The book was a hard read, very uninteresting. I concur with other feedback given about this book. I wish it had more to offer, but it just did not. It was just an unhappy read.
I did not really enjoy reading this book. I did not really like the message of this book and the two people that is focused on had a lot of problems.
Not sure how to review the book. Both parties could do with some sort of counseling at this point, life is to short to be unhappy.
Thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.
Sorry to say, this did not hit the spot for me. After reading, I realised that the publishing house focuses on promoting authors with mental health issues. I think it would have been something to put at the beginning rather than at the end.
The whole time, I was getting the impression that this was written for some homework assignment issues by your therapist or divorce lawyer. It just felt like a complete and utter brain dump with no format, no method or and real consideration to the reader to put it in a format that would be acceptable to guide them down the road of this story.
Saying what I’ve said, I don’t know what I feel about her. Do I feel sorry that she has been in a loveless train wreck of a marriage for nearly 50 years? I don’t think so, I just couldn’t get past the lack of structure and depth to get emotionally attached at all.
Assuming the “two words” was “accept it”, this was aptly named. An unhappy marriage, a husband with no empathy, a wife with no self love for herself… they all accepted the shit show of a life and just got on with it.
