Who is on the market for an Autumn themed book romance book to read? Who also loves brothers best friend? If that sounds up your alley you will love this book!
This book follows Liza who is fresh off a bad break-up who goes to spend time with her family. As someone who is really close to her brother, Vinny and the rest of their family she sees this as the perfect place to lick her wounds and figure out what to do next. When her brother invites a college friend over to eat dinner Liza is shocked when none other than her girlhood crush Matt walks in. The connection is strong from the beginning but Vinny is far from giving his blessing to his friend and sister. Is their connection worth hurting their family and friendships?
This story is cute a little insta love in my opinions but with a brothers best friend story I think it makes sense for the connection to come on strong. The one criticism I have for this story is Matt instantly falling for Liza when he doesn't remember her at all (and I mean at all - like she never existed to him despite interactions) from college. It is almost like he has had some traumatic brain injury or something. There are moments that meant something to Liza from that time and they bring them up and he has no clue. I get that he was a party playboy during that time but it's not like he was blackout drunk each interaction. It is just a little strange to me which started to make the romance feel a little more like lust than love especially at the beginning. That being said it is a cute story and I did enjoy all the fall elements that were incorporated.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a sweet brothers best friend romance and wants a cozy Autumn read. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this story!
Thank you NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and Caroline Frank for this audio ARC!
This was a quick, cute, rom com that I thought would help me get into the fall mood! It definitely provided the fall vibes, but I was surprised to see how quickly the characters seemed to fall for each other, although I think I may have just mnot realized that it was meant to be an insta love situation. I didn't love the male POV in this book since it felt like he was ogling her body from the instant he saw her which I can sometimes appreciate, but it just fell a bit flat for me. The main characters seemed quite juvenile for what I expected and I'm usually a sucker for an overprotective older brother, but Vinny unfortunately gave me the ick.
I appreciate the fall vibes from this and thought that the narrators did a great job in the audio book, but I think the story was just a little too surface level for me.
Cute feel-good Rom-Com.
I loved all of the characters and the relationships.
Some parts were predictable as many Rom-Coms are but still enjoyable.
Nice quick read to get me ready for Fall.
I listened to the audiobook of this and thoroughly enjoyed the narrations.
Thank you, Dreamscape Media, Caroline Frank and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Fall Into You is an insta love romance novel about falling for the brother’s best friend and if that works for you, I think you will enjoy this one. Unfortunately, it did not work for me. It felt like this book went 0-10000 so quickly especially the ending lol. I did enjoy the family focus in this novel and minus Vinny, he was too much for me. The relationship/ writing felt a bit juvenile at times. It was hard to believe these characters weren’t 21 years old. I did enjoy the dual pov’s, the fall setting and the narrators did a good job on audio. Overall, this was 2 star read for me. Many thanks to Dreamscape Media & NetGalley for this audiobook.
I adore how fast and hard Matt and Liza fell for each other. The way they meet is so funny and memorable. The whole book/relationship happened so fast, which in my opinion is not as crazy as some may think. This romcom has great family oriented vibes. There’s mention of covid in the book, but I don’t mind because it makes the book feel more personal and real when including real life issues.
2/5 Stars
Thank you to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for providing me with an ALC.
Fall into you looked like a cute romance and I was in the mood for a short audiobook so I grab this one and it was fun but it fell a bit flat. I really didn’t like the female main character and I honestly don’t think these two stay together after this book. Matt the mmc deserved a lot better from everyone pretty much in this book and he was too nice and caring for his own good. This managed to show me why people hate a certain trope that I have always loved and been the odd one out but in this case I hated it.
Liza is very family oriented and has a strong relationship with her family but when her brother’s best friend from college comes back she starts to dislike how involved her family is in her life. She falls for Matt very fast so when her brother draws a clear line in the sand that forbids them from dating, that should be that but neither can seem to move on from what they could have. Secretly they decide to continue what could be everything…
Even from the blurb which I base my short synopsis off of you can start to see where I have issues with this. Liza heavily takes advantage of Matt’s kindness while keeping their relationship a secret. Matt brings up multiple times that he doesn’t like lying to her brother about this just as they are starting to be friends again and he doesn’t want to be some secret she has to hide. He knows that it will only get worse the longer they keep it a secret but she doesn’t want to hear it. She thinks her brother is going to cut her off if he knows and also she isn’t confident in their relationship tbh. And then Liza repeatedly pushes him away when he brings coming out to her family up. Yes sometimes he doesn’t go about it the best way but I can understand that he hates being a secret and having to lying to his girlfriend’s family. Vinny, Liza’s brother, also is an asshole in this book for a solid part of it. He keeps thinking of Matt as his college self when he did sleep around and ignores when Matt tells him he isn’t like that any more. They also had kinda been distant since college so Vinny didn’t have any actual proof or knowledge that Matt was still that way.
This may work for some but it fell really flat for me. I don’t believe in their relationship and I definitely don’t believe they last even though some stuff happens to mean they will be in each others lives going forward. It just sadly wasn’t for me.
This book was just okay (3.25 Stars). I desperately wanted to love it. Let me start with some positives. Instalove/connection is one of my favorites, and I definitely enjoyed that. This book deals with parental loss. I really appreciated how it described grief and how it doesn’t just end a few months after a loss. The ending was definitely a positive as well, but I don’t want to give away too much. The narrator, also did a great job.
Now on to what I struggled with. Both of the characters seemed to be written younger than their ages or were just immature. The MFC is a runner and isn’t great at communication. I just really wish the main female character had a bit more of a backbone. The entire situation with the brother seemed very extreme. A “bro code” taken way too far in my opinion. I did appreciate how the author expanded on the cause later on.
I receive a free copy via NetGalley, but it did not sway my opinion.
If I never read "bro code" again, it'll be too soon.
We follow Liza, who just got out of a toxic relationship and falls immediately in love with Matt, her brothers best friend, in vaguely fallish settings. Fall into you had some cute moments, but overall it just fell short.
The insta-love was hard enough to deal with, but add in the inconsistencies of when the MCs met and how much they know about each other, and then sprinkle in an incredibly toxic brother, and it made it incredibly hard to finish this book. And then the ending *facepalm*
One of the only things I appreciated about this book was that it had representation of grief and loss, but even that it took too far and into the realm of unrealistic with how the brother handled everything.
Love a good brothers best friend trope. It was a cutesy fall read. Loved the tight knit family aspect. It did feel a little bit too instalove for me.
Thank you NetGalley and Caroline for the ARC opportunity!
I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy fun read.
The settings are perfect for fall/holiday reads. That’s also my favorite time of year so it felt like i was in that season while reading, which was wonderful.
I absolutely loved the two MC and i liked them together. I did get frustrated with Liza quite a bit because she was afraid to take the jump when it was clear that he wasnt, but i also understood part of her hesitancy, especially with her loss and her ex.
Vinny is a piece of work. I get that he has his own demons with his grief and everything but boy, he needed to chill the hell out. He was SO over bearing and it was such a turn off towards his character. The scene in the kitchen? He really thought Matt wouldve hurt her? Outrageous response, honestly. I’m glad he took the time to reflect afterwards but he shouldve had to come grovel. I wouldnt have forgiven as easily as they did.
I loved Danielle. She was the PERFECT bestie/sister in law. 10/10 no notes.
Thank you, NetGalley for access to this audiobook. This book is great for fall vibes and getting into the cozy sweater season feels. However, this wasn't my favorite listen for more recent romantic comedy books. This book frustrated me throughout most of the reading. Grudges were held too long, too much miscommunication, the bro-code was done to the extreme, and the protective brother was annoying. I love a good brother's best friend trope and fun family dynamics, but this book I didn't enjoy. The brother can't let go of his sense of protectiveness since their father died and takes things too far. Then still blames them for being liars and Liza and Matt take all the blame and guilt and feel horrible while the brother doesn't do anything. I thought that Vinny should have done more to make up for the way he behaved. Also, Liza annoyed me as the FMC, she was so indecisive and kept pushing Matt away. Then Matt as the MMC was too strong. He instantly loved her from the second he saw her again as an adult but doesn't remember he met her several times before and then was too pushy. I don't think this book was for me.
This was a fun and happy love story(although disclaimer the MCs both experienced parental loss) with no mind games or doubts about how MCs felt about each other. I love a he falls first & hard trope, but this relationship was on turbocharge. Yes, she had a crush on him when she first met him as her brother's college roommate, but considering how fast their relationship unfolds when they reconnect, it was a bit much for me to believe. The major conflict in their relationship was keeping it secret from her brother. Furthermore, the FMC wasn't portrayed very well considering she went directly from a breakup with her fiance to this instalove relationship.
I still gave it a 3star rating as I liked it well enough, there were parts I didn't like, but overall it was a fine book in the genre.
Thanks to Net Galley and Caroline Frank for the ALC.
I personally don’t like a brothers best friend trope, it’s pretty immature to me and the FMC was also immature. Other than that, I enjoyed this romance, there was spice and a decent plot.
3.75 stars!! Super cute little fall themed romance with brothers best friend and (sort of) forbidden romance. I had such a fun time listening to the audiobook and getting both characters POVs throughout the whole journey as well as insight into the other characters perspectives. I really appreciated the emotional openness of so many of the characters and the fun Italian family dynamic. Overall very fun cute book!!
This book fell a little flat for me. I feel like there wasn't any plot until over halfway through, where there were a few more tropes piled on leaving me feeling like this book was trying to do too many things to justify the insta-love and/or lack of clear direction. I knew it was going to be a fast-paced romance going into it, and that's usually justifiable with characters that have some sort of prior connection (such as brother's best friend), but Matt has no recollection of his previous interactions with Liza so the grand declarations of love after 6 weeks made me cringe.
I did enjoy the dual narration of the audiobook.
I'm curious to read the rest of the books in the series, though!
I listened to a heartwarming autumn romance that left a lasting impression. The story is filled with charming traditions and lovable characters that made it incredibly enjoyable. Each character is well-developed, adding depth and relatability to the narrative.
The romance at the heart of the story unfolds gradually, with just the right amount of anticipation and tenderness. The couple’s journey is beautifully portrayed, making their eventual connection all the more satisfying.
Set against a cozy autumn backdrop, the book captures the essence of the season perfectly. The setting enhances the romantic and nostalgic atmosphere, making it a delightful read that beautifully combines love with the charm of autumn.
Very cute, low stakes read that you pick up just for the kicks. The fall vibes make it a great, cozy read.
I love the fall vibes. I wanted a good story to get me in the autumn mood. This just fell a little flat for me. The relationship felt forced in this spicy novel. The setting and characters have great potential. Just missing some chemistry.
Thank you Dreamscape Media and netgalley for this advance listening copy of this sweet and feel good romance. I really liked the dual POV with two narrators and the trope of brother's friend to lovers. This is a perfect fall romance to add to your TBR list
this was an adorable story, from start to finish it is filled with so much love, acceptance, gentleness, and fun. I love the way Liza and Matt are so drawn to each other from the beginning, how committed they are to be with each other right from the start, it was the most adorable insta-love connection! I love the way Matt makes his intentions clear and is honest with what he wants, the life he’s led, the ways he’s grown and changed while still accepting the hurts he has caused.
Liza needs some extra reassurance at times, and Matt gives her it every time with so much love. I loved the way Liza found ways to heal and overcome from some hurts in her past, while also having fun and keeping connected to the people she loves.
I didn’t love the overprotective (misogynistic) older brother trope, but I felt it was handled well here by calling out the destructive parts of it while also explaining the reasoning behind it, even if it wasn’t acceptable. I also loved the way the older brother/best friend was called out for his destructive behavior in a loving way that healed relationships rather than sever them.
overall I really loved this sweet, spicy, special story, especially with all the odes to autumn (the best season) and all the overwhelming love throughout it. thank you for the alc :)
