Short and sweet, this book is jam-packed with why exercise is important during/after pregnancy. Gina provides stretches, workout plans, and tips on how to maintain exercise throughout your pregnancy. I appreciated the mix of scientific research and practical application. Being in my second pregnancy currently, there was a lot I was able to apply and will incorporate into my exercise regimen.

This book would be a great starting place for anyone who doesn't know how to incorporate exercise with your pregnancy. A couple things I wish it had more of - more pictures of stretches/exercises. There was a lot of directional jargon that I sometimes had trouble visualizing in my mind and wish I had more pictures to look at. Gina does provide QR codes to videos which were super helpful as well. One other thing that would be helpful to incorporate is a nutrition section. I agree that it's important to exercise during pregnancy, but also equally important to have good nutrition before/during/after pregnancy.

This is a wonderful resource for anyone looking to physically prepare for birth. Conley has done a great job balancing training concepts, the science background, and how that helps prepare for the big event. Complete with peer reviewed references for further digging if you choose. This would be a great baby shower gift!

This is a great resource for an active pregnancy! It has a wealth of specific, helpful information (e.g., statistics extolling the benefits of prenatal exercise; sample workout routines with photographic demonstrations). The author is obviously very knowledgeable about fitness, and I learned a lot.

This would have been a five-star read for me if it had felt more accessible to beginners and if there had been more specific in-text citations to justify particular exercises (in addition to the general list of references at the end of the book). Some of the labor positions seemed helpful, but others seemed very unlikely to conserve the energy needed for pushing.

I still recommend this book - and I also recommend running your prenatal workout routine by an OB/GYN just in case.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the free digital review copy. I post this review with my honest opinions; I was not required to post a positive review.

This is a great guide! It takes you through each trimester so you know what is safe to do during each! I also liked the exercises to prepare for birth! Definitely buying this for when I do get pregnant!
