Amethyst, Rose, and Lav, go to elementary school together, but its not your typical school. Amethyst has a lot going on over winter break, her mom has kept secrets from her. This was a very good read. I really liked Amethyst.

This was a sweet and fun read. I loved the school setting for this book. I cannot wait to share this with my kids.

As a second book, it definitely left out certain things from the first book. It wasn’t that you needed to know but it was confusing when things were referenced at times.

The story as a whole was a good middle grades fantasy with some Harry Potter type vibes (magic and boarding school) but also really its own story. The elemental names of the main characters were pictured when they were the narrator of a chapter which was a fun addition!
