This is a beautiful Christmas time story, about the Three Kings, culturally, I celebrate this festivity too, and think this is a nice way to introduce and enjoy the holiday with my kids.

However, I would have liked it more if the author would have included more about the actual Three Kings story and about her traditions into the book, rather than including a separate section with those details.

This children's book is such a sweet treat! It's about the celebration of the three wise men seen through the eyes of a little girl and her Puerto Rican abuela who's nostalgic of her life there. It's cute as can be. The illustrations give out all the cosy heartwarming Christmas feels. And the exotic touch is great. Highly recommended to learn about other people's culture.
Since I love reading in Spanish, I had to read the Spanish version of Hooray, It's Three Kings Day!
And it's just as fun.

Nos encanto este libro! Mis hijas tienen 6 y 9 años y, aunque la de 9 años ya no cree del todo en los reyes magos, la de 6 años si. Les gusto mucho. La verdad es que pensé que sería una historia contando quienes son los reyes magos, como forman parte de la cultura hispana y la religión católica. Pero no es así. El cuento explica sobre las tradiciones que hay en la familia de Sofia al rededor de la celebración de Reyes. No sé si es típico ese tipo de tradición en Puerto Rico, país de la familia de Sofia. Desde luego, no es así en España, donde vivo yo.

De todas maneras, me gusto mucho el libro, sobre todo para mi hija de 6 años que está aprendiendo a leer. Lo hemos leído un par de veces para practicar y lo guardaré para las vacaciones de navidad para repasarlo de nuevo.

The perfect book for the holidays! It does a wonderful job of explaining the holiday that even kids reading this alone will understand. I also loved this book because I could practice reading my Spanish. The illustrations looked amazing and adorable. I will definitely purchase for myself.

I picked this one up as I'm trying to improve my Spanish and learn more vocab, and this was a great little book for that. The story was very sweet and informative about a holiday that isn't really celebrated where I'm from. I work with kids in a Spanish speaking country now, and think this would be a super cute book for them to read around the holidays.
