sweet and charming clean romance. Even though it is the third in a series, it can easily be read as a standalone. Reading this book made me want to go back and read the two previous stories! I enjoyed the plot device of Lady Swan (I haven't seen or read Bridgerton, but I imagine this is a kinder, closed-door version, and Lady Swan is a benevolent, matchmaking Lady Whistledown). The main characters were both likeable, as were their friends and family. The writing is good and shows historical knowledge of the era. However, I found the miscommunication to be unconvincing and unnecessary except to add tension. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this book!
