I had no idea that this was part of the Eddie Flynn series, but I am not obsessed and reading the other books of the series! I loved this thriller and really enjoyed the characters. The writing is suspenseful, and I appreciate the humor to the story as well. If you are looking for a well written thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat, I highly recommend!

Witness 8 is a new Eddie Flynn book that has so many twists and turns. Eddie is an ex-con who is now a defense attorney. He is hired on by a local neurosurgeon who is accused of murdering a neighborhood woman. He insists that he is innocent and the trauma that his family endures becomes overwhelming. He can’t work and is ostracized by everyone that he knows. Eddie and his team put together a defense through interesting methods.
There is the direct story and then side stories that become intertwined by the ending. This story flows well and it is fun to revisit these characters.
Highly recommend!

Steve Cavanagh has a masterful way of weaving intricate plots around Eddie Flynn, only to pull the rug out from under you in the most unexpected ways—and Witness 8 is no exception. As always, there’s a gripping courtroom case at the center, but what really elevates the story is the chaos happening in Eddie’s life outside the courtroom, adding layers of tension and intrigue.

Also worth mentioning: the narrator for the Eddie Flynn audiobooks is phenomenal. The range of voices and energy he brings to each character adds so much to the experience. If you're into legal thrillers with clever twists and fast pacing, this one won't disappoint.

I was surprised to learn that this is part of a series. Steve Cavanagh did it again though by providing a twisty whodunit that kept me entertained. I am now interested to read more books in this series featuring con artist Eddie Flynn. This book was well paced and thought out and kept me engaged and not wanting to put the book down.

This one was just ok. I had a lot of trouble getting into the story line and caring about any of the characters. I like the concept, but it just didn’t quite do it for me.

I'm a big fan of Cavanaugh and this was another good one. I am not a big fan of multiple POVs so that is why I marked it down a little. If you enjoy his writing styles, as I do, then you will enjoy this latest one. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was better than the last installment and kept me on the edge of my seat, it teetered off towards the middle but was able to pick back up. I look forward to what’s next from Steve Cabanaugh and his legal/crime thrillers.

3.5⭐️ - the story was interesting overall, but it dragged at points and some of the complications seemed unnecessary and/or unrealistic.

I havnt read the whole series yet but this one pulled me in from page 1. Im loving every single one of the Eddie Flynn series!

This one is definitely intriguing, mysterious, featuring rich people and the has beens. It has many characters, but they all mesh so well with the storyline. The multiple POVs makes this even more interesting and suspenseful.

2.75 stars. Rounded up to 3 because I enjoyed one of the storylines. I ended up reading about 200 pages of this and DNF'd it. I have heard such wonderful things about Cavanagh's books and this may have just been a miss, so I will try his works again. This one had so many POVs. I am all for many - even up to 5, but I think there were 9! And there were way too many things going on in this book. From the crime (the best part), the perspectives of all 9 people, the corruption, and what felt like a side storyline with the lawyers. Just too much going on. Surprisingly for such a well loved author. I can't blame an author for trying something new, it just didnt work for me.

I have come to expect nothing less than amazing work from Steve Cavanagh and Witness 8 did not disappoint. The Eddie Flynn series is everything that I want in a series. I cannot wait to continue reading and can devour these books in just a couple sittings. Will forever read, purchase, and share everything by this author.

Fast paced thriller that works as a standalone.

Eddie Flynn and his colleagues are defending a doctor accused of murder while dodging a hit man or two. Eddie has an enemy in the mob boss who controls a corrupt police gang. This brings some nasty people into the mix while Eddie is trying to help acquit his client and figure out who made the anonymous call that got Dr. John Jackson arrested and charged.

Lots of action and murders and hired killers running amok in this one. And then there’s the most evil of them all, Ruby Johnson. I despised her. And I was so unsettled by the conclusion and the inexplicable outcome of her crimes that it actually ruined the rest of the book for me. There were other situations within the narrative that required suspension of disbelief but that was the worst. No spoilers. This was definitely not one of my favorites in the Eddie Flynn series.

I was able to listen to the audio book while also following along in the e-book ARC provided by the publisher. The narrator, Adam Sims, did a great job voicing the characters.

I have read previous Steve cavanagh books but never an Eddie Flynn one. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more.

Thanks to NetGalley and Atria books for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. This was my first introduction into the world of Eddie Flynn and I enjoyed this fast paced thriller. It took me a little while to really get into the story but once I did I really did enjoy it. I will definitely read more of Eddie Flynn and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that loves a good mystery/thriller. I love Cavanaugh’s writing style and he kept me in suspense the whole time!

3.5 stars! I really enjoy Cavanagh's writing style. There is emotional aspect to the story while also comedic aspects, and of course the big mystery and thrill of it all. I love this mix of themes and also all the little plot lines come together so cleverly and nicely. This one was a bit more of a drag than his previous books and it took me a bit to get through, but I still loved it.
