3 out of 5 stars! Carrie has grown up doing everything her mother asked. Though that all changed one night when her lab was having a party. Now she is a pregnant woman trying to find out what would be the right thing for her. With nowhere to turn, she takes a job as a “concussion researcher” for the Bull Riders Association in hopes of getting “away” from everything to get a handle on her life. What she doesn’t expect is a handsome cowboy rescuing her along the way...

I didn’t love it but I didn’t hate it. It was a good novel over all. My major issue with it was, it felt like all of the scenes were rushed so they didn’t have as much substance as I would have liked. While it had well plotted out characters, I also felt they fit certain “characteristic roles” that made it hard to love them completely. In addition, I am happy to say that I never read Book 1 in this series since I was not a fan of Caleb’s brother Logan and his sister-in-law Rachel at all.

What kept me hooked onto this novel, do you ask? Well that would be Carrie and Caleb. Their dynamics were very sweet and it made the struggles that were sent their way more intriguing to see how they would handle it. Though their scenes needed to be developed a bit more, I LOVED how their relationship grew and how they got together. Plus, their banter was the best to read!

However, Caleb was portrayed as a dumb jock more than once, and I wish that would’ve stopped. I wish that because Caleb wasn’t dumb yet I didn’t like how much Ms. McAdam showed a major character development Caleb would have then would throw him back down a few notches with those “remarks” or scenes. It hurt Caleb’s credibility and made me dislike this novel (and Caleb’s relatives) a bit on Caleb’s behalf.

Nevertheless, I did find more good than annoying stuff in this novel. So, I can say I DO recommend it! I especially recommend it to those looking for a uniquely quirky contemporary cowboy romance.
