"Swamp Princess (Critters and Criminals #2)" by Tara Lush brings us back to Maggie's life in Florida with her twin sister and their tenant/neighbor, Jack. She spend a lot of time with Jack. I think it's okay to call him her boyfriend/gentleman friend (since some people have an issue with the term boyfriend when they get past age 25). This book boarders a bit more on the romance side than the first one. It gets a bit more spicy but still on the cozier side of romance than full blown romance. Very much more of a cozy mystery though.

They are at a Bigfoot Convention that's in town. Maggie is there to talk about Florida wildlife and Vera, her sister, is selling paranormal romance in the vendor hall. On a wildlife hike that Maggie is leading, a minor celebrity of the Bigfoot world tags along just to fall ill and die in the middle of the swamp. Of course, this is all live streamed by the victim and the Bigfoot community is torn between believing Maggie had something to do with the death or in love with her because she was there when the victim passed. Maggie is curious on top of wanting to clear her name so she and Jack jump into investigating.
