Hating the Cinnamon Roll CEO is an engaging, feel-good romance that blends the popular grumpy vs. sunshine trope with the charm of an autumn setting. The story centers on Marcella, a tough and guarded woman, and her unexpected romance with her sweet, sunshine-like boss, Finn. Unknowingly filling out a dating questionnaire created by Finn, Marcella slowly lets her walls down, leading to personal growth and a deeper connection between them. Their dynamic is compelling, with Finn consistently supporting and accepting Marcella, allowing her to fully embrace who she is.

The book has relatable characters and heartwarming storyline, where both Marcella and Finn bring out the best in each other. The contrast between their personalities adds an enjoyable tension to the workplace romance, making it a delightful, cozy read perfect for autumn. The closed-door romance style keeps the story sweet yet intriguing, making it a must-read for fans of light-hearted, opposites-attract love stories.

I was expecting to read a light romantic comedy. What I didn't expect was to shed tears. Both main characters are unusual. That is putting it nicely. A sweetly charming and strange story. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

I loved this book. Honestly, I didn't think I would but it really captured me.
Marcella was an intriguing character, she was complex and maybe not totally lovable. She was diferent from others FMCs that I have read and that was a good thing. She was a literal black cat and I was living for it. She was so grumpy and touch repulsed (I am too) that it really felt so real. FMCs are always so sunshine and lovable and approachable and she wasn't, and that was everything.
Finn was the perfect boyfriend. That man deserved the whole freaking world. The way he loved her and respected her and didn't want her to change anything about her because for him, she was perfect as she was.
They made a very improbable couple but they worked so well, they fit like pieces of a puzzle. I loved them and I'm glad they had their HEA

A HUGE thank you to Camilla Evergreen and Netgalley for this arc!

Hating the Cinnamon Roll CEO was a fun read with fall, grumpy vs sunshine, opposites attract, and closed door romance vibes!

Marcella fills out a dating questionnaire unaware that her boss, Finn, was the one who made it. Throughout the story, we can see how Marcella’s walls slowly come down and she begins to embrace who she is. Overall, Marcella and Finn’s story was interesting, though Finn treated Marcella much better than she treated him, especially in the beginning of the story.

This was defiantly giving the fall vibes and I was all for it! Hating the Cinnamon Roll CEO was a fun read. Marcella filled out a dating questionnaire after too much wine, finding out it was her boss who created it. She is most defiantly the grump in this story and Finn is the sunshine. Finn lets Marcella be herself! She isn't the nicest person and Finn is the complete opposite of that! Finn is the sweetest guy! You wouldn't think these two would ever end up together! I enjoyed seeing the walls come down for Marcella and open herself up for love!
Great Read!

Loved this book!

It gives autumn vibes, grumpy vs sunshine, workplace romance. The characters were so relatable and he allowed marcella to completely be herself. Both Finn and marcella become the best versions of themselves when together and it’s such a nice cute read!

Thankyou NetGalley for the arc

After too many glasses of wine, Marcella fills out a dating questionnaire online only to find out that the questionnaire was created by her boss!
Queue awkwardness at work when she finds out! she is the Grump to his Sunshine. All her walls are up, can he break them down?

This was a sweet, clean romance. The ladies friendship was fun, the main couples banter is great. He really is a cinnamon roll boyfriend! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, with the change up of who is who in a grumpy/sunshine trope.

This is so bizarre that it is brilliant! Marcella is not nice and wonders if she might be a sociopath. She’s not. She just finds that people annoy her and if she takes off the nice person mask then she lets rip. Her boss gets her to take the mask off and he isn’t disgusted but enthralled. This book is very funny, totally over the top in a positive way and one that had me chuckling for pages. The romance, when it happens, is cute and squishy and the care that actually is taken to woo is rather lovely. An unusual, mad but quite great read.

You’ll like this book if you like:
Enemies to lovers (sort of)
Opposites attract
Billionaire romance
Video gaming
Fall activities (pumpkin patches, hay rides, core mazes)

When I read the premise for this book I was intrigued since I read a lot of closed door romance and love the enemies to lovers trope but when I started reading it, I struggled to like the FMC, Marcella. She hated her boss but we seemed to be missing the backstory as to WHY she hated her boss. She mentioned that he was picky, never stopped moving, and was very detail oriented but then when I’d read the interactions between the MMC and the FMC it didn’t fall in line with him being as horrible as she made him out to be. In fact, he was very sweet and caring and was always paying attention to what she needed.

I enjoyed Finn, the MMC, and thought he was super sweet - almost to the point that he ignores how awful Marcella treats him. He was so trusting of Marcella with money and how dates were done that she basically walked all over him. I felt for Finn though and how he struggled with his loneliness and caring for his mom. I can’t even imagine the weight of running his business as well as not having anyone to lean on.

I’m sure that there will be readers that will connect with this book and love it, but unfortunately it was not one I could connect with.

I absolutely LOVED this book!

Some of the tropes are new to me, as I am just getting back into reading after 15 years. However, they all flowed together so amazingly! I loved it!

My favorite thing about this book, is how detailed and steadily paced the relationship growth between Finn and Marcella is. I loved how Finn was willing to prove to Marcella his love, and allow her time to get use to change. I especially loved the gaming bits, as I’m a gamer girl myself.

I hope to see another book about Finn and Marcella in the future.

I also left a review on Facebook, which I will link below. I also plan on posting a review on TT as well.
