Tracy refurbished an old school bus for her daughter Willow and her friend Amelia to take their long-awaited motor trip to Niagara Falls. A few days before their expected arrival home, a strange man arrives at Tracy’s home with the school bus and Willows's keys. He had no idea where the girls were. He was just told to return the bus. A panicked Tracy ran out to the street and opened the door to an empty bus. The inside was in complete disarray, and Willow’s hair clumps were found on the floor.
Where were the girls? Nobody knew. Would she ever see her daughter again? It is a heart-stopping, unputdownable thriller with twists and turns that lead to an incredible ending.

Thank you to the publishers & Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in advance!

It wasn’t the best book I’ve read, but then again it wasn’t the worst book I’ve read, however I thoroughly enjoyed reading it! For me, personally, I love a book with a lot of twists and this book contains just that!

Once again thank you to NetGalley for choosing me to voice my opinions on this book!

My first book by Ellery Kane and this one is definitely a doozy.! With a road trip that has so much going wrong and a mother that ends up with a missing daughter; this book definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat as you read. What begins as a road trip (in a converted bus) for two young adults who have just written a book together, ends up becoming a deadly adventure. Multiple plots emerge with a mix of friendships going wrong, murder, theft, dodgy romances, corrupt police and a detective with a massive chip on her shoulder. The book immerses the reader in the world of writing and publicity and also emphasises the role of social media both in book sales and in attempting to solve crimes. Another big question that arises throughout the story is how far a mother would go to help her daughter. This was an engaging story that at times had a bit too much going on, but was still a fun and entertaining read. Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for letting me read an advanced copy in exchange for a review. Due out in Australia on 8th October 2024.

A lot of books usually either have a super good beginning or an amazing end. It's pretty rare for me to find one that has both but this defiantly had such a great beginning and all the way through pace that kept me wanting to keep reading like crazy and it also had an unforgettable ending. A missing daughter won’t disappoint!

A mother's worst nightmare unfolds as her daughter's camping bus arrives home in the dead of night, but she's nowhere to be found. Amidst a raging storm, a stranger reveals he was hired to drive the bus back. Panic sets in as the mother discovers chilling evidence of a struggle inside the vehicle. With her daughter missing and her belongings scattered, she embarks on a desperate search to uncover the truth and bring her home safely.

Almost from the first page I was drawn into this story, it’s well written with a plot full of twists. The story revolves around a mother's desperate search for her missing daughter, and the author weaves a narrative filled with twists, turns, and heart-wrenching emotions. The characters are well-developed, filled with flaws (and not always likeable). Kane's ability to build tension and suspense is excellebt. If you enjoy a thrilling read with a compelling plot, "My Missing Daughter" is definitely worth checking out.

“My Missing Daughter,” by Ellery Kane, is a bit of a wild ride. Two young women go off on an adventure … only one returns home. Toss in unreliable characters, relationships fraying, and social media and you’ve only scratched the surface of this book. This was a roller coaster of a ride but in a really good way. Do you trust the main parent? Do you trust the recollections of the returned daughter? And what is up with the teacher? And why is the trip mirroring the novel the girls were writing - or was only one really writing it and making it come alive? This book took some cases from the national news as inspiration, but sometimes truth is really odd. This was a really fast read for me and it kept me really engaged. Very enjoyable and very twisty.

Enticing, twist filled thriller that will keep you riveted.
Willow, a young aspiring writer, takes off in her mom's renovated bus/camper trip with her best friend Amelia, to travel as she finishes and promotes her new story, on a travel podcast.
But once they drop off the social media grid and stop returning texts and phone messages, Williow's mother becomes convinced something has happened to them. When a driver turns up at her house to drop off the camper/bus he says he was hired to drive home to her, she calls the police in.
The story takes off and the twists and turns start coming.
Willow and her best friend may not be as inseparable as the mothers always thought.
A little over over the top at times with the escalating tensions between the mothers but easy reading with some very well defined moments of nail biting anxiety.
I never saw it coming.

Wow. 👏 What a twisty, impossibly captivating, psychological thriller ride here. If you want to be surprised and thrown for a loop then GET. THIS. BOOK. 🙌

At first I wasn't sure I would enjoy it, it starts off with 3rd person perspectives and limited character understanding - but hold onto your hats because this novel builds and builds into an absolute monster of secrets, character collisions, and shock.

The twists just keep coming, and right when you're about to groan that you "saw it coming", curveballs pitch at you from all sides 👌

The author has done a fantastic job of constructing scenes that ring true throughout our modern media; from using instagram hashtags, investigative journalism themes, and the struggles of law enforcement. A real reflection of media frenzies during investigations, and a hint of the recent "Gabby Petito" case, but between best friends (which the author acknowledges). This book captivates the reader by building up some major twists and shock about what really happened.

Do you love twists? Well, buckle up and be prepared, because you can't put this book down once you start? 🙌👏👌

I'm going with a very strong 4.5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 (and am rounding up to 5 for the star values)
I did find the very end/prologue felt quite rushed and lacked the same feel of charisma the rest of the book developed. My only real disappointment here.
Otherwise, wow!!

You got me! I thought it was going to fizzle out and be predictable, but here I am telling you twisty thrill junkies to 💯 buy this book!!!

Wow. This book got me. I thought I had it all figured out, and then one surprise after another. Excellent writing and I loved the present, past and media chapters. Normally, I don't care for that but in this book it made perfect sense and made the book better in my eyes. Ellery Kane never fails to entertain, but this has got to be the best by far.
Thanks to netgalley, Ellery Kane and bookouture for the chance to read this advanced reader copy.

When you have children, you always worry when they are out of your sight. It does not matter whether they are nine or nineteen. You want to keep them safe, no matter what.

Tracy is the same kind of parent. She moves heaven and earth once she hears the devastating news about her daughter...

The author gives the reader tickets for the seats on the front row to follow the story in the present with the police investigation and by taking us back to what went on before everything went awry. Besides that we are able to witness how a post on social media can start speculations and enables everybody to add their opinion on the matter.

This book is a textbook example of how little you really know and can allow yourself to trust the people around you.

It kept me guessing until the very last revelations and then my mouth fell open. I never had imagined it would end like this, but I loved it.

If this was a film, some of the characters would deserve an Oscar.

This book is one fine piece of art. 5 stars

Thank you

Imagine a knock on the door when someone drops off the camper which your daughter Willow and her best friend Amelia where supposed to be in? The man delivering the camper has no idea where the girls are, he is just making the delivery.
The girls were going on a cross country trip to Niagara Falls, while finishing their book about a Road Trip which they started in high school. The camper shows signs of a struggle and a clue to her daughter.

What has happened to Willow? Amelia shows up back home and is unwilling to give many details. What really happened? The mothers have their own opinions and there are plenty of characters to make you suspect many scenarios. Well done Kane!

Wow, what a thrill ride! When thought I had it figured out there’s a surprise twist around every corner! My Missing Daughter is a page turning psychological thriller that I could not put down. There’s a cast of characters that all fit well into the story and I had a range of emotions with each one. As Tracy searches for her missing daughter, I felt I was right along side with her. Told from different viewpoints in the present and past, the author also intertwines a nice balance of chapters written in social media format. I thought was a great addition to the overall story of Willow and Amelia taking a road trip, and doing what most young people do - post on social media. I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end and look forward to more for, the author.

I didn’t see that ending coming! Two young ladies set out on a girls trip and only one comes home. The author creates lots of tension with timelines before and after Willow comes up missing. There are plenty of twists and turns and plenty of suspects with well-honed lies. This book had me guessing until almost the end. If you like reading thrillers with twists this is a book you will enjoy. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.

One of the best psychological thrillers I have read. What a great job Ellery Kane does in creating this thriller. Kept me guessing the whole way throughout the book. Willow and Amelia, best friends since childhood , embark on a journey to Niagara Falls and chronicle their journey to encourage interest in a book they are cowriting. What causes people to change and act the way Amelia did? What made Willow make the decisions she did during the journey? The weaving of social media comments into the story gives us clues and shows how society can get wrong ideas and create false narratives. Well done. Unexpected ending! I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review.

This book has a little of everything and just when you think it is going one way , it goes another and then another. Two mothers, competitive, one unlikeable, the other, is telling the story of their daughters, also competitive with one unlikeable, as well. We get invested in the story of the missing daughter and worry for her, is she going to be found alive Throw in unreliable narrators, crooked ex boyfriend/former cop, crooked grandmothers and a road trip to hell. Enjoy the ride! 4.5
