Hudson is just the queen of banter. I have loved every one in this series so far. There’s wacky moments you laugh out loud to, swoon worthy moments and steam that gets you grinning. You can tell how much fun the author had writing this and I sure as heck had as much fun reading it
Get ready for a hilarious and heartwarming ride with Sara L. Hudson’s Anyone But The Superstar. This novel is a delightful blend of comedy, romance, and unexpected twists, making it a must-read for anyone looking for a feel-good story.
The story follows Anne, aka Liz, heiress to NY's biggest business, who unexpectedly finds herself entangled in the glamorous yet chaotic world of Hollywood. When Felix, a charming yet mysterious superstar, enters her life, Liz must navigate her own heart. Their chemistry is undeniable, and the banter between them is sharp and entertaining. Get NASA mix into all of this; the result is unique.
Hudson’s witty writing and relatable characters make Anyone But The Superstar a joy to read. The side characters are amazing, especially the sphinx cat named Mike Hunt. They all bring together drama, family politics, laugh-out-loud moments, and embarrassing ones as well. This has depth too, and I enjoyed the flow and pace.
It's a refreshing take on love and celebrity, perfect for those who love a good laugh with their romance. You will love the small, day-to-day stuff of the story.
This is the third book in the Anyone But You series, but it can be read as a standalone.
When a one-night-stand goes wrong. Elizabeth, going by her second name Anne, swears off men and wants to concentrate on her internship as a storyboarder at a film set at NASA. Felix, the male lead of the film, cannot afford a scandal and needs to make sure the incriminating picture Anne took of him does not land on social media. Of course they meet at the set. Of course her brother leaves his sphinx cat with her. Of course Anne and Felix have to share a condo due to a misunderstanding. Of course sparks fly. And, of course, both bring a boatload of emotional baggage that needs to be overcome in order for the HAE.
I read the book in one sitting, because I wanted to see what the cat would do next. No, not just the cat, though honestly, this feline is a hell of a sidekick.
The story also crosses over into Hudson's Space series, but, as mentioned above, it can be read as a standalone.
Sara did such a great job with this series!
In the beginning of this book it was a bit hard keeping track of who’s who and what they do because so many new characters were introduced (cast, crew, etc.). However, I really enjoyed that main characters from other books in the series were included and mentioned in this book. Definitely a big fan of Mike and King Richard and their antics😅

"Anyone but the Superstar is a hilarious romance that can be enjoyed as a standalone or as part of the 'Anyone But You' series. The author's clever references to other characters and their stories add a sense of belonging, even for readers new to the series. Lizzy and Felix's story is a rollercoaster of laughter and heartwarming moments, filled with hilarious disasters that will leave you in stitches. The characters are relatable and well-developed, with a diverse cast that celebrates inclusivity. Behind the lighthearted storyline, there are underlying messages about going beyond appearances, and the journey of self-discovery and self-esteem.
While the infatuation with the hairless cat may not resonate with everyone, it is a minor aspect of the book that doesn't overshadow the main story. Overall, 'Anyone but the Superstar' is a truly enjoyable read, filled with laughter, plot twists, and a feel-good atmosphere."

Anyone but the superstar
⭐️⭐️
What got me interested in this book was not only the cover but also what the book was about.
What happens when a moviestar and an heiress, both traveling incognito, have a one-night stand?
Johnny, aka Felix Jones, is Hollywood's go-to action star. About to film his first romantic comedy, he's looking to change his image and show he's more than just a six pack with pithy one-liners. But off screen, he’s got a reputation for other things too, and not all of them are good.
Anne, aka Elizabeth Moore was, until a year ago, heiress to one of New York’s biggest business dynasties. Blindsided at the discovery that she is not, in fact, the daughter of the man who raised her, Liz has spent the past year on a journey of self-discovery. Her most recent discovery? Southern Texas is hot. The weather, the food and the men.
And temperatures do nothing but rise when ‘Anne’ sits next to ‘Johnny’ at the bar. Add in a trip to the ER, a hairless cat, and a NASA movie set, and things get even spicier.
Never mind that Felix has plenty of complications in his life, and the last thing Liz needs is more drama. In fact, when it comes to one-night stands, anyone but the superstar would be better…
When I started reading this I was enjoying it and laughing along and it felt like I was watching a romcom. But for some reason about halfway through, I started to loose interest about halfway through and I was starting to skim through it. I just felt like there was something missing in this book hence why I felt like this.
I really wanted to love this after such a great first half, but it really dropped off after that to the point where I ended up skimming it.
Pros
- Really like the chapter transitions
- Spicy
- Fun
- Laughed a lot
- Really strong first half
Cons
- I can’t put a finger on why but at some point in the middle, I started to not be as interested, I still laughed. Still enjoyed it still read the whole book just something was missing.
- Third act break up
Anyone but the Superstar by Sara L. Hudson unfortunately didn’t work for me. I really tried to get into it, but the constant focus on the hairless cat was just too much. Don’t get me wrong, I’m fine with a cat being part of the story. But when said cat becomes a quasi-main character with scenes in nearly every chapter, it starts feeling like the book was more about the cat than the actual romance. At this point, the author might as well have written a whole book about her cat!
And then there’s the smut... At first, I laughed because it was so awkwardly written that it bordered on parody. But as the book went on, it just became unbearably cringe-worthy. There’s a difference between fun and spicy romance scenes and whatever this was. Unfortunately, this one didn’t hit the mark for me at all.
A serendipitous encounter between a hilarious curse poet and an adorable movie star afflicted with tabby-cat PTSD will have you laughing uncontrollably. I can’t get enough of the charming Moore family with their disdainful hairless cat, Mike Hunt.
Elizabeth “Anne” Moore is a hilariously vulgar-mouthed heiress who has lost her identity and is lying low. Getting her master’s and working as an intern at NASA are her next steps to moving on. Then she meets a stranger for a one-night stand that turns into a numb mouth, a kick in the balls, and a photo that could go viral. Liz is smart, brave, and loves her family. Her resilience shines through in her ability to overcome the emotional scars left by her horrible father’s actions. With support and love from her family, she becomes a strong and independent woman rising above her circumstances. I admire her unapologetic bluntness, which is inspiring, giving her a sense of authenticity.
Johnny Douchebag, aka Felix Jones, is a famous action movie star and nice guy who is trying to expand his acting roles by starring in a rom-com. Then, he meets an intriguing and sexy woman, only to end a steamy night with him on the floor holding his nuts and kicking himself for trusting a stranger. Felix is adorable, vulnerable, and genuine. In a business where image is key and vulnerabilities are often shielded from public view, Felix’s willingness to embrace his flaws and struggles is a refreshing departure from the norm.
Ms. Hudson is a remarkable writer with impeccable comedic timing. Her ability to paint vivid pictures with words leaves a lasting impression, drawing this reader into her stories with each turn of the page. The plot is fun and fast-paced, and Felix and Liz navigate the complexities of falling in love while sharing a condo and working on a movie set at NASA.
If you’re a fan of comedic and heartwarming encounters, endearing and quirky characters, and hilarious cats that steal the show, this book will absolutely have you in stitches.
Thank you to Ms. Hudson for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review..
Anyone But The Superstar is Book 3 in the Anyone But You Series. Its .is a fun, flirty, steamy romance that packs a punch. It’s full of humour and, in some places, even gives you the feels. It’s everything you want in a romance novel. It’s a teasing and tantalising read that keeps you turning the pages.
The story starts off with an embarrassing moment which will leave you wanting more of the storyline. I laughed out loud at the “embarrassing” moment between Felix and Liz. I seriously didn’t see that coming but loved the element it added to the story. I wanted to keep reading to see how and if a relationship was going to flourish. I loved how the storyline involved NASA - how cool right !?! The cat jokes were a great addition to the chapters and hilarious!! Overall, I liked this book and thought I was a great romance story. I found it to be an easy going read with the right amount of spice. If you love a good romance story with the right amount of quirks - give Anyone But the Superstar a Read.
There are times when all I need is a spicy rom com, and this book ticked all the boxes. This is my first time reading anything by Sara L.Hudson, and I had a surprisingly great read.
Part of a series, but each book is almost a standalone with characters from the previous books appearing through all books. Liz aka Anne is an art student with a rich family and John aka Felix is a famous actor. They meet in a bar and the rest is history... but maybe not the history they would expect!
Funny and spicy story that certainly kept me reading! There is even a cat, a Sphinx named Mike Hunt! I will not hesitate to go back and read the other books. If they are as good as this, I know I will have some fun.
I loved this couple. The laugh out loud moments never stopped with them! The chemistry poured out the pages it was sparking that much. It's a story that lightened my weekend so much!

It's been a while since I've read anything by this author. I LOVED her Space series. I was nervous going into this because I didn't realize it was part of a series and I hadn't read the previous two books but this did read well as a standalone. I forgot how much I love her style. Sweet and cute but also super spicy. I've added the other two to my TBR now.
“He doesn’t say it this time, but it doesn’t matter. I know I’m loved.”
Anyone But The Superstar is the third book in the “Anyone But You” series, but it can be read as a stand-alone without problem (even if the author makes a lot of references to other characters and their story, it works just fine). I absolutely adored how this book is also almost a crossover with the author’s Space series. Once again, you don’t need to have read it (I did a couple of years ago, I didn’t remember everything), but the belonging feeling is here, and fun.
Lizzy and Felix’s story is very nice, full of hilarious catastrophes. It had been a long time since I had laughed so hard with a romance. I loved the double hidden-identity, as a necessity but also a mask to drive their insecurities away. They are everything you could expect, AND everything you couldn’t, all at once. The side characters are also very nice, well written in all their diversity.
Behind the light read, the messages to go behind the appearances, to communicate (it’s not the usual miscommunication trope though), and to self discover yourself (and gain some self-esteem) and stop hiding before having a relationship are there, woven into the fun story. In the end, I let myself be carried away by that relaxing read, and the various plot twists, having a really good time.
Thank you Sarah L. Hudson, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the ARC. My opinions are my own.
Johnny, a Hollywood action star, and Anne, an heiress with a new identity, meet while incognito in Texas and have a chaotic one-night stand. Afterward, Anne discovers Johnny’s fame, and they end up working together on a movie set, becoming roommates along the way. Their chemistry is strong, with lots of humorous banter, though the humor, especially around Anne’s hairless cat, might not appeal to everyone. There’s some drama tied to Johnny’s past, but no romantic competition. Despite being part of a series, the book works as a standalone, though references to earlier characters can be confusing.
Pity, but this book was not for me. Though I found the premises quite interesting, the story itself felt flat. Most probably because I'm not a fan of the secret identity trope as well of this type of humor. However, I'm sure many will find this romcom funny.

😊What i liked -
✔ Celebrity/Forced Proximity/Hidden Identity/Opposites Attract.
✔ Mike Hunt strikes again. This cat has some personality. Manages to be weird yet funny. (allergic in real life to cats though)
✔ As individual characters i really liked them.
✔ I really did like they first met and how hilariously their supposed one night stand night ends.
✔ I liked the snippets and appearances of the previous book characters in this.
✔ It was an easy and cute read.
🤔What could have been better-
✔ For me it lacked chemistry. I liked the previous two books better though.

🎦Celebrity Romance

Thank you, Sara L.Hudson, for a copy.
This is the third book in the series and the story of the youngest Moore sibling.
The plot follows the story of Elizabeth who is trying to find herself after realising the father she grew up with is not her father.
There were appearances from characters from the previous books and the popular Mike Hunt. His escapades will make a delightful book.
I enjoyed the interactions between Felix and Liz, especially their first encounters. There were many funny moments interspersed throughout the book.
I loved the relationship between Felix and his mother and his friendship with Jack. Those Portuguese speaking moments were delightful.
If you love family dramas, love and sphinxes then you will enjoy this.
Well, this was a nice and spicy treat for me this week!! I also made the mistake of listening to this on audio....and then the mini one walked past at the completely wrong moment!! I loved this book, haven't read the other 2 books, need to. They are all self-contained with characters in and out from other books and all it has done is make me want to go back and read the other 2.
My first intro to Ms Hudson and it was great! I love this type of book, but the fact that the first meeting between the main two didn't go so well was just added extra! Watching them then having to live together in a condo near NASA, was brilliant. You can always tell where these books are going to go, but for me, I don't mind that, because it's the journey we go on and what I become invested in. Felix (awesome name too) was just the best guy. Ok, so obviously some moments he spoke before he thought, but I found him wholesome with so much spice. He was a gentleman and caring and I loved that despite what had happened to him with his ex, he didn't let it tarnish the next relationship.
I really enjoyed this sizzle and spice and look forward to many more!!!

My Opinion
I have read this as a standalone and whilst there was obviously bits of the back story I have missed I felt I had enough information to enjoy Anyone but the Superstar. This book has taken me a few days to read due to other commitments but whilst I wasn't reading it I was still thinking about the characters.
Sara was a new author to me going into this, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from the writing, but I definitely got an enjoyable read. If you need a laugh then this book will definitely provide.
