4 sparkling stars... I was blown away by how much I liked this book. It was cute and fun and light... well as much as a book about a murder can be. More than anything... it was FUNNY. The dryness of the humor fit right in with my own. I loved Pom and how she navigated her life falling apart. The story was easy to follow and the resolution made sense. 👠 When I received an email from @atria with a request to read this and it compared it to if Blair Waldorf’s [yesss the Gossip Girl, Blair] grandma got murdered and she had to slum it with Dan Humphrey while solving her murder, I. WAS. HOOKED.
And hook me it did. From the very first spoiled rich girl page.
🧳 Our main character Pomona is out of touch with how the other half live, but instead of it being obnoxious and over the top it is comical and endearing.
👠 I ADORED Pomona and watching her grow as a person and become a better version of herself.
🧳 The murder mystery was well done and had you thinking it could be any of the suspects until it all came together in the end.
✨ My eyes will definitely be peeled 👀 because of that flawless set up for book two!

I'm not normally a fan of comedic mysteries but I warmed up a lot to Pomona! Quick and fun read...and a good surprise ending. Maybe a bit too romance focused for me but I'm sure it will be very popular.

I loved that this was about a girl that went from being rich and not having to think about money, to a girl that has to fight for it. It makes for an intriguing story and I loved it! I really liked that there was a romance aspect with this book along with a mystery. It makes for a well rounded book. The character development was perfect and I just loved this book.

This book was so good! I absolutely loved the character development from Pom through the book and her ongoing development with her new life. The romance in this book was very subtle and made it all that much better! It didn’t feel rushed or over the top out of place. Gabe was such a patient person and their chemistry was so great.

As a girl that loves mystery and romance this was the perfect book. I had guessed from the beginning who had done it but the book really has you second guessing yourself at every turn! It was such a fun read and I can’t wait to read more from this author.

A rich brat loses everything when her grandma is murdered and the estate is frozen until the case gets solved. So after stumbling around like a penniless brat and expecting her new roommate she’s crushing on to shop for and buy all groceries, she teams up with him to solve her grandmas murder. Basically tries to copy 2 broke girls but adds in murder. Even has the same bake shop dream. Falls short on the lovable and funny aspect.

250 page quick read. Not very realistic because why did no one have a dime in a bank account of their own. And why was the roommate so nice and forgiving of a brat who made him do and pay for everything. But not bad. I didn’t see the twist coming and I’m glad Pomona grows up and makes something of herself.

Love this riches to tags to riches mystery!! I couldn’t put it down and finished in a day. If you’re a fan of Gossip Girl, murder mysteries and cute romantic banter this is perfect for you. I can’t wait to recommend and so appreciate the opportunity to read.

For fans of the Inheritance Games and the short-lived Freeform show The Watchful Eye, with a touch of Legally Blonde.

What if someone you know murdered your family's staunch matriarch? Could it be someone in your own family? Or a friend? I didn't see the ending coming, and I enjoyed the humour. I only bumped against Pomona coming so naturally into her calling. Everything else flowed with comedy and high stakes. While there was romance in the story, it wasn't the major draw. I enjoyed the mystery and comedy.

Pomona is the character you hate at first, but learn to love. Her cluelessness is just as strong as her stubbornness and her personality will guide you through this book. I was hooked when the press release mentioned Gossip Girl - but this is a thousand times better, The character development will really turn you around in this one. Can't wait for more from Bellamy!

If you liked Alexis from Schitts Creek, you might like this. The personalities are similar, but the humor isn’t as funny. It’s a very quick read, romance mixed with mystery.

I absolutely loved this book! It has the perfect amount of mystery and romance. A definite must read!

Pom is an entitled heiress who suddenly loses everything and has to solve a murder to get it back. I thought this was a really funny cozy mystery! A cute story of redemption!

I honestly loved this book, it gave gossip girl meets Finlay Donovan vibes! The plot was engaging, the dialogue and characters were well written and kept me guessing the whole time!

It was nice to see Pomona change and grow throughout the book, as well as her feelings for Gabe deepen and develop. Everyone should have a Gabe in their lives!

Can’t wait to purchase a copy when it comes out, will definitely be my pick for book club!

I have a really hard time enjoying a book when I can't stand the main character. She was extremely self-centered and everything she did in the book was only to support her own cause. I was honestly annoyed when the book ended with everything tied up in a nice little bow. I would've been happier had Pomona not gotten everything she wanted. The storyline was kind of all over the place with major plot holes. The only redeeming character was Gabe and even he was delulu.

This book was such a fun read! It had the perfect mix of mystery and romance, and I was hooked from the very beginning. I mean, a murder mystery wrapped up in a sparkling, Upper East Side setting? Sign me up!

The story reminded me so much of Gossip Girl with a whodunit twist.

I was surprised to find out this is a debut novel because it was so well done!

Overall, this is the perfect book for anyone who loves a little romance with their mystery and enjoys stories with a bit of glitzy, Upper East Side flair.

I love a good murder mystery with a bit of romance! At first I wasn’t sure how to feel about Pom but she quickly grew on me. I would have loved to get a bit more of Gabe though. He was nothing but supportive of Pom. I was so happy when she was able to find her passion and someone that truly valued her. They made a good team and took us for a ride to find the culprit. I could see this becoming a series and I’m here for it❤️

Pom’s world is taken away over night by the murder of her Grandmother, the matriarch of the Afton Hotels. Due to the suspicious circumstances of her death the clause in her will stating if she died from unnatural causes, all the money and assists of the family would be frozen until the murder was solved.

Pom works together with Gabe to solve this murder all the while working on herself and growing as a person. There was a lot of character growth and she turned out to be a great FMC.

This is an incredible debut novel!! This was such a great murder mystery -- and mix in some romcom? It's like this was made for me! Fleshed out, well-rounded, relatable characters, This was a really fun read and I cannot wait for more from Bellamy Rose!

To say the least, I breezed through this book-- in a good way! It's very Gossip Girl meets Psych (weird pairing, but it works!), so if you're interested in either of those shows, you should definitely give this a read. However if you're looking for a more crime-driven mystery, this book might not be a match. Nevertheless, I loved the characters and the upper Manhattan ambience, and I hope the author expands this book into a series!
