This is a tricky review for me to write. When you buy this book new, it comes with a code for an aptitude test, which is a really cool feature. I didn’t realize how this worked when I selected the ARC, and it turns out the ARC doesn’t include a code. That’s understandable - authors don’t have to give it away for free - but without the test, the book feels kind of pointless to read. It even instructs you to take the test before chapter four, so I don't feel motivated to continue without the ability to take the test.
I’ve found the discussion of different aptitudes and how to use them interesting so far, but reading about concepts that may or may not apply to me isn’t how I want to spend my evenings right now. So, I’m setting this one aside for now. I may consider buying the book or the code in the future - or if I discover that I do have access to a code, I’ll revisit it.
From what I’ve read—27% in—the book is decent. It’s intriguing, and I’ve learned a lot. There’s plenty of “supporting evidence” explaining why aptitude matters, with stories of people who were stuck in the wrong field or found hobbies that fulfilled abilities their jobs didn’t. Those were great, but there were a lot of them. The tone also felt mismatched at times - sometimes academic, sometimes casual and direct-to-reader. It wasn’t bad, just inconsistent, and I think that comes down to taste.
Overall, I’d recommend this to anyone who finds the synopsis intriguing, and I’ll make an effort to return to it in the future.

This book is a treasure trove of knowledge. Reading it as a parent I learned how to explain why I am skilled in areas that are unique! And I’m planning to have my three teen-young adult try the youscience assessment to help guide their lives. Learning about who God made you to be and how you can use the mix of skills, interests, passions to be successful and choose to serve or work with your strengths will benefit any reader! But especially bring data to planning your life work and ministry to all who seek out the support. Well written. Easy to read. And yet it’s inspiring and informative!

I'm not starting my career, and this book was perfect not only for those looking for their purpose in life, but those making life changes. This book helped me a great deal. I couldn't have liked it more. If you want to bring out your own hidden genius, read this book.
Thank you to William Morrow and NetGalley Even though for a digital ARC of this title in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
