Such a sweet story that teaches young readers about how we shouldn't judge others just because of their appearance
I am a good amount of confused why on one page we have a description of different types of cats, and the next page, in the same shade as the “white cats” from the previous page, text says Alexander’s brother & sister are grey?? They aren’t? Unless I’m missing something??
This is one of the rarer times where I love the storyline, but the graphic design is what lets me down a bit - I don’t know why, but sometimes the text just doesn’t look like it sits in the right spot - like it goes *over* the window in one page so it looks a bit busy
Really sweet little story. It was sad that the kitten was made fun of - but I liked the book highlighting that everyone is unique. The illustrations were cute. My boys enjoyed the story.
I love that the author brings light to animal shelters through children’s fiction. One star for that! Add another star for the beautiful illustrations throughout the book! Final star for the theme of loving those who are unique!
An adorable little story about kitten Alexander who was put into a shelter and waits to be adopted - but most people aren't too fond of the white patch around his eye and his big ears. However, in the end girl Ellie sees him and he is just the perfect cat for her.
The story is the first book of a series about Alexander's adventures and i'm sure this will be a cute series.
This book was cute and cozy, too. I would have loved a bigger overall message for it to really stand out but it will be an enjoyable read with adorable illustrations.
This was really cute. A great introductory book for kids to learn about shelters. A bit sad because of the way everyone one was making fun of Alexander for his eye spot and big ears, but also a teaching moment about differences. My daughter really enjoyed it and I might be getting questions about getting a pet now. The illustrations were very adorable too.

My son loves it, its a story about a sweet can in need of a home.
we really appreciate teaching kids that pets are adopted and not bought.
Such a fun book for toddlers.
This book was really cute and wholesome, a little sad for the animal lover but with a great happy ending. Drives a good message that everyone is special and there’s someone out there to appreciate what makes you different. The artwork was simple yet stunning. A great book for the cat lover!
4.5 Stars 🌟
This was the sweetest read! I love cats and was immediately smitten with this book. 𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗫𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗦 𝗔 𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗘 is an uplifting story that teaches young children the importance of inclusion and that everyone is special in their own way. It would make an excellent addition to any personal or classroom library. Highly recommend.
Very good and cute picture book. The art isn't my favourite style but it is still cute and helps the author show what needs to be shown. I would have liked the picture book to talk a bit more about the process of a animal being in shelters and how the process works, but overall very solid picture book that shows a good message, I just wished it had been explored more.
Thank you NetGalley and Vicky Ann Meier for the advanced reader copy for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.
Alexander Finds a Home is a cute cat picture book. When a family of kittens are brought to a shelter will they all be adopted? I loved how positive the book was as it shared the kitten’s perspective of the shelter. I would highly recommend this book to everyone who loves cats! Kids can learn a lot while enjoying a fun and cute story. I received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley in trade for my honest opinion. My thoughts are my own.
I love a book about cats! I loved the illustrations and you can tell there was a lot of personal inspiration for this book. I think I would have loved to explore more about how helpful shelters can be or a more explicit lesson/theme in the book. Overall would love to read more about his adventures.
