Tea You at the Altar is the third book in the Tomes and Tea series and one of my most anticipated books of 2025. I am so thankful for an early review copy of the audiobook, narrated by Jessica Threet. Once again, Rebecca Thorne has told a fantasy story that is somehow both exciting and cozy at the same time. We get to spend more time with our favorite characters from the first two books as well as meet two interesting new characters. We also get fun scenes with some precocious baby dragons. I loved Tea You at the Altar and cannot wait for Alchemy and a Cup of Tea later this year.

A worthwhile addition to the Tea series, I really enjoyed seeing Reyna and Kianthe planning their wedding and being back in their chosen home. As always, some complications add a nice spice to the brew! Kianthe's family invite themselves to visit, which was my favorite part. Reyna and Kianthe's parents have to make peace with each other, leading to some of the most emotional conversations of the book. I also did not know that this is a planned quartet, so now I have to wait for the fourth one to publish?? Oh no! Thank you to Bramble and NetGalley for the review copy.

Just as good as the first two! Ends on a cliffhanger (post successful wedding!) which means it's great that I've already received book 4 and was planning to read that next! I continue to recommend and the puns continue to be good.

Tea You at the Alter follows Reyna and Key as they plan their wedding and overthrowing the government. The town backs them, loves them, and I felt like this book did a great job of bringing all the stories together. I actually was surprised this wasn’t the last one (except that epilogue ugh).

I love the puns, the rep, the characters, the townspeople, the dragons. I just love it all.

I'm not the biggest cozy fantasy enthusiast, but this series has been an absolute delight to read. In Tea You at the Alter, Reyna and Kianthe continue their journey by planning their wedding. But with these two, it's never as simple as that, is it? No, they also have to plan a coup against an evil queen, naturally. Together, these two have to deal with pirates, baby dragons, and most of all - Kianthe's parents coming for the wedding! And they'll have to assemble a team of old and new friends to topple the evil queen's reign.

Reyna, Kianthe, and their colorful sidekicks and friends are such fun characters. I've loved watching their relationship grow over the course of this series, and I find myself invested in each of their wacky, cozy adventures. The third installment in this series does not disappoint in any of these regards. The romance develops even more, and it's very tender and heartwarming. The political intrigue related to Queen Tilaine and their plot to overthrow her is interesting and entertaining, and the plot doesn't unnecessarily stall or spend huge swaths of time on very mundane things (which is my number one issue with many cozy fantasies, hence why I couldn't get into Legends & Lattes despite many attempts). Rebecca Thorne does a great job of balancing the tenderness and humor of mundane plotlines with more swashbuckling ones, and the contrast is very fun.

I highly recommend Tea You at the Altar, and after that cliffhanger ending I will definitely be reading the fourth book!

How much work is it to plan a wedding and depose a sadistic ruler? This 3rd book in the Tomes & Tea series takes the reader along for the ride. The upcoming wedding has our couple and the community in a flurry of preparations. There is a lot of character-building, introspection, as well as plotting. I found this story to be slower-paced and at times dragging although the baby dragons were fun.

As much as I enjoy these characters, the cozy town of Tawney, and especially the baby dragons, this installment in the series fell flat for me. There's chaotic wedding planning that turns into revolution planning, but it took me awhile to get invested and I'm honestly not sure I would've finished if I hadn't gotten the audiobook too. Jessica Threet keeps it light and did accents to highlight the dialogue, so that was a treat and definitely the way I'd recommend reading it.

Tea You at the Altar has everything you need in a read. Dragons, tea, magic, nosy friends, game night shenanigans. This is gold standard cozy fantasy. I'll be shipping Key and Rain until the end of time. Please Rebecca Thorne, continue to give me all the cozy stories about their life until the end of time!

I will say, for some reason, I was under the impression this was the last book in the series and was confused (and very excited) for the setup for the next and final book.

Best book in the series so far. It was a perfect combo of cozy without loosing out on plot. Three books in the main characters are still changing and developing in such a way that only makes me love them more. AND THE DRAGONS!!! Love love love!

Everything in the first two books leads up to this and the ending hints at troubles to come.

This book was a very enjoyable read. I read it in a few sittings and was hooked after just a short time reading. The story was well paced and the characters were well developed.

From the moment I read the Rebecca Thorne's first book, I've been in love with these books. Reyna and Kianthe have the most beautiful love and I'm so glad that we finally got to see their wedding! This was a wonderful reunion with all of my favorite characters of the series and I almost threw my phone across the room when the cliffhanger hit me. I can't wait for the finale of this series and to see what else Thorne writes in the future!

This book was such a nice, bridal edition to the series. It had intrigue and new players as well as old faces added to Kianthe and Reyna’s story. We also got to see how the dragons have grown since the last one. But that ending….. I am already ready for the next one

In the third instalment of Teas & Tomes, Reyna and Kianthe deal with their troubles as the big day approaches. A wedding, dethroning a monarch, baby dragons, and contentious in-laws. How could it possibly get worse? Oh…I probably shouldn’t have said that. But our heroes are getting married and moving toward their HEA. So, that’s something to look forward to. While not quite as strong as the first book in the series, this is an excellent sequel, filled with intrigue, excitement, and of course lots of tea. I was expecting this to be the last book in the series so I was THRILLED with the ending. Sorry for the tiny spoiler. But now that you know there’s one more book, you can prepare yourself for an unexpected shock. 4.5 stars
