Since We're Here by Chrissy Hopewell is a hilarious and sweet story about an impulsive girl and a broody man. The whole book has you on an adventure, both literally and emotionally.

I really liked this one! Devoured this so fast! I haven’t read the previous two book and I felt like this is okay to read as a standalone. (The two previous books are in my TBR now because it made me curious ha-ha).

The book weas very well written, easy to read and I instantly fell in love with Maddie and Patrick! It made me want to go to Ireland ASAP! I loved the characters and the town. If you love the grumpy/sunshine trope as much as me, this will be such a fun read. A recommended read from me.

This book was everything I hoped it would be and more! An Irish romance, hot but grumpy bartender and a flighty but charming main character.
The character development was great even in moments when some of the characters were being stubborn and frustrating. This book truly was a made for tv rom com and I loved it!
I can’t wait to what other adventures Chrissy Hopewell comes up with next!!

This book was a Hallmark movie, but in all of the best ways. The scheming, the sisterhood, the hot bartender who ends up being the actual person you’re looking for… all set in small town Ireland. All of the perks of the best romcom. Add in the grumpy x sunshine factor, and you’re golden. Actually, you’re freezing, because you packed incorrectly for Ireland in February, but you get the idea. Also, sheep.

I’d like to order the hot Irish bartender please. This was fun and sexy. Loved these two wounded people trying to make their way in the world. Patrick, grumpy, and Maddie, sunshine, have a quick romance that turns to shite. It’s a shame because they have great communication until they fall for each other. The ending is a little cheesy but overall this is a great romance. Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC

For all my romance readers who daydreamed of hopping on a plane to Ireland and meeting someone who swept you off your feet - Chrissy Hopewell took your daydream (and mine) and turned it into an amazing romance novel! Thanks to @netgalley I was able to get an ARC of Since We’re Here and if Sunshine-Grumpy is one of your favorite troupes you’re going to adore Maddie and Patrick. I loved the way Chrissy wrote Maddie as a believable authentic sunshiney FMC - it’s a delicate balance and oftentimes can leave the FMC coming across as more naïve than anything else and Maddie was perfectly written. I also love that Maddie showed you can be successful without having a traditional four year degree. I think so many of the up and coming generation, including my tiny human will wonder if getting a bachelors degree is worth it and I think showing that someone can be successful and happy without one is important. It may be a romance novel but you never know who is going to pick it up off the shelf 🤷🏼‍♀️ Overall I loved the book - miscommunication troupes, a bit of drama and an Irish bar - what’s not to like? It was a quick fun little read and I’ll definitely be picking up the other books in this series!

This was a fun book to read! It's the third in a series, which I didn't know when I read it - but easy to follow and I'd like to read the previous books now, too.

Set in Ireland, Maddie is there to plan an epic pre-wedding activity prior to her sister's wedding in Dingle. The story is told in 9 sections - each chapter starts with a disastrous break up in Maddie's life and shows how it led her to where she is at. Patrick is the best man - Maddie is hoping to get his help in planning her itinerary only he's resistant. After a horrible break up of his own, he's back managing a pub and finds himself needing help when his manager quits. Maddie jumps in to help and their story goes from there. Will he be 10th man out, or the one that changes the direction of Maddie's love life. The setting is beautifully described, the characters are such fun to learn and it's an enjoyable story.

Holy hot Irish man! This was cute and fun and made me want, no, NEED to go to Ireland, find a small town and start working at an Irish pub. And then go sightseeing to all the places mentioned! I looked up every single one and I’m going to say that this isn’t only a completely adorable, must read romance but also an actual travel guide!

The spice level rating I would say is about a 2. Some on-page and some off-page romance but the on-page romance was short and sweet but still adult content.

I loved the Boyfriend Disaster Diaries. That was so cute and creative in my opinion! Highly recommend!! This is a perfect read for any situation. Vacation, rainy day, cold day by a fireplace? Loved it!

After yet another failed job and romance, Maddie Hart changes her flight from St. Lucia to Dingle, Ireland. There she can figure out her next moves and harass Patrick McNulty into helping her plan the pre-wedding roadtrip for her sister that he’s been ignoring.


Ugh, this book was sooooooo good. And apparently “American in Ireland” is my new fave romance genre because I’m obsessed. It gave me all the butterflies and goosebumps.


Things I really liked:
-All the snark. Their banter was SO good and I laughed a lot
-The beginning of Maddie’s chapters included a backstory/explanation of each of her previous boyfriends and jobs.
- Also the beginning of each chapter, the way the date changed between US and European standards based on who’s POV it was.
-It was really refreshing to read a book where the guy is struggling with his self esteem.

-I really want to go on the road trip Maddie plans out, and helpfully it’s included at the end of the book!


My only complaint is I had a hard time understanding the beginning with the timeline of aunt Evelyn and her bucket list with the most recent ex boyfriend. Besides that this book is stellar and I highly recommend it.

This book was one of a kind it is not often find a book with an extremely original plot that works. I loved the correlation between her past jobs and past boyfriends. This book is a tourist/local romance that I would highly recommend to anyone. I loved the transitioning of the chapters as well as the suspense I had throughout the book. Lovely read.

This is a lovely romance. The book is full of sheep and goats, and beer and touristy Ireland. It is all fabulous. There is a romance in there too, with Maddie over in Ireland hiding away with a a broken heart and not sure what her future is, and grumpy Patrick has his job but it isn’t quite working. Jumble all this up with cycling in the rain, summer dresses in rainy cold Ireland and working out what love might be, this is a great read.

A perfect end to this storyline!

As this is the third book in the series, and the last sister’s journey to finding her happily ever after, it is recommended that you have already delved into Reece and Stella’s stories. This will ensure that all the character relationships and intricacies in this book will be fully understood.

Madison has been deceptive about her visit to Ireland and has not told her sisters. Although it may be seen as impulsive and lacking long-term thinking, she wholeheartedly embraces this shift in location as the exciting adventure it represents. She absolutely did not plan for all of what she encountered, with Patrick and his bar on the very top of the list.

The way these two characters connected and the chemistry between them was incredibly enjoyable, and it was a pleasure to see them find their path to their happily ever after. Throughout their time together, they always held on to the belief that their connection would eventually come to an end. As if!

This author’s writing style makes it easy to connect with the character’s emotions, and I really loved reading it. I’m eagerly anticipating her next new release, and in the meantime, I’ll be doing a re-read of all three of these.

A grumpy x sunshine romance set in Ireland? Sign me up!

Since We're Here was so cute! I found this to be very entertaining. I loved the humor, the characters and, of course, the setting. The sheep were too cute. This story had a lot of heart & humor.

I thought Maddie & Patrick were a hoot. They had such a fun dynamic. I truly enjoyed their relationship. It was sweet but had its sexy moments. I also felt Maddie & Patrick were relatable characters.

This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone with no problem.

A classic opposites attract romcom with a beautiful Ireland setting. Would recommend!

I did love this book. I loved Maddie. She was sunshiney, but without making me wonder how anyone could stand to be around her. Patrick is delightfully grumpy.

I loved their interactions, and his interactions with his family.

This book just gave me warm feels, and adorable moments, with the right amount of spice.

The only thing that threw me off happens towards the end of the book. The author describes Donegal as a Northern Irish town. It's a county in the Republic of Ireland. There is a Donegal Town in County Donegal, which I think is where the author means this to be, but it's definitely not in Northern Ireland, and there wouldn't be Northern Irish flags. There is also a Donegall Square in Belfast, which might have also confused the issue. Add into that, there's Malin Head in Donegal, which is Ireland's most northerly point, but it's not in Northern Ireland. I'm from Donegal, which is why this threw me off so much.

Other than that, I adored this book. I didn't read the first two, and I do think I should have first, as there are aspects to Maddie's relationships with her sisters that I didn't have the full context for. But even so, I laughed, I teared up a little, and I really felt their emotions and thoughts, which is exactly what I want in a book!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! I usually like to read a series in order, but I got this book as an ARC and decided just to mix things up a bit. I will definitely be going back to read the first two books now.

The hot mess that is Maddie and Patrick is just so endearing. I loved both of them together. I also loved that I could hear the Irish accent through the writing.
I think the grumpy/sunshine tropes might be one of my favourites. And this book did not disappoint!

after reading the summary for this book, i knew i absolutely HAD to read it, so you can imagine how overjoyed i was to receive a NetGalley ARC!

and guys… it was GOOD! like so SO good!

i have to keep this as spoiler-free as possible, otherwise i could rave on for hours, but when i tell you that i didn’t want to put this book down, i mean that!

my own version of a summary: ‘Madison Hart has been through nine messy breakups, each resulting in a job lost. and after her 10th relationship goes up in flames (metaphorically speaking), sunshine-y Maddie decides to switch her flight to the Caribbean for a flight to Ireland, to meet with her sister’s fiancé’s best friend; a grumpy, irish, ex-pro soccer player, Patrick McNulty, who isn’t replying to her emails about the pending itinerary for her sister’s 12-day pre-wedding irish roadtrip.

a steamy kiss shared between two not-so-strangers turns into a vow of platonic intentions, but these two can only stay platonic for so long before their heated chemistry catches up to them.’

do y’all ever have that issue of reading a romance book and thinking “no one speaks like that”? because i feel that way all the time. but this book? no, not with this book. the dialogue was realistic, the plot wasn’t unimaginable, and the angst was actually believable!

there was no moments of thinking “oh my god now the author is just making it difficult for them”— the plot, the angst, Maddie and Patrick’s life stories and issues— it was all so well thought out and set up so well!

i think if i could marry a book, this one would be high up there on the list, i’m not even gonna lie. it was genuinely a struggle to tear myself away from this book in order to, ya know, do my job.

if i can give one piece of advice? read it. just… just read it. you won’t regret it! i mean c’mon; it has close proximity, he falls first, tourism, and sheep!

anyways, if anyone needs me, i’ll be scouring the internet for how to secure a physical copy of this book for my ‘favorites’ shelf!

This might be the best Grumpy x Sunshine book I’ve read recently. I’ve been looking for one where the MMC stays “grumpy” or quiet and blunt and Patrick is the perfect Grumpy MMC. He may not say a lot or use the best words but he shows his loving side with tender actions and small things. Maddie on the other hand is such a good sunshine character, she’s sweet and friendly and a little impulsive but so easy to love. I really enjoyed these two trying to hide their feelings for each other during their “fling”. The conversations and small looks that were shared made me positively giddy for them. Grumpy x Sunshine is one of my favourite tropes and when it's done right it is just so good. I really think that these two characters are good for each other. Maddie's sunshine personality and the fact that she doesn't shy away from Patrick even when he's being blunt is perfect for him and he's stable and shows his love quietly while taking care of her and letting her be herself. I am looking forward to going and reading the first two books in this series.
