I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

I loved all the tropes: rivals to lovers, arranged marriage, slooooow burn. The banter between Benedict and Lucy is 👩‍🍳. I was cheering by the end when Lucy finally stood up for herself to all the adults in her life that have been bulldozing over her.
I am excited to read the next book in the series. I like that there isn’t a big cliffhanger but the unfinished plot with Peter and Faye has me wanting to see how that ends.

4.5 stars!

I kept putting off reading this book, and I seriously regret it because I ended up loving it so much! The characters were amazing, both as individuals and together, and the plot was so well done with some of my favourite tropes. The writing style was smooth, easy to follow, and incredibly enjoyable. It’s one of those books you can’t put down, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great read!

Thanks to NetGalley and the author for the ARC!

The characters are lovable, and the plot moves at a steady, enjoyable pace. A great escape for anyone looking for a magical love story.

A whimsical enemies to lovers novel based in the magical town of Foxworth full of Halloween vibes. A perfect little witchy book to pull you back into the autumn scenery. Lucinda and Benedict’s back and forth romance will make your feel gushy and comforting at times. When they are first introduced, they are more rivals than future lovers. But as their relationship develops, you start developing feelings for them. Hoping they can work through their differences. I wanted more flirting. More banter between the two before developing actual love. To me, the L word was used way too quickly when there was more time to create more between them instead of insta-love. The background characters had a lot of life to them but I wish were brought up more often. Felt almost forgotten at times. But overall, a super comfy, autumn romance read. I look forward to reading another novel by the author!

A wonderful romatic read! With well-written characters and a plot that is engaging. With charm and family dynamics that keep one interested and wanting to know more. A great lighthearted book that I enjoyed.

This is the book that introduced me to the world of Kate Callaghan, and let me tell you, I AM ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH HER BOOKS.

I have since read most of her books and am her biggest fan. Her books are unique, fascinating, and captivating. Stories that make you think about them for a very long time.

This one is my favourite out of all her books. A story that is so fascinating and exciting, you can't stop reading it. Oh, before I forget to tell you, it's an enemies-to-lovers love story, too!

I love this action-packed, page-turner so much. From the first page, the book is incredibly exciting and full of sarcastic hilarious banter. Although, banter may not be the correct word for it. Their pranks are playful and harmless.

We are in a mystical town of Foxford, a place full of witches, werewolves and other fascinating creatures. A secluded community of magical beings who were persecuted in the human world in the past, but here they find refuge and kinship among "like-minded" individuals. Creatures who possess magic.

I loved every second of this book. All these amazing characters and interesting themes. l love reading about all the potions and the magic.

I can vividly imagine what this village looks like, with all the shops and cafes, and the library, and the unique atmosphere and charm that the town has.

I love this unique, humorous writing style and flawlessly written story.

I would recommend you to go blind in the story if you like paranormal/fantasy romances.

It's the first book in a standalone series and I already can't wait to read the next book.
I hope Rosie will get her book next.

This was a cozy light-hearted small town romance filled with witty banter, lots of magic, a disastrous spell, an arranged marriage and two people who hate each other falling in love. I didn’t really have any high expectations for this one kind of read it because I liked the cover. It turned out to be an okay book but isn’t something I would want to read again or more of. The only thing I enjoyed was Lucinda and Benedict experiencing the magic swap and scrabbling to fix the situation before it was discovered by the coven. That small mishap pretty much shaped the story and brought the MC’s closer together. The world-building was very detailed and vivid which added to the atmosphere the author was trying to create. Overall, the book was okay probably won’t be reading the next book in the series though.

This is such an enjoyable and atmospheric read. I loved this story which had a lot more depth than I expected. If you like witchy towns and a bit of academia thrown in, you'll enjoy this. I believe there are more books in this universe and I'm going to have to suss them out.

For me, this book was OK. It was likable; I didn’t love it but didn’t hate it either. I really enjoyed both Lucinda and Benedict as characters. The tension and the banter between them was what kept me reading the book.

The ‘enemies to lovers’ vibes and the proposal of convenience along with the magical setting in a small town had me hooked from the start, but I’m disappointed that it was such a slow paced story. It felt way too slow and not like much happened.

Overall, this is a book for you if you want a slow-paced paranormal romance book with witches, spice, banter and magic. It’s a perfect read for fall.

Spooky season + enemies to lovers + whimsical setting = an incredibly cute Halloween read! I loved following the journey of Lucinda& Benedict in this magical story!

This is my second book by Kate Callaghan & I love her stories during the holiday season. She writes cute, easy to read and fast to pick up books that will hook you until the end.

Thank you NetGalley for this arc!

This was such a cutesy book for the spooky season without being to serious. Liked the main characters and the plot was nice to follow

This was such a good Halloween romance!

I love Lucinda, I think she was such a good main character and instantly fell in love with her. Benedict was also so loveable and once they got over being a little silly at the beginning, I was so on board with their romance. Once I realised there would be no silly third act breakup I audibly cheered.

I loved the magic system as well! I think in some books in this genre, you can lose out on the romance to worldbuilding, or vice versa, but Kate Callaghan fleshed both out really effectively.

Thank you so much to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the arc. 🫶🏻

Potions and Proposals is a cute romance with a witchy twist that’s perfect for autumn! Imagine a magical small town with cozy Halloween vibes that’ll make you feel like you’re sipping pumpkin lattes by the fire. Foxford is the ultimate cozy, witchy town, and it’s hard not to fall in love with its charm.

The story centers around Lucinda and Benedict, two enemies stuck in a magically arranged bond. The tension between them is classic enemies-to-lovers with a magical flair. If you’re here for autumn feels and magical romance, this book will be right down your alley.

I want to start by saying that I absolutely loved the FMC. She is so smart but also, kind and playful. I loved the chemistry between her and her "nemesis" and how the relationship evolved with some awkward moments, but cute nonetheless.

I loved how the magic powers work and how they learned more about each other while learning more about magic. The story is very romantic, but in a cute and cozy way.

All in all, I loved this story and the relationship presented in the book was absolutely dreamy

This was very cute and quirky. I identified heavily with Lucy, the introverted librarian. Loved Benedict! Found their love story to be sweet and charming.

This book was very cute and I loved the characters and the town of Foxford. The side characters were quite engaging and I'm excited that the other books will follow others in the town.

That being said, I think it was a little too long. A few too many storylines. I think them trying to fix their powers was unnecessary and dragged the book out too much.

I think it was very good but should have just been shortened by about 50-100 pages.

3.25 stars! 🌟 Alright, let’s dive into Potions and Proposals by Kate Callaghan! 🧙‍♀️✨ Think magical small town, enemies stuck in a magically arranged bond, and Halloween vibes that will practically make you feel like you’re sipping lattes by the fire. 🍁🎃 It took me a hot minute to really get hooked, but once I did, oh boy—what a ride! The tension between Lucinda and Benedict was chef's kiss—classic enemies-to-lovers, and Foxford is like the ultimate cozy, witchy town. If you’re here for autumn feels, this town’s your new best friend! 🏡🌙

✧ Arranged Marriage 💍
✧ Small Town Magic 🏡
✧ Forced Proximity 🔒
✧ Magical Mishaps ✨
✧ Halloween Vibes 🎃
✧ Found Family 🥰
✧ Witches & Vampires 🧛‍♀️

Let’s talk Lucinda and Benedict—these two were so childish with their rivalry at first. 🤦‍♀️ Total "ugh, I don’t wanna work with you" vibes. But once that magical bond starts to kick in, things get real interesting. 🙃 I was totally here for their enemies-to-lovers drama, but I was low-key frustrated because we didn’t see enough of them together until halfway through! Like, come on, let’s get some interaction earlier, PLEASE! 😩

The magic system and witchy coven were really cool—so much potential! ✨ The side characters were fun but I needed more of them. The romance... I’m torn on this one. It felt like a bit of insta-love, which, y’know, meh. The flirty moments were basically non-existent at first, and then BOOM! They’re suddenly in love? 😳 I needed a little more buildup and some swoon-worthy moments before they jumped to the I love you stage! 💕

BUT, the vibes were so cute! 🎃 The magical atmosphere was total fall perfection, and all the pranks and banter had me cracking up. The setting? Easily my favorite part. Cozy, spooky, witchy vibes that made me wanna snuggle up with a hot drink and a blanket. 🍂☕

All in all, I had a fun time with this one! It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely cute and cozy—great for anyone who loves small-town, magical enemies-to-lovers with that Halloween charm. I’m super curious to see where the series goes from here. 🤞🏻💫

Big thanks to NetGalley and CallaghanWriter for the eARC! ❤️
