After a kind of confusing start finding the voice of each of the women’s POV, a twisty triangle of relationships emerges where everyone’s business is intertwined in a constantly evolving way. The story definitely keeps you on your toes, even when you think you’ve got it all down in the end. I was compelled to see where it was going, even if the tension didn’t ramp up high enough to feel completely dangerous even at the climax. So a slow burn with a satisfying resolution.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy. These opinions are my own.

In Nassau Court, outside of Washington D.C., three families shared their lives. They lived next door to each other. Their children went to school together. Sometimes they went on vacation together. They got together most weeks for to throw some meat on the grill or share some takeout. Their lives are intertwined, but their secrets are their own. Or, they were.
Aimee and Scott have 3 kids, twin boys and a first-grade girl who is neurodivergent. Aimee works as a landscape designer, and Scott is working to develop software to help regulate insulin dosing in diabetics. Lisa and Marcus have a son in middle school. Marcus is a successful lobbyist, so Lisa chooses not to work outside the home. But her frequent Pilates classes keep her in great shape.
Gwen and Anton also have twin boys. Gwen works part-time in a PR firm in Georgetown and works hard to curate her look and her home. Anton wrote a bestselling novel and is working on another while also teaching at a local university. They moved to the neighborhood a year ago, but they fit in and Gwen made friends with Aimee almost immediately.
When the police show up at Gwen’s house early one morning, everyone is curious as to what’s going on. Anton was killed the night before, a hit-and-run in an alley outside of a dive bar they had all been to. Aimee and Lisa step in at once to help Gwen with her kids. But as more information comes out about what happened, the women realize that the police are not looking it like it’s an accident. They are investigating it as a homicide.
Gwen didn’t realize that Anton had left overnight, and they have no camera at their front door. But Aimee does have a camera out front, and when the detective asks to look at it, Aimee sees that Anton had been at their place overnight, and Scott had met him out front. In the weeks that follow, the women discover all sorts of secrets, from money missing from their bank accounts to secret affairs. And then another husband goes missing.
What exactly is going on in this sleepy cul-de-sac, and how many secrets will these women have to unearth to get to the whole truth?
You Deserve to Know is a stunning domestic thriller about the secrets that live if our pasts and the damage they do when they finally surface. I was so impressed with this novel, because every time I thought I was getting to the real truth of what was going on with these families, there was another level of deceit. Over and over, this thriller took a left turn or took me up a steep hill or spun me upside down, making it a wild ride of secrets and revelations. There was not a dull moment in this entire novel. I loved it!
Egalleys for You Deserve to Know were provided by Forge Books through NetGalley, with many thanks, but the opinions are mine.

This one was gripping! Cheating spouses, relationships built on lies, and the question, “Do you really know who you are sleeping next to?” I read this one in a single sitting!

This book kept me guessing all the way into the final scene of the epilogue. Omg such a well written high stakes backstabbing thriller. Just the way I like them.

YES ! This was great, Though the epilogue left me a bit confused and wished I didn’t read it. But the whole ride up to that point was great!
If you loved the TV show Desperate Housewives with Terry Hatcher then this book will sit well with you! Hello drama of suburban housewives! Murder, mystery, lies, backstabbing and more! It’s like a dirty dessert you just can’t stop eating!

You Deserve to Know by Aggie Blum Thompson
Genre: Suburban/ Domestic Thriller
When Gwen’s husband is found murdered in their DC suburb, neighbors Aimee and Lisa step up to help Gwen in her time of need. But are everyone’s intentions pure? Or do they have something to hide?
This had everything I love in a domestic thriller:
✔️Juicy scandals
✔️Secret affairs
✔️Blackmail
✔️Murder mystery
This book was very entertaining and twisty. The competition and jealousy of the neighbors was unhinged. 🍿👀
The murder mystery had me guessing until the end, and just when I thought I had it figured out- bam! The final twist was wild and left me (delightfully) shocked!
@aggie.blum.thompson is the queen of DC suburban/domestic thrillers. You Deserve to Know might be her best book yet!

I just finished reading this book. The plot was absolutely fantastic! It was quite the page turner, and I could nor put the book down once I began reading it.

You Deserve to Know – A Twisty, Gripping Read
This book started out a little slow for me, but I’m so glad I kept reading because it did not disappoint. The story is packed with twists and turns that had me reeling and second-guessing every character’s motives. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the plot shifted again. If you’re a fan of whodunits that keep you on your toes, this is the perfect book for you!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this early copy!

3.5 stars
This book has all the neighborhood drama, juicy gossip, secrets and lies and all the scandal. I didn’t particularly connect with the characters, but I did enjoy the read. It was fast-paced, and I got through it pretty quickly. Entertaining!
My thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book.

Gwen, Aimee and Lisa share more than the usual neighbourly conversation, and divulge their deepest secrets and details to one another. But, when one of their husbands is found murdered, the usual peaceful world is turned upside down turning into a sense of deception and betrayal under the surface of their once peaceful world. This was a well written domestic thriller, though some of the twists were understood quite quickly. Additionally, the use of some real life aspects in Thompson's life made this book even more intriguing. 4/5

I’ve never had so much fun reading about the dysfunctional residents of a suburban neighborhood. Nothing is exactly as it seems and what a ride it is discovering who these people really are.
Highly recommend this fast paced psychological thriller and look forward to reading more of this author’s work.

Who needs enemies with friends like these? 3 perfect families with secrets they'd kill for. I got whiplash reading this book because it's a novel written within the book by one of the main characters so when you get to the end of the actual book you don't know who to believe and who the true villian is. The main character Aimee has poor judgement that it's hard to root for her. Lisa and Gwen both have issues so they're hard to root for. But the constant lies and secrets made this a page turner. This book got me out of a reading slump.

I’m a big fan of juicy domestic thrillers, and even more so when they take place in polished, upper-class neighborhoods. There’s something so satisfying about peeling back the layers of seemingly perfect lives—and this book delivered plenty of that.
Set on a cul-de-sac where everyone knows each other a little too well, the story follows three couples: Aimee and Scott, Gwen and Anton, and Lisa and Marcus. Their lives are deeply intertwined, and as the secrets start to unravel, things get deliciously messy.
Despite the number of characters and subplots, everything was easy to follow, with each person standing out thanks to strong, distinct characterizations. Some of them were downright awful (in an entertaining way), but a few were still likable enough to root for.
I really enjoyed watching all the drama unfold among these well-manicured lives spiraling out of control. The twists kept coming, but it was the ending that really got me—shocking, intense, and completely satisfying.
Highly recommend if you enjoy domestic thrillers filled with secrets, scandals, and sharp turns all the way to the final page.

*You Deserve to Know* by Aggie Blum Thompson is a must-read thriller that completely pulls you in from the start. The story follows three neighbors—Gwen, Aimee, and Lisa—who seem to have it all: a tight-knit friendship, families, and a peaceful life in East Bethesda. But when Gwen’s husband is found murdered after one of their regular Friday night dinners, everything changes.
As the investigation unfolds, the facade of their perfect lives starts to crumble. Tensions bubble to the surface, and what seemed like a picture-perfect neighborhood is suddenly full of secrets, betrayals, and hidden resentments. Thompson does a fantastic job of keeping you guessing, with each twist revealing more about the women’s complex lives and their sometimes-dangerous relationships with their husbands.
What really makes this book stand out is the depth of the characters. Each woman feels real, and their flaws and secrets are so well-crafted that it’s hard not to get totally absorbed in their world. The suspense builds perfectly, leading to a shocking and satisfying conclusion.
This book is one of those thrillers that you just can’t put down, and it’s definitely a 5-star read. If you love twisty, character-driven stories, this one is for you.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc.
This was an unputdownable thriller. If I didn't need sleep, this book would've kept me up all night. Aggie Blum Thompson is a genius author. I did not see the big twist coming. Just wow!!! Highly recommend this book!

Gwen, Aimee and Lisa are neighbors and best friends. But when Gwen's husband ends up dead after one of their weekly dinners their friendship is put to the test.
I love a multiple POV book and this one did not disappoint. I thought the premise was very interesting, and was genuinely surprised by some of the twists! I thought Lisa was wretched. Scott's big secret was pretty crazy and I felt bad for Aimee throughout the entire book.
Thank you NetGalley for an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The story is told through the perspectives of three women. It's centered around supposed friendships in a neighborhood, the reality of what these people really think of each other, and what goes on behind closed doors. I liked the suspense and the flawed cast that kept me wondering if anyone was actually trustworthy at all. Fans of domestic suspense and neighborhood drama will enjoy this one.

Thank you NetGalley and Tor Publishing Group / Forge Books for an ARC!!
I don’t read a lot of non-ya mystery/thrillers so I went into this not knowing if I would like it or not. I shouldn’t have been worried, though, because I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!!
Things I liked:
1. I couldn’t put this book down at all. There were crazy plot twists at the end of every single chapter. I already thought it was a good book but the HUGE plot twist at the very end of the book made it even better! I wasn’t expecting that to happen and it really tied together the whole novel in my opinion.
2. All of the characters were flawed. There were three povs, Aimee, Lisa, and Gwen, and none of them were perfect. Even the ones that were supposedly morally better than the others still had negative traits. This made it hard to figure out who to root for throughout the novel until everything was revealed.
3. There are unreliable narrators. This book is prefaced at the beginning by saying this is a book written by one of the characters (like the fictional book inside the book), so of course she is biased while writing from the others’ povs. It doesn’t really come into play until the very end in that plot twist I mentioned earlier, but it made me question the entire book once I realized it.
4. There are a lot of flashbacks. The story isn’t completely told linearly. There are moments where scenes from the past appear to give more context for a character’s actions.
This is a spoiler free review so I don’t want to mention the plot twist that I liked, but it was so unique, I’ll definitely be thinking about it for a while.

It follows three close-knit families in a suburb where everything appears to be perfect, but the secrets and lies they are hiding are the kind that can break even the most perfect family apart.
This story has plenty of twists and turns. Each one makes you rethink everything you think you understand. People are dead, and secrets are being revealed, and it kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would be revealed next.

Aggie Blum Thompson’s You Deserve to Know is a gripping domestic thriller that delves into the complexities lurking beneath the surface of suburban friendships. Set in East Bethesda, the narrative centers on three close-knit families—Gwen and Anton, Aimee and Scott, and Lisa and Marcus—whose lives intertwine through shared routines and secrets. The tranquility of their cul-de-sac is shattered when Anton is found murdered after a customary Friday night dinner, unraveling a web of deception, betrayal, and hidden tensions among the neighbors.
Thompson masterfully crafts a fast-paced plot filled with unexpected twists and fully developed characters, making the novel difficult to put down. The story’s structure, with its multiple subplots and perspectives, adds depth to the narrative, allowing readers to piece together the underlying truths as the story unfolds.
The novel’s exploration of the dark side of suburban life has garnered praise for its engaging plot twists and realistic, albeit flawed, characters. The seemingly genial atmosphere steadily escalates in tension, culminating in a shocking and shattering ending.
Readers have also responded positively to the novel’s intricate plotting and suspenseful storytelling. Many have found themselves spellbound by the small cast of characters and the “onion-like” plot that peels apart layer by layer, leading to a deliciously unhinged climax. The well-paced narrative keeps readers constantly guessing about the true villain, maintaining intrigue from start to finish.
In summary, You Deserve to Know is a compelling addition to the domestic thriller genre, offering readers a suspenseful journey through the hidden facets of suburban life. Thompson’s adept storytelling and complex characterizations ensure that this novel will resonate with fans of psychological suspense and those intrigued by the secrets that lie behind closed doors.
